[Blind (fake), flirtatious shou x restrained (real), criminal investigator gong].
Ying Wan was a blind person nobody wanted. He was picked up from an alley by Yu Baiqing, who was eight years older than him.
Adult Ying Wan became a blind bartender, while Yu Baiqing smoothly graduated from the police academy and joined Fan City’s criminal investigation team.
Seven years later, there was a major transnational case in Fan City.
With their backs to the wall, the criminal group seized Ying Wan as a hostage and demanded for the captain of the criminal investigation team, Yu Baiqing, to give up on capturing them.
Ying Wan could not see, so all he could hear was the sound of a bullet being loaded.
On that day, in front of Yu Baiqing, the bandit pointed the gun at Ying Wan and pressed the trigger.
–
When Ying Wan came to, he realized he was no longer blind.
He’d returned to the day he was held hostage.
Having regained his sight, Ying Wan recognized the handsome, tall criminal investigator amongst the mass of people in an instant.
That was his ge Yu Baiqing, who had raised him for more than ten years.
Yu Baiqing’s bloodshot eyes were locked unwaveringly on Ying Wan, who was in the hands of the bandit. Sweat and tears intermixed as they slid down his cheeks.
“Captain Yu, shoot me if you can!”
The criminal yelled arrogantly at Yu Baiqing in the distance. “Do you dare to use the lives of a few thousand people in exchange for your brother?”
The reborn Ying Wan watched with his own eyes as Yu Baiqing raised the gun in his hands and aimed it accurately at the bandit’s heart once more.
“…I’m sorry, Little Wan.”
He saw Yu Baiqing mouth ‘I. Love. You.’
–
Yu Baiqing always thought that the little blind person would never know, even till the day he died, that he’d liked him for many years.
‘We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.’

Author’s Notes:
– This is a suspense, mystery novel with a Hong Kong-style of criminal investigation, but as a whole, it is impractical.
– Both are bigshots. Two sockpuppet spirits putting on a show about their birth (lit cigarette.jpg)
– There’s both the gong and shou’s POV, but more from the shou. Gong and shou are not related by blood, they call each other ge and di only because there is an age gap.
– 1V1, HE. Plot is complex but romance is sweet!! Please read with peace of mind~
– One last nagging statement – this is my own creative work, there is no relation to reality. Please don’t self-insert without any research. It’s a difficult environment, may readers please leave me with a way out, many thanks.
