This is the only book I have read where I wanted a sad ending. Mainly because I just want the FL to be sad - badly.

Three words to describe the FL - dumb, selfish, and bratty. She was soo annoying and irritating. She was an adult acting and making decisions like a child. I kept waiting for her charactercter development but instead she just got worse. She only ever cared about herself and her feelings. Some can argue that hereactions were because she loved the sml. But even that was a selfish act on her part. The way she tried to confess to him was proof of that. She honestly felt like a burden to everyone around her. She always made matters worse without care for the repercussions (she was legit willing to let thousands of people die just so she could fulfill her unrequited love - mind you the guy has made it abundantly clear that he has no feelings for her). I honestly felt so bad for the ML that he has to end up with her. Worse of all she doesn't listen, now matter how much you explain and break down issues for her. You could literally say the sky is blue and she would say I think it's black. That's just how s*upid she was. It is a shame this novel is named after her. Because if you exclude her character, this novel would have been a solid 5 star. Every other character was smart, interesting and dynamic. The plot and the world building was great. Which I believe is going to be explored more in volume 2 but I don't even know if I am going to read it because I just want zhu yan to be unhappy for the rest of her life 😂. Which is why I would probably stop at vol 1.

I hope the adaptation makes the show about the ML instead of her (if possible change her entire character😭).
