Later that nightâŠ
After catching Nanako and Tsurayuki who came back home, I announced the idea I thought up of.
ââŠand thatâs why I want it to be set at a station"
And the verdict was...
âStation? Why?â
âIs Kyouya one of those train otakus?â
Question marks are written all over the girls faces.
Tsurayuki on the other hand is quietly looking on but heâs definitely paying attention as his ears are pointed in this direction.
âThen Iet me explain my line of thought.â
I tell them my perspective on the matter.
âSince the station is a place that everyone uses, I thought could explain the setting with minimum effort with just the premise aloneâŠIn other words you wonât need to dwell too much with setting up the location of the story. The film run-time is limited so wouldnât this be convenient?â
It would be difficult to give a sufficient explanation of the setting with just 3 minutes so I want it to be established as early and easily as possible.
With that point in mind if itâs a public place that everyone can relate to like a train station, then you can explain it with putting in a railway signage at the beginning and an image of someone waiting at the train platform.
âDo you two girls remember the stations you talked about?â
âYeah there are many things that I can remembe about it.âÂ
âYup, now that you mention itâŠâ
The two of them gave a nod of approval.
âWell then please look at this-â
I let everyone see the plot outline.Â
Opening scene. Perspective of the station staff. A lone girl at the station wearing a randoseru-style bag.
The girl gets on and off the train from the platform again and again and with each time the girl grows older from a child to an adult.
The last scene ends depicting a scene where she leaves the station with a cane.
We start in the morning and end in the evening.
Overlay that scene with the life of a woman, then it mimics the passage of time. One can closely relate their life In a place like a station and thatâs why I thought it was a fitting place.
In a station there many ways to easily show the passage of time and people can easily relate how time passes by in such a place
And above all itâs easy to make drama in that kind of setting.
âSo howâs it look?â
Once again I check everyoneâs opinions on the matter.
âThe explanations easy to follow~ . Count me in.~â] [âMe too, itâs great that its easy to understand.â
This time I have favorable impressions from the girls.
[âWhatâs your take on it, Tsurayuki?â
I glanced at him to see his reaction. Not a word from Tsurayuki as he sits there motionless with his arms crossed.
âWait for me for a sec.â
As he said so he stood up before getting anyoneâs consent.
âUhmmâŠTsurayuki?â
And just like that he went into his room. Â
âWhatâs up with him?â Â
Nanako with a puzzled face looks at Tsurayukiâs room
âHe told us to wait so maybe heâll have something to show us.â
Shinoaki seemed to not worry about it and was scribbling on a paper she has on hand.
âWhat on earth is he up to?â
As I think about various things, not a single sound was heard from Tsurayukiâs room.
30 minutes later Tsurayuki came out of his room.
ââŠHave a lookâ
Saying just a few words he put a piece of paper on top of the desk
âThis isâŠ?"Â
âItâs a scenario. I took a jab at Kyouyaâs plot and quickly wrote it.â
I pick it up and read it. According to Tsurayuki this scenario was made with my idea in mind. Despite it being called a âplotâ in reality however its only a memo with just a few lines, but his scenarioâs description included detailed situations, scene transitions, character profiles, and dialogues while being easy to follow.
This was written in 30 minutes
He wrote it that quickly after seeing the plot, the scale of his talents are insane.
âTsurayuki thisâŠâ
After reading I called out to Tsurayuki. He had a solemn expression on his face.
âI didnât contribute to the idea so I thought Iâd write something and thatâs what Iâve put together just now.â
Just as I suspected you really are amazing TsuruyakiâŠ
Nanako clinches the scenario paper from my hands.
âFufufu, I wonder how a guy like Tsurayuki writes a womanâs lines in the script, this would be something to see.ââ
Nanako doesnât return it to Tsurayuki but gives it to Shinoaki instead.Â
âShinoaki, this is something that should be seen by everyone in the team.â
Shinoaki receives the paper and begins reading it.
ââŠ..Hmmmâ
âLetâs hear it from Shinoaki, say how bad Tsurayukiâs script is...â
Shinoaki then looks up.
âI think this could be interesting!â
âEhâŠ!?â
Nanako was surprised with her reaction as Shinoaki murmurs in approval of what sheâs reading
âWe need to be careful how we handle each take but Iâm really looking forward to doing this~!â
Nanako looks a little interested now.
âWell, well, Tsurayukiâs actually has it in him huh? Now we just need to have you create a proper, completed version.â
Nanako snorts and flashes a provocative smile at Tsurayuki. Â
âWell I canât say for sure how itâs going to work out till I completely write it out though.â
âEh? I see. Do your best thenâŠâ
Unexpectedly Tsurayuki didnât respond to Nanakoâs usual retorts as it ended up dead in the water.
âIâm looking forward to the screenplay!~â
As everyone was conversing about various things, I gaze at Tsurayuki with a sense of respect.
(As I thought, Tsurayuki really is great⊠heâs amazing!)
