Over an hour later, Xiang Yi Mo “woke up”. She stepped out of the lounge and met the man’s gaze as it landed on her. She thanked him, “You’ve seen me making a fool of myself.”
“Not at all.” Ji Heng Yu’s clean voice said, “You haven’t eaten lunch yet. Do you want to eat anything?”
“No trouble.” Xiang Yi Mo meekly said she had just woken up and ordered takeaway.
“In that case, you can have some desserts to fill your stomach first.”
Ji Heng Yu asked his secretary to bring out the tea and dessert. When Xiang Yi Mo saw one of the plates of desserts, she was stunned.
The delicate pink creamy coat was laced with tiny red diamond-like jelly particles, wrapped in an almost ball-like shape. There were crystal-clear amber wings on both sides, which were sugar paintings. [1]
On top, there was a fresh strawberry. It was perfect in lustre and shape as if it fell out of a painting.
It was undoubtedly her favourite little dessert, Flora’s Strawberry Mousse — Angel’s Kiss.
Unfortunately, this little dessert was a limited edition from time to time at Flora’s Dessert Shop in the capital.
It was always in short supply.
There were several times when she couldn’t buy it herself, and she could only wait for Qin Chu to have it delivered to her each time. Especially during these eight years, the Angel’s Kiss was out of stock.
The manager of Flora’s Dessert Shop told her that it was because the pastry chef who made the dessert was out of town and had gone off to the army.
Xiang Yi Mo: God damn it, he’s gone into the army. Darn it!
The manager also said that they couldn’t make it because he didn’t leave the recipe behind and that they didn’t want to mimic it and ruin the reputation of the dessert.
Only the pastry chef could make it, so that was why the Angel’s Kiss was in short supply.
It was only until today did she see Angels Kiss again.
Thinking of the eight years she had lost her love, and now that she had found it again, she was so excited that she wanted to tell the pastry chef with tears in her eyes that either the person or the recipe should stay!
Ji Heng Yu was working on the task at hand and occasionally glanced over to Xiang Yi Mo.
He saw her eyes arched, and her little face was full of joy. She took a small bite of the strawberry mousse, forking the top into her mouth.
The little mouth opened and closed, biting off the tip of the strawberry.
The fruit flesh broke, oozing out little vibrant red strawberry juice and staining her lips, adding makeup to the little mouth.
It was so soft and red, so delicate, so silently seductive.
Ji Heng Yu’s phoenix eyes darkened as he silently stared at the opening and closing of her mouth. He recalled the taste in his mouth just now. It was soft and tender, and the aroma kept permeating the air.
The prominent Adam’s apple bobbed, and his thin, light-coloured lips pursed into a beautiful straight line.
The sound of Love Value increasing rang inside her head. The smile intensified in the curved eyes.
A soft voice uttered a “thank you” from her sweetly smeared little mouth.
“Thank you for what?” His tone picked up with a hint of confusion.
“I enjoyed the dessert. Thank you.” Xiang Yi Mo raised her hand to the small plate in her hand to indicate.
Only then did Ji Heng Yu take a closer look at the plate of dessert.
Even though she had already eaten half of it, he still recognised the dessert by the appearance of the remaining half.
“Wang Chen sent that piece of mousse.”
“Lu Wang Chen…?”
“Mm. But speaking of which, Angel’s Kiss was made by Wang Chen back in the day according to his impression of Mo Mo.”
Ji Heng Yu thought of something and casually said this as he followed his line of thought, even though he realised the shocking waves his words would set off in Xiang Yi Mo’s heart.
“Lu Wang Chen created a…dessert for me?” Xiang Yi Mo’s little head was still in a state of shock. The voice that subconsciously filled out of her throat was tinged with a bit of ambiguity.
She quickly flipped through her memory, all those years related to Angel’s Kiss, and all at once implicated many other blind spots.
Including the angel’s kiss, there had been many gifts she had received that she liked that she had thought were from Qin Chu. In fact, only the person who passed the gift to her said it was from Qin Chu.
No wonder sometimes, when she received a gift and thanked Qin Chu happily, Qin Chu appeared to be a little confused at first.
She didn’t bother to look into it back then.
Now that she thought about it, something was amiss.
Xiang Yi Mo had a whistling suspicion in her heart.
“Have the three of you, Ji Heng Yu,  Lu Wang Chen, and Jing Qian, always been sending me gifts in Qin Chu’s name over the years?” She didn’t beat around the bush and went straight to the point with that doubt in mind.
The soft voice sounded, and Ji Heng Yu’s movements faltered slightly as if he was caught off guard by someone exposing his secret. The room fell into an eerie silence for a while.
Time ticked away.
Ji Heng Yu appeared to prepare himself for this mentally. He touched her terrifyingly dazzling eyes as his lips curled imperceptibly.
He let out a soft sigh and said lazily, “Yes….”
