Deep in the mountains lies a dilapidated temple. I, a young Taoist priest of nineteen, am the youngest of my master's disciples. With my senior brothers leaving due to poverty, I inherit the position of掌門 (leader) after my master's passing. However, my claim is challenged by three of my senior brothers. To escape the conflict, I escort a childhood friend, a newly appointed scholar, to the capital for his imperial examination. This journey into the human world will be a temporary respite before I return to settle matters at the temple.
