âIâm Home.â
It was morning by the time I finished my part-time job and went back to âShare House Kitayamaâ
âAh , welcome back~â
In the living room I was greeted by Shinoaki with fluttering hands, waved at me while reading manga.
âArenât you up to early? Whatâs wrong?ââ
High-school students aside, itâs typically rare for college students to be awake at 7 am in the morning. Itâs especially true for Shinoaki as itâs the norm for her to still be sleeping when there are no compulsory classes.
âI came back rather late last night so I decided to stay up~.â
âAhâŚ,I see.â
If thatâs the case then it makes sense.
On a desk thereâs about 10 books worth of Shinoakiâs personal collection of manga.
The genres were wildly different from shounen manga to shoujo and even autobiographical manga there really was no rhyme or reason to it.
âYouâre not together with Nanako?â
Shinoaki asks as I sit in front of her.
âYeah, her shift is from midnight till noon. That girlâs already a full-fledged worker there. â
Answering with poise, works energetically, and on top of that, a beauty.
The grandpa that owns the store even treats her as his own grandkid.
âUwa-,Nanakoâs such a hard worker~.â
Shinoaki expresses with admiration as her feet dangle in the air. Maybe because she doesnât work her self, so she seems to have a sense of respect to those who do.
Not only to Nanako, Shinoaki often talked with me and Tsurayuki.
âOh yeah, Kyouya-kun have ye' already come up with a solution to the task? â
âNo, nothing yet. I thought about it with Nanako, but nothingâs come up yet.â
âEeehh, I see."
Shinoaki raised her body and threw her hands at the table.
âIâve been thinking for a lo~ng time, but I just canât come up with anything.â
And then with a peaceful big smile on her face
"It would have been nice if you could do the thinking for me ,but that wonât be good huh~"
"Well it would be an issue if you canât think for yourself"
"Eh~, Kyouya-kun is so strict~"
Shinoaki made her eyes look exaggeratedly scared.
âKyouka-kun is more mature than he seems.â
*Cough*
Well itâs the truth though but letâs let that fact slide for now. Itâs already my 2nd university life already though so I already have a solid grasp of things.
âIt canât be helped that my personality is like that, I wonder if I smell like an old man tooâ
As I make an excuse, Shinoaki beamed me a peaceful smile
âLooking at Kyouya-kun reminds me of my younger brother.â
âYounger? Not older?â
âUh huh, Heâs a very serious person and tends to scold me a lotâ
This is the first time Iâve heard the state of the Shinoaki household ever since we met
âIf I remember correctly your hometown was Fukuoka right?â
âYup, At the western part in Itoshima.â
I nodded in assent
âWhen you think of Fukuoka prefecture, you might think of an urbanesque landscape but thatâs not the case in Itoshima itâs just rice paddies and mountains as far as the eye can see. Being a patriarchal society a girl like me whose head is in the clouds gets scolded a lot as you can imagineâ
Shinoaki talked about her hometown with a smile on her face
âMy little brother in particular was very strict, and I donât like it!â
As she was thinking that her cheeks puff up.
âCompared to my brother, Kyouka-kun also scolds me but is gentler in a way~, So I like you.â
âT-thanks, I guess?â
Of course I know that itâs not that kind of âlikeâ but despite that , when being told that by a cute girl like Shinoaki my body canât help but heat up in excitement.
âThere are barely any trains too!!! If you miss one the next was 30 minutes away, I often killed an ama~azing lot of time at the bench there waiting for the next train to come.â
âI totally get that feeling. Waiting for the train to start running again when you miss the train feels so slow .â
âYup yup, and because I missed it a lot of time the station staff even remember my face.â
Somehow that feels very Shinoaki-like.
I can see an image of her childhood self sitting on the waiting on the same bench for quite a while.
"âŚ.Aha!"
I pictured the scene in my mind as it overlapped with the story I was told by Nanako earlier.
I suddenly stood up
âWhatâs the matter Kyouya-kun!?â
Shinoakiâs voice sounded far away as if the cogs in my brain started turning as it told me to focus on a more important thing.
The length of time.
The things related to it.
Multiple people can share the same time at the same place.
"Shinoaki I think I may have come up with an idea"
