It' now deeper into the night.\nFor the time being, we decided to disband.\nI was going to the 2nd floor when Tsurayuki stopped me.
âSay.. Kyouya.â
When I looked back Tsurayuki was looking at me with serious eyes.
âHow did you come up with the train station idea?â
âHow you sayâŠâÂ
A picture was formed in my head through talking with Shinoaki and Nanako.\nThat impetus was the reason for me to come up with that idea.
âWhen I was talking to the girls , they brought up their hometownâs train stations, so I came up with the scene of a girl and the train station, and then a few personal touches were added here and there. â
I explained the gist of it.
ââŠI seeâ
Tsurayuki then offered me a note on a piece of paper
âWhatâs this?â
âRead what it says.â
A story was written on it.
The setting is a train station.\nA story that begins in the morning and ends at night.\nIt contains the life of a woman there. Settings, characters, etcâŠ
Looking at Tsurayukiâs face with a shocked expression, he nods
âThat's right, itâs almost the same thing as the idea you stated earlier.â
The memo clearly looks old, its color being a slight yellow tells that it wasnât written after my idea came to light.
âI plan to make a novel one day so I creates footnotes for it.â
I was startled at the revelation.\nAs I returned the memo, Tsurayuki spoke about his past.
âThis is one of those notes, I made it about 2 to 3 years ago.â
âI-Itâs not like I stole it after seeing the that.â
âAnd I wasnât implying to. Itâs not that I doubt you or anything. I keep my notes close to me at all times but...â
Tsurayuki shoots me a gaze trying to figure me out.
âYouâve never seen the memo , yet you came up with the same exact idea.â
Then it dawned on me.
It should have been clear as day and quickly realized it when I decided on the train station theme becauseâŠ
I actually read it before.
âIt was such crazy coincidence that I couldnât present my idea out at all. It felt like I was being robbed of my own identity, so I obsessed myself with writing that script earlier in order to feel like I got it backâ.Â
Tsurayuki showed me an expression that Iâve never seen before.
A frightening, desperate, and indescribable expression.
âTell meâŠis it a coincidence? What are you really hidingâŠâ
My heart is pounding extremely fast. There was once a collection of short stories\nIn it there was a story set in a station depicting the life of a woman. The work was so detailed, so beautiful that youâd think it was written from the perspective of a woman.\nI read that in the year 2014. Given the time that it was written, it wouldnât be strange that the author was Tsurayuki himself.Â
"Uh..ummm..."
The words wonât flow out. It would sound too unnatural if I just say that itâs a coincidence. Should I tell him the truth? I probably canât. I would seem like a mental case if I tell him about the time slip.Â
The next instant though as these thoughts race through my head.
âThat canât be it huh~â
Tsurayuki laughed softly.
âHonestly, I just thought that no one else in this team would be able to come up with something like this.â  \n ââŠThe scenario just now?â  \n âYeah~â
Tsurayuki nods.
âAs far as the theme is concerned, a train station's characteristics and phenomena within it would allow it to be a perfect subject for âtimeâ.
He lists out the logicality in using the train station as a subject for the playwright.
âBut with that being said, itâs only a concept that would have been thought off by people who are interested in studying and creating stories. Thatâs why I was surprised that Kyouya suggested the idea of the train station.â
Tsurayuki sounded enthusiastic, far from his usual tired self.
âI like thinking about stories, Ever since I was young Iâve watched a lot of movies, novels, and manga as my time and money would allow, studying more of those things is what got me into consider entering Geidai in the first place.â
After all, Tsurayukiâs knowledge has bound to come from somewhere.
âBut things where different when I actually got here, No one talks much about scenarios or stories, and when I did find someone it was a scary woman like Kasegawa making her hard to approach. When the task was being given out, I was wondering whether I should contribute properly and take the initiative but I thought that taking charge would be too conceited of me.â
Tsurayuki laid bare his feelings all out at once. He looked at me and faintly laughed.
âBut after hearing about Kyouyaâs thoughts, I thought it would be possible for me to make something incredible with this guyâ
He then looks at the memo on his hand
ââŠbut this was nagging at me in back of my mind. Itâs not like I thought that Kyouya was a bad person⊠so I called you out like this, but I guess coincidences do happen. Sorry. Forget I said anything.â
âYou don't have to apologize. Itâs understandable that you would feel that way.â
Rather itâs more likely that it wasnât coincidence.
âWell I was just getting ahead of myself I guess. Letâs make this one count. Iâll handle making a quality script and you handle on making the production side the best it could be.â
âYeah. Itâs a promise then.â
âIâll hold you to it then.â
Itâs amazing how Tsurayuki wasnât embarrassed in letting out his feelings, I then went back to my room soon after but stopped in the middle of the stairs trying not to let my chest burst in excitement
Is it possible that Tsurayuki isâŠ
At the time the number of works I read was limited. I liked reading books not just light novels, although I was more of a âgamesâ person. My budget was fairly limited so I was only buying books from my favorite authors.\nNaturally I wouldnât remember every author that was in that short story collection but one name did stick out to me.
Kawagoe Kyouichi
Is Tsurayuki and that person one and the same?
The possibility was quite high. Kyouichi Kawagoe wrote not only light novels, but also general literary arts like mystery , romance, and even likes to often write short stories.\nHowever unlike Shinoaki whose name and pen name are exactly the same, there was nothing like that with this case.
Thereâs not much of a trail to follow and no other clues besides both of them being writers and itâs a bit of a stretch. One thing is certain though.
âI did bad by Tsurayuki.â
I unconsciously used something from the future.\nAnd because of that I might have taken away one of Tsurayukiâs works.
âWell... itâs not like Iâm guilty.â
I want to take advantage of the benefits of me time slipping and move forward with my 10 years of experience, Itâs certainly my only advantage.\nOf course I will reflect on my actions. It is better to not overplay and rely on this hand too much.
âThatâs why its just one more reason to keep learning more!â
When I entered the room I pulled out a video techniques book. \nTsurayuki asked me to help with the directing business, so I have to properly study things other than production .\nWith a plan moving forward, my motivation was at an all time high.
