Chapter 19
Bai YueSheng: “… you’re joking!”\nAh Jiu: “I wish.”
Bai YueSheng couldn’t believe it. “How can Jeremy or Qiu ChangFeng come to Sienn?”
Ah Jiu knew he was trying to escape from reality so he very willingly continued to provoke him. “If they can go to Earth, why can’t they go to Sienn?”
Bai YueSheng couldn’t accept this. “If they can do it why didn’t they do it before?”
Ah Jiu: “Previously you also weren’t doing a promotional mission.”
Bai YueSheng: “….” He couldn’t argue with this.
As expected this promotion mission wasn’t as simple as he thought. But why did he have to get caught up with all these ex boyfriends? It simply wasn’t logical!
Bai YueSheng calmed down. He didn’t ask Ah Jiu “Why would I return to Earth after confessing to Neil”, because he already knew the answer.
After all these years together, he knew Ah Jiu’s way of doing things. He knew he had compiled all the previous data and analyzed it to get this conclusion.
Bai YueSheng thought for while and then said, “The side mission was triggered by Neil Maine, so to end the mission I need to fulfil Neil’s wish?”
Ah Jiu: “That’s right. It seems that this black dragon’s feelings for you are very deep.” The last words carried a tone of ridicule.
Bai YueSheng was used to this and didn’t pay it any mind. He was thinking… Ah Jiu’s IQ was very high however his EQ was very normal. Don’t rely on a ten thousand year old lolicon system to understand anything about romance, especially homosexual romance. So Bai YueSheng thought that probably just saying “I like you” would be insufficient.
Bai YueSheng asked, “How much time do I have?” He was referring to how much time he had before Jeremy or Qiu ChangFeng or one of his other ex-boyfriends (his heart was really very tired) came.
Ah Jiu estimated: “Around 3 days.”
Bai YueSheng took a deep breath. “That’s too short!”
Ah Jiu threw two words at him: “Add oil.”
His mind became quiet and Bai YueSheng also had a plan.
Three days time was too short so he had to increase his speed. Saying “I like you” was nothing, even if it wasn’t successful he might be able to get some more information.
After making up his mind, Bai YueSheng now didn’t want to roll into bed with Neil Maine. This guy’s body strength was too high and he was naturally “gifted”. If they really did it wouldn’t just be three days! Then probably there would be a scene of the ex-boyfriend catching them red-handed in bed together, the thought was damn terrifying!
Bai YueSheng could barely breathe from the kiss so he pushed Neil away. Neil didn’t continue.
He continued to stare at him, his golden eyes was so bright that it was actually more difficult to see what lay beneath them.
Bai YueSheng narrowed his eyes and said softly, “Neil…”
Neil Maine, “Yes?”
Bai YueSheng tried to avoid his gaze. “Arisson said that three outside was brought by you as a… bride price?” After speaking a flush swiftly rose onto his pale skin until even the tips of his pointed ears became slightly red. The appearance was very mesmerizing.
Neil Maine throat moved as he swallowed.
Bai YueSheng had raised his head. His pair of emerald-like eyes were flowed with complex emotions. The appearance was like the natural resources from the Tree of Life: warm, beautiful and tender. He said, “Neil, do you like me?”
He stared unblinkingly at Neil as though e was anxiously awaiting his answer, but the truth was he didn’t want to miss any clues given by Neil’s expression.
However Neil didn’t seem surprised by this sudden confession and he didn’t give any hint of joy. He looked exactly as he usually did. A small smile was on his lips and he looked charmingly gorgeous but there was no real deep emotion showing at all.
Bai YueSheng had some suspicions in his heart but his tender facial expression didn’t change. He said softly, “Actually I like you as well. I’ve always liked you. Except you told me that you already have someone that you like so I…”
He stopped here as though he was too embarrassed to continue, bowing his head. Long silver hair cascaded past his ear and down his chest, revealing a fragile and unusually white neck.
Neil Maine stared at him unblinkingly. There was a smile on his face but his heart was cold.
He had heard the words he had always dreamed of hearing, but he knew it was only an act.
Neil Maine’s voice was graceful and elegant. “I do already have someone that I like.”
Bai YueSheng’s body froze.
Neil Maine continued softly, “Even now I still like him.”
Bai YueSheng’s face paled. “From the winged race?”
Neil Maine, “Yes.”
Bai YueSheng raised his head to look at him, his eyes were visibly stunned. “It’s been so many years…”
Neil only smiled. His golden eyes were as though a layer of shining gold on an ocean warmed by sunlight. On the surface it was bright and sunny, but underneath in the depths there was a thousand year old emotion deeply carved into the bone. “I will always like him. Always, always.”
Bai YueSheng’s lips trembled slightly. After a moment he asked, “Then why did you bring the Tree of Life as a bride price…”
“At that time you were dead.”
Bai YueSheng didn’t quite understand.
Neil’s voice was extremely light and casual. “If I married you, even if you were already dead, then this new elven territory would belong to me.”
Bai YueSheng didn’t speak. He stood rooted to the spot, not moving at all.
Ah Jiu: “I must have miscalculated. This dragon doesn’t like you.”
Bai YueSheng didn’t reply to him.
Ah Jiu paused then said: “This is better anyway. Then even if one of the others comes to Sienn then we don’t need to…”
“Ah Jiu are you worried about me?”
Ah Jiu: “…”
Bai YueSheng’s whole face had become dark. “I don’t think you’ve been this worried since the third world!”
Ah Jiu: “……”
Bai YueSheng knew how thin skinned his system was. Fearing he would get another “black mark”, he spoke properly, “The truth is the complete opposite. I’m scared Neil Maine’s feelings are too deep.” The emotional root had been buried too deep and too long, it had been tortured miserably like a frightened bird.
Bai YueSheng sighed heavily in his heart. However his expression was that of a disappointed person who had made a failed confession, he even looked as though he wasn’t ready to give up. “If it’s like this then why didn’t you bring me back?”
Neil Maine didn’t speak.
Bai YueSheng had already thought of an answer for him. His face went even whiter, a layer of mist rose into his eyes and looked as though it would at any moment condense into liquid, so he opened his eyes wide. “It was… LuoLuo wasn’t it? It was LuoLuo who brought me back.”
Neil Maine didn’t deny it.
Bai YueSheng finally found an avenue of retreat. He left quickly, fleeing as though he was being chased by someone.
Neil Maine however remained in the same place. His waist-length loose-flowing blonde hair made the entire palace appear bright, but unfortunately it couldn’t light the darkness inside his heart and even more couldn’t awaken the other person’s calmly beating heart – that heart that didn’t belong to him.
Bai YueSheng had found a good reason not to see Neil Maine.
After all anyone whose confession had failed wouldn’t be able to hang out normally.
He really needed this time to investigate some things he had overlooked before.
His mission in Sienn was to “find the golden dragon”. That was mission with a high difficulty but what Bai YueSheng didn’t expect was that the target of the mission had been right under his nose.
After Bai Yuesheng had been in this plane for twelve years, Neil’s power had spread rapidly. He had acquired the giant clan, conquered the beast clan and after joining with the vampire clan, he finally turned his attention towards defeating the dragon clan.
{T/N: It literally said “blood clan” but I think this means vampires. That’s what it seems like when I Google it.}
That was a period of turmoil and unrest. It was during that war that Bai YueSheng fell into the trap set by the dwarves and was rescued by LuoLuo. And to save LuoLuo in return he became further indebted to Neil Maine, and became an important cornerstone in helping him defeat the dragons.
From being cooperative partners to fighting side by side in the war, it was not until they ascended to the Empty Isle, that Bai YueSheng finally discovered the truth.
The so-called prophesied to destroy the world black dragon, it actuality it was just a case of jealousy and deception.
Neil Maine was born as the glorious gold dragon, destined to become the next leader of the dragon race. However because his birth mother had already passed away hundred of years before (dragons are hatched from eggs), the first person who saw him was his stepmother. The stepmother had also given birth to two eggs and of course he didn’t want this “destined to be the next leader” gold dragon next to her own children. She cruelly dug out his dragon core and placed in a demon core, and forcibly turned the golden dragon who represented light into a black dragon who represented destruction.
{T/N: The word is actually “dragon soul” but I didn’t want people to think that he’s like been possessed by something else, so I replaced the word with core which I’ve seen some other translations use.}
The dragon race tried to immediately kill this creature which should have been born. After his dragon bone root was torn out, Neil Maine should have died. However he survived by pure tenacious perseverance, and really transformed into this “destroy the world” black dragon.
Bai YueSheng could never have expected that the black dragon who shared his pillow and bed was his target this whole time.
Now he finally understood the real meaning of his mission.
Finding the gold dragon, meant really finding it.
Neil Maine was no longer a gold dragon, because his dragon core had been discarded. Only if it could be retrieved then the gold dragon could be “reborn”.
From that day onwards Bai YueSheng really begun to place all his focus on Neil Maine.
As he recalled these memories, Bai YueSheng remembered back in those days he had cultivated some undercover spies…
“Ah Sheng!” A warm voice was coming closer. Bai YueSheng stretched out his arm and the camellia flower rushed into his embrace.
Bai YueSheng squeezed those thick leaves. “Woke up?”
LuoLuo rubbed itself his arms for awhile until his whole body was filled with the scent of flowers. Then it raised its head and said, “Ah Sheng I have something to tell you.”
“Yes?” Bai YueSheng was a bit curious. This fat flower sprite was naturally naive and couldn’t hide anything, so it was rare to see it give such an uneasy expression.
“When you were captured by the dwarves, the person who saved you wasn’t me…”
Bai YueSheng was startled. “What?”
LuoLuo shook its head then said, “Actually that’s not right either. It was me, but it wasn’t me. Ahhhhh how should I explain it! Black Luo, he isn’t me!”
