Elena, who spent her entire life as a cold-blooded female knight to avenge her family, ended up dying without claiming her revenge. When she opened her eyes she found that she went back into the past. By day she was a lady in a dress, and at night she carried a sword to change history and prevent her family’s destruction. “I want to marry you, Your Highness,” she said to the crown prince. She would do this to save her family.
Chapter 38 - No Other Answers (2)
After 39 chapters it got boring and I started skipping lines. I don´t know what everyone else is smoking here to be giving this 5 stars. The plot is so unoriginal and cliche, and each interaction between MC and ML made me almost throw up in my mouth.
ML, the prince, is already in love with her because guess what? They met once in their childhood. God these overused romance plot tropes... It´s nice to read a story with a guaranteed happy ending. But does the journey have to be so goddamn predictable with a beautiful, strong heroine and a dashing powerful hero? It´s like reading Romeo and Juliet but with less good writing and dull characters.
Okay I know I´m the idiot for expecting something extra despite the cover pic and the summary.

Chapter 169 - Playing Dirty (2)
So many 5 star reviews praising the characters for having "intelligence", for the MC to have "common sense" and "dignity" etc.
I've read to the end of the stories in the raw, and I can promise everyone else with a lick of sense that those guys are probably just bots with fake reviews because the MC of this story suffers from the common affliction that all other shoujo novels do.
Basically they are s*upid, emotionally and socially crippled, because how else do you get a multi chapter story to publish for women eh?
MC does not have common sense. Far from it in fact, for an alleged brutal, mercenary female knight used to a life of wandering, blood and indignity, a lot of her issues and obstacles in the story come from the fact that every time she encounters a problem, she will fuss and moan and angst about it, before being the absolute princess and letting the matter rot and fester somewhere.
Obvious, this comes back to bite her in the ass to say nothing of her complete lack of anything resembling ruthlessness or cunningness. The very first arc in the story already exemplifies it. Think of how the maid she let go came back to bite her in the ass, rinse and repeat just with different characters and situations, but the main crux of the problem remains, and voila, that is EXACTLY how the rest of the story goes. She never matures beyond the "oh my, ah my heart, why must I do such things, this poor thing, I must be good to her even though she obviously isn't a good person."
No shit. You're supposed to be a mercenary, but you've never seen, heard or maybe even DONE a simple assasination before? One that would have neatly cut off all your issues without leading it back to you? Really?
MC has dignity? My left foot has more dignity than her. At least my left foot doesn't automatically transform into a brainless, angsty, swooning idiot every time the male lead appears within 5 km. Doesn't seem so bad in the first 50-80 chapters, but my God, the last 40 chapters. Near perfect damsel in distress.

Chapter 79
The Ultra Amazing Super Knight that almost downed an entire kingdom goes back in time to act like a common and gulible noble lady.
The romance is terrible, since she wants to marry for interest and the ML had a childhood crush the MC never realized. Their interactions are not interesting and the ML's personality is the most cliche of all.
The MC has little agency considering she wanted to change the future, and she never acts like the badass warrior we keep being told she was. The excessive mercy is also something we wouldn't find in a veteran warrior, specially when said mercy caused the death of their entire family.
Overall this novel fails in the two things it promised: A Badass MC and a good Romance.

Chapter 14 - I’ll Protect My Family (1)
As of Chapter 150: This novel has gone down a very different path than I'd originally thought, so I'm revising my rating. It kind of gives the first impression of a heroine who spends most of her time at war (my cup of tea), but in reality it leans more toward tea party and doting prince (ironically not so much my cup of tea). So be forewarned! This is more shoujo than action.
Original review:
What an amazing novel, I was completely taken by surprise! It checks every single one of my boxes.
  • An actually competent female protagonist with drive and a goal? Check!
  • A pragmatic point of view? Check!
  • Well-rounded characters with motives who care about each other? Check!
  • A fricking marriage of convenience, yes please!
  • Protagonist faces sexism that isn't either a strawman or condoned by the story! What! Checkcheckcheck
Also a struggle to prevent a coup and decently done battle scenes and just such a departure from the whole badly-researched sorta-European reincarnated-Japanese-salaryman princess-knight light novel thing, I am frothing at the mouth. I should've known it would be Korean.
The translation is great too, it reads very fluently and lots of updates. I'm looking forward to this novel in the future. :)

Ch. 51 - The Sharpest Sword (1)
One of the most promising novels i've found recently, would 100% recommend to read it to see where it goes.
I know a lot of people like to wait for more releases to start reading, but I ask you to at least leave a like and comment on the first chapter, because the translator is deciding to pick this up or not by the responses in the comments.

Chapter 77 - Top Secret (1)
Good example of lazy writing, which is why I'll probably be dropping this one. An OK read for somebody who enjoys shoujo, and is willing to suspend disbelief and common sense.
Absolutely disappointed in the MC. So much potential for a strong female MC hardened and wizened from her personal tragedy before given a chance to re-live her life by going back in time. Instead, the MC is a Mary Sue who can physically fight, and her most intelligent decision was to save the man who will save her and her family thereon. Author cherry picks when the MC's EQ goes online, mainly to frame her as "pure" (virgin, ignorant of romance, avoid luxury, etc...). Every chapter has the MC think, feel, or do something that I question because the author chooses to keep the MC within tropes rather than have her think, feel, or act more realistically.
Other characters are no better – all of them are stereotypical and are very 2D. None of the characters feel like they could be real people. As a result, interactions between characters are also very 2D by their straightforwardness, which is an odd choice for a story that supposedly revolves around intrigue. Drama is similarly uninspired and predictable.
Some minor mysteries that are intriguing, but are either predictable or unimportant.
Sadly, a good premise for an MC ruined by a lazy author reliant on stereotypes. Nothing is particularly appealing while most of it is boring. Much better alternatives: "Common Sense of a Warrior" if you mostly want a strong female fighter or "The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage" for satisfying revenge from a time-travelling and actually intelligent MC.

Chapter 89 - One Small Bud (1)
This story is ok. The characters are ok, the story's development is ok, the romance is ok, everything about this novel is ok but at certain point it becomes boring. I feel this novel needs something to became great. I'm not fondle about the relationship between Elena and the Crown Prince because it's the typical relationship in Korean's novels, I really don't care if they will end up together or not.
Elene herself doesn't catch the interest either, at the beginning of the novel it let seems she is the best swordman of the continent, it is a lie. Every danger situation she faces with the prince, is him who always save her, I never read that famous talent of her, she only blushed ugh. Do you really want to read a REAL swordwomam, then go and read the emperor and his female knight. I bet Polly would beat Elena's ass. It's surprising how well rating this novel is. Don't get tricking by the rating!

Chapter 54 - …I’ve Fallen (2)
The title and synopsis give me a high expectation.
The execution is a bit lacking though. Here she has an amazing ability to fight plus with the knowledge of past live she will know events that will come ahead of everyone. But she didn’t utilize these two major cheats to the best of her abilities. Sadly.
Instead she has to spend her time dealing with this so called “female nobles cliques”. Isn’t that boring? She was one of the best Knight in her past life!
Her decision to “hug a golden tigh” could be awesome had she went to the route of the said title. “Return of the Female Knight”. We only see her occasionally turn into this knight.
I wish to see her investigate heavily: what power and affiliation do the evil guy have? Why the evil guy aim for her family? Why? What purpose? How did he do it? How to avoid it? How to weaken the guy so he couldn’t hurt her family again? How to block him from gaining allies?
Shouldn’t this be priority for one these second chance trope??
I feel like she works in slow motion toward her goal ; the safety of her family.
The one that made me disappoint : Despite portray as a powerful female (scratch that, she is powerful fighter), she chose a man to protect her and family. I meant here she has two fork road; one go Mulan, one go Princess style. She chose princess style.
The title turns a bit meaningless because of this.
Now even with all that, I still enjoy the novel.
