Ch72 - How straight are you?

Seeing his face had become paled, Xie Zhuxing’s tone softened, “How is this me trying to make you angry on purpose? Wasn’t this something you insisted on knowing?”
Wang Chao argued, “Usually when I want to hear you say something, you won’t even speak at all! But whenever i don’t want to hear, you are suddenly talkative! Why don’t you just talk about how you two got together and how you got her pregnant then?”
What is he going on about? Xie Zhuxing frowned, “Alright, this is enough nonsense.”
Wang Chao slapped his own thigh, so overcome with anger his organs had begun to hurt, “You bastard are impatient now? How I’ve spoiled you! You only know how to beat me up everyday! Did you beat her up before?”
Xie Zhuxing’s temple was now throbbing, “You’ve said this yourself that she’s a girl.”
Wang Chao yelled, “Because she’s a girl, so what? You didn’t seem bothered that I wasn’t a girl when you slept with me!”
Xie Zhuxing asked, “When was I bothered that you weren’t a girl?”
Wang Chao thought about it: he really hasn’t been bothered. But he didn’t want to let him win this quickly, “You aren’t bothered by me, but I’m bothered by you! If you were a girl, I’d beat you up eight hundred times a day! Had you dared not trust me like this today, I’d slap you in the face!”
Xie Zhuxing, “…” I’ve never slapped you in the face before.
Wang Chao’s anger is similar to a balloon. Every time he gets angry, once he lets it out, his anger would escape from the holes and be gone in a moment. Such was the case at present. The slapping of his own thigh stopped, and tired of arguing, he reclined his seat and entered a meditative state. After pondering for a while, he opened his mouth, dispirited, “I really wasn’t flirting with your classmate. I noticed a nice tattoo of a star on her ankle and wanted to get one myself, so I began to chat with her. She was also the showy type and dragged me to check out the UFO on her belly. She kept praising the technique and taste of her tattoo artist; a passerby probably would’ve thought she was a sales representative. Also, what’s the point of flirting with her? Judging by her outfit and vibe, she’s most likely a lesbian. Would I flirt just to get her as a friend? How much free time do you think I have?”
As long as he speaks seriously, Xie Zhuxing does trust him. The tone he uses when he’s telling lies is different than that when he’s telling the truth. Xie Zhuxing’s also seen that tattoo on that girl’s ankle.
Xie Zhuxing’s tense grip on the steering wheel loosened. Calmly, he asked, “Did you find the receipt for the diamond ring from my backpack?” This backpack wasn’t new. He had used it before his debut last year, and since then, it’s been stashed in a corner, collecting dust. He had dug it out coincidentally after class began, and seeing that the size is perfect, he then used it for his textbook and notebook.
Wang Chao pursed his lips and crossed his legs, dangling his feet on purpose, pretending he didn’t care at all. But deep inside, his heart is dripping with jealousy.
Xie Zhuxing said, “I bought the ring, but before I could see her, she called and told me that she wanted to break up. Unfortunately I couldn’t return the ring; if I could, then I would have a long time ago.”
This is indeed a sad story. Wang Chao, however, has zero sympathies for him. “Hah, you fucking deserved it, for being so blind before that you were looking for a partner from a dumpster,” he gloated.
Xie Zhuxing thought to himself. Only before? The one he’s got now is lots to handle too.
Wang Chao asked again, “Where is the ring now?”
“At home.”
“Find it and give it to me after we go back then.”
“It’s a woman’s ring, you won’t be able to wear it.”
Wang Chao was irritated again, “Who said I was going to wear that garbage ring you bought for that woman?”
Xie Zhuxing stopped asking. If he wanted it, he would give it to him. He can toss it away or give it to someone. Both are fine with him. There’s no point in keeping it anyways. Getting rid of it would at least stop them from getting into another argument whenever it’s mentioned.
Wang Chao recalled something else and asked, “She asked to borrow money from you last year, did she return it eventually?”
Xie Zhuxing said, “She returned it long ago, didn’t borrow that much either.”
Wang Chao didn’t really believe him, but he didn’t have any evidence to doubt him. He doesn’t even know how much money he has himself. How would he know the ins and outs of Xie Zhuxing’s finances? But he’s got to make his threats clear, “She’s better returned it, or else…” He paused. Ah, fuck, he forgot to draft the threat before he spoke. Or else…then what?
Xie Zhuxing, “…Or else what?”
Wang Chao blurted, “Your daddy here will hunt her down for you!”
Xie Zhuxing almost laughed but stifled it. Laughing at him so soon after they argued would definitely lead to another argument.
Wang Chao was embarrassed for a few seconds too, but soon, his shameless nature returned as he reached to stroke Xie Zhuxing’s thighs.
Xie Zhuxing said, “Lots of cars on the road, don’t fool around.”
Wang Chao stroked twice before he stopped. “We’ve been together for so long, how come you’re still acting so idiotically straight?” He mumbled as he retracted his hand.
Xie Zhuxing thought to himself, it’s you. You’re the little idiot.
Wang Chao was still sitting cross-legged. Dangling his feet, he said, “I don’t actually care much about that damn ring. Had you said something nice earlier, I wouldn’t have been bored enough to argue with you about this.”
Xie Zhuxing said, “What counts as something nice? You asked me something, and I answered it. How’s this not good enough?”
Wang Chao complained, “And you still wonder why I call you idiotically straight? When I was angry just now and said if you dare to leave we’ll break up, what the fuck did you say in response? That we should just break up? You’re lucky that I’m not an average person, and saved our relationship at such a key moment, or else how would this argumend end? Won’t you regret if we broke up over something this minor?”
It would have been fine had he not brought this up, but he did. Xie Zhuxing’s angry about it too, “Only you are allowed to be angry, but I’m not? Why did you mention breaking up out of nowhere? If we really broke up because of something like this, let’s see who’s going to regret it.”
Wang Chao, “…”
Xie Zhuxing, “…”
Both thought about it, and both regretted it.
Wang Chao turned to look out the window and mumbled, “At the end of the day, I’m the bottom, would it kill you to coddle me a little?”
Xie Zhuxing’s heart softened. “That was my bad. I knew you have no filter on your mouth, but I ended up going with your words, I really shouldn’t have,” said him in a lower voice.
This counts as coddling!? You’re the one with no filter! Xie Zhuxing is beyond saving at this point. He cannot possibly act more straight!
Wang Chao couldn’t think of any other option and had to reply, “Alright, I won’t bring up random things in the future either.”
But he’s not willing to give in. “I can’t stop myself from talking, and it would be great if I can give some of that trait to you. Can you stop being so quiet all the time? I wasn’t even that angry, but you were so quiet the whole time, do you know how infuriating that is? Can you just speak whenever you want to in the future?”
Xie Zhuxing, “…Okay.”
His attitude is good. That’s good enough for today.
Wang Chao stroked his thigh again and said, “Whoever mentions breaking up in the future will be the asshole of the relationship.”
When they arrived home, he went to take a piss. When he got out, Xie Zhuxing had taken his shirt off and was bare-chested, about to change into another outfit, the lines of his muscle on his back and waist smooth and taut.
He scanned him from head to toe and called him, “Hubby.”
“Yeah?”
He tugged on the other man’s shirt, preventing him from pulling it over his head, urging him impatiently, “Put it on later, let’s fuck first.”
Despite his horniness, Xie Zhuxing was not in the mood and put on a serious face, “I need to ask you something.”
“…What thing?”
Xie Zhuxing pursed his lips and said, “The fact that college classmate of yours was able to release a single, were you involved?”
Since he said he shouldn’t bottle everything up. Well, he’s bottled this thing up for ages.
Wang Chao blinked twice and said, “What single? Which classmate?”
Xie Zhuxing glanced at him, “Keep pretending.”
Wang Chao knows how to boast, but he’s not good at acting or lying at all. “I only put in a word to our company,” he had to admit.
“Aren’t you annoyed by him?”
Wang Chao winced and chose his words carefully, “Don’t get mad at me for this.”
Xie Zhuxing only stared at him.
“Well…The leading single of our second album was originally written by him. His studio’s manager changed the name to his own and turned it to the company, and he was kept in the dark the entire time. Only until the song was released and became popular did he realize his creation was stolen by someone else.”
These types of things are actually quite normal in the domestic music market. If an already popular song has copyright issues, even if the singer doesn’t know about it, it would cause negative influence. Not to mention anything else, whether this song can be used in commercial performances will already be a huge problem.
“What’s so taboo about this that you had to keep it a secret from me?”
Wang Chao scratched his head and said, “I just…didn’t want you to know that he was the one who wrote it.”
This song is basically a token of their relationship.
And finding out that it was written by that dude…it’s a bit vexing.
