Chapter 1
(New review after reading on top, the old one below if anybody is interested)
This is the story of Loyal dog, rich & influential gong x orphan, queen shou.
The story is a slow burner although the ML appears early on.
Shan Yatong (Jing Anjue), our MC, used to be a superstar on top of the entertainment industry before he died. After being reborn he decides to continue on the same path. His personality is mostly indifferent to the world around him.
I won't tell you who the ML is so that you can see for yourself. (I honestly was confused once, thinking that I mistook the ML ^^;) You only need to know that this was not a love at first sight, but started from curiosity, later turning the man into a loyal dog who has to drink porridge for breakfast when his lover is unhappy xd
I like that the story uncovers parts of MC's previous life gradually, not telling us what happened to him all at once. We also see many different characters with unique personalities that had encounters with the MC before rebirth and get to know MC's past through them.
What some people might dislike though is that there are many, many characters that were/are in love/infatuated with MC.
The MC is kind of op, because he already mastered many skills in his past life, and he is smart and cunning with a lot of experience. That's why he can deal with many potentially troublesome situations easily. But this doesn't make the story boring at all.
It's a story that made me laugh but also sad sometimes. I really liked the interactions between the characters, and although I could probably pick some faults if I really wanted to, I feel like there is no need. It is a really good story and for me it is a 5/5. <3
(OLD REVIEW /)

I rally like the story so far. When I just started reading it I thought that the MC is giving hints at his rebirth too often, but as I read I began to understand that it's just a part of his personality - he doesn't care if others know. But he is still going to deny it anyways. He won't deliberately try to pretend to be the previous Shan Yatong (copying his habits or whatever), he just continues to be himself, and takes on Shan Yatong's name.

At first our MC is basically described as a born superstar. As a person he seems slightly unrealistic - his life is an act and everything is just for the sake of being a star. Even his death is just another topic he made for himself and he is satisfied with it. Just based off of that, some people might not want to read this novel, but I really like it since this unrealistic and even emotionless image leaves a lot of room for growth.
Since it's a romance novel, I'm assuming that his emotionless shell will get pierced by the ML, and he will no longer see being a star as the only important thing in his life (rather than an important thing it's more like he just doesn't have any interest in other things). Although this assumption can't be confirmed yet. I'll just have to wait and see.
_____________
(Edited) - I need to correct a little what I said above / Actually MC doesn't even care about being a star all that much, he just enjoys the atmosphere of the entertainment industry (the little plots, feuds, putting on fake faces and making new topics on the internet). Or that's how I understood it at least. He scared ML's poor manager/assistant with his mindset of 'If the president doesn't like it, I'll just have to change careers' xd
_____________
Also, I'm gonna say : ML is like mushrooms after the rain - he pops up everywhere xD
Miss Liao is best girl, I tell you. Hello fellow fujoshi! xD What did she say? That she wants to cultivate the MC into a queen? And one has to be careful otherwise a tsundere will come out? Is this correct? If so, she is truly best girl of this book :')
And I felt so bad for President Tang (T_T) Chapter 44 kinda made me wanna cry. (._.) Like the ending of ch44 to be precise. Got a little crazy there...
I recommend you wait a little until there is more translated before reading. The experience will definitely be much better and fuller then.
I'm also thankful to the translators for showing me another interesting novel to read.
It's a 5star for me so far. Don't know if it'll change later on or not but I'll leave it like this for the time being.
I'm not very picky, I think... ^^; So if I don't dislike the book, it usually automatically gets 5 stars, just so you know. But I'm liking this novel more and more as I continue reading!! <3

Chapter 19
This story very much reminds me of True Star, another harem yaoi novel centered in the entertainment industry. So I can't help but compare this novel to it. Comparing those two novels this one feels like a worse version of True Star to me.
The main reason I dislike this story is the MC. I really like, and I quote from another review here "cool, calm, collected, even stoic to others feelings" MCs. I also don't mind MCs being apathetic. BUT in my opinion the MC doesn't totally fit those descriptions. The MC here seems pretty.. Arrogant to me. He comes across as looking down on others a lot of the time. I think the writer wanted it to come across as a cold and cool personality, but to me it's just extremely unlikeable. That kind of arrogance mostly derives from his confidence in his skills as an entertainer and artist, which I understand, and this trait 'being confident in what you're good at' is normally really attractive to me. But he isn't just arrogant during or regarding his work, but in his daily interactions with people, which makes me dislike him quite a bit.
His character might change down the line (i've only read up to c19 after all), but so far his character is extremely unlikeable, which is why I am dropping this novel.

Chapter 40
Basically I got bored. MC seems like a blank paper, expressionless, indifferent and somehow too perfect. Getting vibes that he aimlessly goes wherever and showcases the number of talents he already has, waiting for all males to fall in love with him.
On a side note, I was totally rooting for everyone else but the actual ML to be the ML, RIP. I guess both MC and ML suit each other cuz they both made me feel kinda lifeless haha.

Chapter 1
A very level headed mc
Very mature... even though others sorta helped him
He never rely on anyone, he is strong, intelligent... calm, versatile... not emotional... cold blooded... but in fact he's not a bad person,
he won't act against anyone just like that... but more people like those who rubbed him really wrong... for example a guy who caused one friend from his previous life to commit su*cide, he got her revenge
  1. What I am actually disappointed was in fact the ML and his elder brother... I don't know why I don't like him much he not interesting enough, I would rather no ML than him or I would prefer president Tang to be the ML though he got his chance too but yeah...
  2. And the ML brother, he was the one who r*ped the MC in the past because he loved the MC and wanted him si drugged him, then later got the MC killed 1 was because he didn't want his wife to know about what he did and 2 because he didn't like the MC being with others, he didn't get his retribution well aside from losing the company to the ML and getting divorced losing his children custody... no one dealt with him
  3. And also we just know That he got a woman to approach the MC, then she killed him but it was never explained much... I really wanted to know what happened exactly
These 3 factors are the reasons why I gave it only 4 stars

Chapter 34
Hmm there's a part of me that does feel like this is dated even tho I don't even think this her oldest work. She's my favorite author, but there's something really different about this work.
To be fair, her male MCs in other bl novels do have a similar unaffected by emotions vibe, but the one thing that has always been apparent in all of her works is a lovable "family group" / side characters. One that is looking out for each other.
But this seems more typical basic type of writing but obviously still interesting enough. When I say "basic" I mean the "don't trust no bit*h in entertainment, friends, and family" vibe which is very you know normal in other novels.
Butfor this author, I think this is really strange because she is imo known for a refreshing warm family/friends style. Either she was trying out a different style at this time OR I swear I think the author might have been going through some cynical sh*t when she wrote this. Lmao. I mean I'm still interested. It's like reading like a mystery novel. I kinda don't want any of them to be the ML but at the same time it's interesting to see them try.

Chapter 1
The MC is honestly so cool to the point that many readers may actually call him as cold, and that's totally acceptable too. However, I actually love this kind of MC. It may be a matter of perspective but we rarely have this kind of mc-shou that is cool, calm, collected, even stoic to others feelings, usually that goes to the ml. I love it though 'cause it shows the mc's true character, even if he was reborn to a 20 yr old body, he's already made it to the top and knows that he can do it again so he doesn't really care much about other people's opinion. I honestly love how mature and blunt he is, sometimes it may be a bit insensitive too, although it'll do make sense why he became like this. Thus, I really love the development of him slowly opening up and being able to trust and love in the story.

Chapter 1
If a man has many lovers is it called a harem or reverse harem? Hmm... Whatever, that's not the point.
I am someone who gravely suffers from 2ML syndrome and can't be cured. (so that 1 star is for my boy only. If he can't take the man let him take my star home at least.)
The story was very cute, sometimes I think old yaoi novels are just another level of fluff and quality...
The reviews above already gave a very in-depth analysis on the plot, as far as spoilers goes ofc.
I'm into fluff but a little bit josei in the fluff just makes it better.

Chapter 1
It was a good novel.
Lots of people gave bad review and criticism to this story, however it's a very light and great novel. There is no big romance, only a very persistent ML in love and a frozen hearted MC who does not seek revange in his new life but tries to live on and gets his heart warmed by the ML.
๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
The romance is slow but we can see how hard ML works to grab the MCs heart.
Not the best or the greatest novel out there, but it's definitely worthwhile to read it.
The ending was a bit rushed. I would have adviced to reach at least 105ch for a comforting and closed ending. Even with this negative it's a recommended novel. Good source for fanfictions to give a full ending.
Also it's easy to MTL. Not much complicated vocabulary and also good for beginners to MTL๐Ÿ˜

Chapter 37
I must say that I've read this novel previously.
But I forgot to review or gave it a rating. Even the bookmark was not updated.
Aishhh, this is what happened if you MTL too many novels. Keep tracking of them is hard.
.ยทยดยฏ (>โ–‚<) ยดยฏยท.
Update:
MTL completed, readable 90%.
Karma is a b*tch, however the protagonist here was not out for vengeance. He went with the flow and let those people suffered in regret till the end of time.
It's kinda mild comparing with other revenge theme novel.

Chapter 1
I was mislead by the harem comments; this was better than I expected it to be Spoiler
. I'm not even sure it could be labeled as 'multiple love interests, ' let alone a 'harem, ' since those people all loved the past him, while the ML is the only one who loves him for the person he is in the present. They only showed interest in him because they saw the shadow of his past identity in the new one, which he eventually overcomes.
he didn't have sex/ was not in a physical romantic relationship with multiple partners at the same time, which seems to be the Chinese definition of a harem (as opposed to the Japanese version, where everyone just likes the MC and he ends up with one person). True Star was an actual harem, this is not.
I like calm, intelligent MC so I didn't mind this MC's personality, and as for the ML, he seems to fit and to be what the MC needed to pull him out of the stark emotionless place he started at in the first chapters. It has it's flaws and I really wish we saw more the the MC's emotional journey because it sort of seems like he accepted the ML almost on a whim, but over all this is a solid 3.5. I'm really looking forward to reading the translated version.
