Character cheat sheet. This is mainly for me, and people who took a break from the novel.\n
Yukiya Kitahara(北原雪哉) now (雪耶): The protagonist. A junior high student, 14, and now a Snow girl. Short black hair, beautiful pale skin.\n
Syuuji Kitahara(北原修司): Yukiya’s father, and owner of the Snow House.(雪乃亭) Which is located in Hyousei Village(氷清村)\n
Yukino(雪乃): Yukiya’s mother, and is a snow woman/ Yuki Onna.\n
Hazuki Natsumi(夏美) and Saeki Tomonori(佐伯智則): Yukiya’s friends and classmates.\n
Hikura Kouko(氷倉凍子). The evil young Yuki Onna. Sharp eyes, and long black hair. Reiko is her mom.(冷子) And Himiko(氷見子)is her lackey.\n
Azusa Okamoto AKA Azuchi (岡本梓 ) Girl friend.\n
Mai Fujisaki (藤崎舞) Girl Friend.\n

Class was decidingly cancelled.\n
The lecture and homework was never handed out, so we’ll be contacted later about it.\n
“Well then. . .Take care on your way home. I’ll contact you all later with the coursework, agahh gahh *coughing noise*.”\n
The assistant teacher said as he then sneezed and coughed into a rag.\n
Most of the remaining students gave their goodbyes while coughing in between.\n
Because I have an appointment with Kouko, I had to wait. So as everybody evacuated and went home. I had to sit in the class alone. Trying to kill time. \n
It was only our class that got called off. The other same year class was still going.\n
Natsumi-chan isn’t here anymore, and there is no tennis club. So it was an excruciating wait.\n
“I never would have imagined I’d be trained by Kouko. . .”\n
I muttered from the corner. She had finally finished her class.\n
I was restless as she looked around to confirm that nobody was here.\n
“That isn’t the best way to start this.”\n
To make things worse. She heard my grumbling. She has surprisingly sharp ears.\n
“S-So, what should I do.”\n
“Oh, quite proactive. I’ve heard that you are usually lazy when it comes to this, so this is a good change of event.”\n
Has she been watching my training. . .\n
“So then, where to begin? For the moment, I will release my power little by little.”\n
Suddenly her thin eyes went sharp as they looked towards me.\n
“You can adjust it as much as you can so we can resonate. Once that happens, it can awaken a larger wave. So you should be able to feel it when that happens.”\n
I have no idea what she is talking about.\n
I was told to stand by the window. Reluctantly I did so.\n
“You want to open the window?”\n
“This way. . .I believe it’s easier to feel the power from the mountain.”\n
While explaining so, Kouko opened the window. Immediately an ice cold wind mercilessly flew in.\n
It’s okay because we are both Yuki Onnas.\n
She stood a few meters away from me and closed her eyes. \n
It was as she was praying.\n
She then opened her eyes and looked at me again.\n
“How was that? Did you feel the power flowing.”\n
Apparently the training has already begun. But I didn’t even realize.\n
Without hesitation, she approached me. Stopping a mere 50 centimeters \n
“How about now? Do you feel it?”\n
“Geeze, you are really insensitive.”\n
Kouko looked completely lost.\n
Now she came another 50cm closer.\n
“You also close your eyes. Concentrate this time.”\n
It can’t be helped. She is going out of her way to help me.\n
I closed my eyes and did as I was told.\n
It heighted my sensations. To the point where I could feel her breath on me.\n
“Do you feel the power?”\n
She put both hands on my shoulder.\n
Her face was so close to mine.\n
Suddenly, something new happened.\n
My feelings fluctuated. \n
From my whole body, it felt like something was swaying. . .\n
It was an invisible breeze, frozen in it’s white touch.\n
Something that overflowed.\n
“I certainly feel it. . .”\n
Once I felt it, it became clear.\n
I felt it. It was overflowing from my body. Spreading to my surroundings.\n
I unconsciously opened my eyes.\n
Kouko’s face was right in front of me.\n
“Yes. The power that is poured into us is from the mountain. It then leaks from us to our surroundings.”\n
Silver fragments merged and mixed together within Kouko’s black eyes.\n
“Don’t forget this feeling. . .”\n
“Yeah. . .I never will forget this.”\n
I closed my eyes again. Feeling my surroundings.\n
Don’t forget this again.\n
The silence was broken by another voice.\n
Both Kouko and I turned towards the noise.\n
The classroom door was suddenly open.\n
A familiar school uniform was in the doorway.\n
Kouko and I said as we were still close together.\n
Suddenly the door was vigorously closed.\n
The sound of somebody running was heard.\n
“It’s a misunderstanding, Tomonori.”\n
Still I need to clear this up. So I ran out of the classroom with all my might. Quickly gaining on him. I caught up to him and grabbed his arm.\n
“Listen, It just looked like somebody was still inside the school, so I was curious, I didn’t mean to. . .See you guys embracing.”\n
His face was pale. This is a complete misunderstanding.\n
“You are misunderstanding, Tomonori.”\n
“No matter what you girls do, it’s none of my business.”\n
“No it’s not like that. It’s just that we needed to do something together.”\n
“Ahh, I understand. I apologize though. I didn’t mean to see your guys’ secret.”\n
Uhh. Tomonori is a guy. So it’s easy to make false assumptions about girls.\n
“Listen, I’m happy for you two. I’m relieved you two are close. . .Well, then. See you later, Yukiya-chan.”\n
And then he pulled out of my grasp and started to run.\n
“No, it’s a misunderstanding!”\n
Thus the chase began anew.\n

The next day the classroom was completely back to normal.\n
The students who were absent yesterday were all back. It was as noisy as it was 2 days ago.\n
Natsumi-chan, who had to leave early yesterday, returned in good health.\n
“I wonder if my perfect attendance is okay?”\n
Natsumi-chan has never missed a school day. From elementary school to now.\n
She was aiming for the perfect attendance award.\n
“I-It’s still an amazing record regardless, Natsumi-chan.”\n
Fujisaki-san and friends were also back to normal.\n
“Good morning! Kitahara-san.”\n
Luckily no weird rumors came.\n
Tomonori was soon to follow. His greeting was awkward as he got closer to me.\n
Natsumi-chan looked worried.\n
“Did something happen?”\n
She has always been sharp. She already looked worried and immediately asked. This could be troublesome.\n

In the snowy mountain, I was training with my mother.\n
For the first time, I was able to launch small snowstorms, and release balls of cold air.\n
“Amazing Yukiya. You have improved so quickly. Your control is much better.”\n
It has been the first time in a while that she has praised me for my Yukinmusume skills.\n
She has always seemed at her wits end. So it’s really nice to see her like this.\n
After this, I wonder if I can handle some hot water from a bath.\n
“Y-Yeah. I got some special training. From Kouko.”\n
“Oh. I have to thank her mother Reiko. Though it’s been awhile since she has been open with me. . .”\n
My mother frowned and crossed her arms. Seems like a complicated situation.\n
“Anyways, with your powers under control, you should be able to live in the human village even after winter.”\n
So it seems like I don’t have to worry about melting in the heat.\n
“Yeah, don’t worry about it.”\n
Though she said that. My mother’s face looked a little dark.\n

I wonder what secrets her mom is hiding. And will Kouko and Yukiya become friends? We’ll just have to wait and see.\n
