\n\nThis the overflowing, vibrant city of Art. Merchants come and go during the day and adventurers crowd the streets at night.\n\nBut, the stronger the light, the darker the shadows that you want to turn away from.\n\nThat’s the slum district, the northwest part of the city of art, isolated by a high wall.\n\nTwo hundred years ago the demons came overflowing from underground, the scars they caused are still here.\n\nThe corpses that resulted from the defensive battles at the time – human and demon alike – were thrown to this place and abandoned.\n\nPeople who feared the stain of death never went near this place. The wounded and sick, or children who had lost their parents, were pushed into this accursed place and abandoned.\n\nThey were abandoned even after the great ward was constructed by G. Art and the city was restored to peace.\n\nAs time went on, the inhabitants were replaced. It became the perfect hiding place for wanted men and bandits, and security continued to deteriorate.\n\nEven after the Star Church took control, the reconstruction ignored that area and public security never recovered.\n\nThe impoverished are now pouring in here and have established a lifestyle different from the other districts.\n\nCrude dwellings are set up in between the derelict buildings, and the trade of stolen goods is thriving. It’s not clear how many people live there.\n\n\nOccasionally, the church guards come to patrol the area, but they don’t even pay attention to the bodies that are left in the open. Their purpose is not to maintain security in this area, but something else.\n\nProtect yourself. If you don’t want to die, stab them first. This is the unspoken rule of the slum area.\n\nThose who fail to do so are naturally weeded out.\n\n\nIn one corner of the slum area, there is a shop so dilapidated that the roof looks as if it might fall down at any moment.\n\nThe cracked windows are tarnished, the store is poorly lit, and spiders have set up cobwebs everywhere.\n\nThe shelves are cluttered with experimental magical tools of unknown use, all of which are covered with a thick layer of dust.\n\nIt doesn’t get decent customers, but there’s a good amount of people coming and going. There is a demand for a certain demographic.\n\nOf course, they don’t come here to buy low quality goods.\n\nA man with a violet cloth hood covering his face comes into the store. He wears a purple cloak and holds his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw it at any time. He is what you might call a troublemaker.\n\nHe places the large bag he is holding in his left hand on the counter and rings a small bell.\n\nA thick smell of “incense” fills the dreary store. The man frowns at the stuffy smell, but it’s the same as always, so he puts up with it.\n\n\n“Welcome. Oh, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you.”\n\n\nA man emerges from the darkness at the back with a croaky voice. This eerie man is the owner of this shop.\n\nHe wears a dark green hood and robe, and it’s impossible to get a glimpse of his face.\n\n\n“Yeah, I’ve been busy with my main job.”\n\n“That’s enviable. Huh.”\n\n\nThe owner of the store laughs with a strange sounding tone.\n\nThey generally don’t have any unnecessary conversations, but today they are talking to each other more than usual.\n\nAt worst, they don’t even speak to each other.\n\n\n“I want you to extract this. The amount might be a problem.”\n\n“There’s no problem. It doesn’t matter how much you bring. It’s my job, you know. Now, I’ll be back in a moment.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper grabs the bag and goes to the back of the store.\n\nThose who are expelled from the guild for any reason will have no way to redeem their demon parts. This is because they will no longer be able to exchange them at the guild.\n\nBut even a bounty target or a man with history needs money to survive.\n\nEven if you target adventurers in your hunts, demons are common in the underground labyrinth.\n\nBecause whether you are a bounty target or an adventurer, you are both humans. From a demon’s point of view, both are simply prey.\n\nThe demons parts will accumulate even if you don’t actively hunt for them, but there is no way to exchange them. That’s where the illegal appraisers, who work without the approval of the Star Church, come into play.\n\nThere are a good number of illegal appraisers, most of whom are hiding in this slum area.\n\nIf they are found by the church outside of the slum area, they would be charged as heretics and given the death penalty.\n\nBut the only reason they are allowed in the slums is because the church turns a blind eye to them. This is because, after all, the extracted demonic essence is ultimately delivered to the church.\n\nThe reason why the guards from the church come to the slums is because they are in charge of retrieving the demonic essence. Ostensibly, this is in the name of collecting the demonic essence crystals that are rarely obtained in the underground labyrinth.\n\nThe church can collect demonic essence cheaper than the normal guild market price, and people can get money for the demon parts that they have no use for. The illegal appraisers only have to perform extraction work, and they can get money without fighting.\n\nThe current policy of the church is that it doesn’t matter how they do it, as long as they can gather the demonic essence.\n\n\nHowever, the upper echelons of the Star Church are not united in their opinion.\n\nCardinal Ilgachev, who is second in rank to Pope Elena, is of the opinion that the accumulation of magic elements is the first priority and that some things can be tolerated.\n\nHe represents the church’s more radical conservative faction.\n\nOn the other hand, Bishop Nicaraguan, a reformist, has called for an immediate crackdown on the distribution of demonic essence in order to ensure that it is strictly controlled. He says that the distribution of unmanageable demonic essence is extremely dangerous.\n\nIt’s because there are some illegal appraisers who collect extracted demonic essence for their own purposes.\n\n— like the owner of this store.\n\n\n“Thank you for waiting. Here’s what I extracted. It is a decent amount.”\n\n“Yeah, I got a little overzealous.”\n\n“I’ve taken your payment in advance Thank you for your understanding.”\n\n“I know.”\n\n\nThe fee is paid with the demonic essence extracted, that’s the way this shop works.\n\nEvery customer asks, “How many did take?” but there is no way to confirm it. The general market price is determined.\n\nIn the first place, if the illegal appraisers didn’t extract them, the parts of the demons would be nothing more than trash.\n\nEven for a illegal appraiser, if they try to overcharge they will lose customers and might be in danger of losing their life. Because the only people who will be customers in the first place are the crazy ones who think nothing of killing people.\n\n–Though the owner of this store is also one of them.\n\n\n“Well, please check it.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper shows the flask. It’s filled with black, shiny, gem-like objects that have a sinister glow to them.\n\nThese are the crystals of demonic essence which can be extracted from demons. In order to collect these crystals, adventurers go into the underground labyrinth to hunt demons.\n\nThese materials can be infused into weapons and armor using a special technique. When melted and compounded, it becomes a magical potion that restores magic power. It is also highly valued as an ingredient in magic tools. The more you use, the more effective it becomes, so there is no need to worry about having too much.\n\nThe biggest reason why the Star Church has expanded in power so much is because of demonic essence. The armor and weapons that use it are so powerful that they are worth a small fortune. The demonic essence, the raw material for that equipment, can only be obtained in this underground labyrinth. The Star Church, which has a monopoly on it, receives huge profits.\n\n\n“Will you exchange it here? Or do you want to take it back with you?”\n\n“I don’t want any guards bothering me, so I’ll take the money.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper weights the crystals and pulls out the money. When the shopkeeper tells him the price, the man nods that there are no problems.\n\nAfter receiving the money, the shopkeeper stops the man who is about to leave quickly with a whisper.\n\n\n“Do you have anything interesting to tell me? When you live here, you don’t hear a lot of about what’s going on in the world.”\n\n\nThe man could have ignored it, but he decided that since he always used the shop, he wouldn’t mind talking a little longer.\n\n\n
\n“Nothing unusual happening here. It’s still the same rotten, wonderful world.

..That reminds me, I heard that Salvadore the trapper was killed.”\n\n“
Oh. That trickster was? Well, well.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper shows interest and the man continues his story.\n\n\n“A little fledgling girl did it, the whole pub was abuzz with talk about it. I didn’t see her, so I can’t say for sure.”\n\n“Little girl? A little fledgling girl killed that Salvadore? That’s somewhat amazing.”\n\n“My informant says she calls herself a hero. That’s very gallant of her. Or maybe she’s just an idiot. Well, a fool wouldn’t be able to kill Salvadore.”\n\n“A hero! An young girl who’s a hero! Oh, that’s even better!”\n\n\nAs the shopkeeper squeals with delight, the man takes a step back and continues his story.\n\n\n“

..I heard she’s working with the Art’s youngest child. Well, for someone who claims to be a her, I hear she still only has a temporary permit.”\n\n“Hmm, I see. So she will be in the upper levels of the labyrinth for the time being. That’s some very nice information.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper repeats the information he got from the man over and over again as if he were ticking away.\n\n\nThe owner of the store repeats the information he’s heard from the man over and over again.\n
“What, are you that interested. That’s unusual for you”\n\n\nHe doesn’t remember having such a long conversation with the shopkeeper, so the man asks him a question.\n\n\n“No, I am extremely curious to see what that hero girl looks like. She is good enough to take out that Salvadore. I am sure she is brimming with talent. It’s really, really wonderful. Then how beautiful is the brilliance of the girl’s eyes? I’m very curious. Aaa, wonderful. How wonderful it is!”\n\n\nThe owner scratched his head as he yelled out his praise. The hood comes off, revealing the face of a decrepit, white-haired man. His eyes filled with insanity.\n\n\n“Well I don’t really care, though. Though, I’m sure she has the reward money from the bounty with her, so I’m interested in that. I’d love to join forces.”\n\n“Money? For money? I don’t care about the money she has! What I’m concerned about is that marvellous girl’s eyes, the eyes! How beautiful her eyes are, that’s all that matters! Oh, I’m so curious about it. What shape and color are her eyeballs? I want to hold them in my hand and observe every inch of them. I want to lick it carefully with my tongue to see if they are worthy. Oh, I’m so troubled. I can’t stand it.\n
The excited shopkeeper makes a rolling gesture with his wrinkled hands as if he was playing with the eyeballs.\n\nThe disturbed man involuntarily opens his mouth.\n\n\n“O, oi”\n\n“Kuku, I’d love to meet you. If i could, I’d do it right now! Oh, I’m so excited, I can’t stand still!”\n\n\nAs he exclaims so, the shopkeeper begins to move his body.\n\nThe man felt freaked out and decided to quickly pull away. He didn’t have time to deal with the ravings of a madman. The smell in this place is too harsh to stay for very long. He was about to reach his limit.\n\n\n“
.Now that you’re satisfied, I’m going back. I’ll be back again.”\n\n“Thank you for the wonderful and useful information. I’ll give you a lot of extra next time. You can count on it.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper suddenly reverted to a straight face and smiled like a gentleman. The crazy look he had just a moment ago is completely gone.\n\n\n“
..I’ll look forward to it.”\n\n“I look forward to seeing you again.”\n\n\nAs the man leaves the shop, the shopkeeper trots to the back room. This is the room the owner uses as a storage space for materials. It is filled with a smell of incense and something else that would surely make a normal person gag.\n\nAfter unlocking a door, he quietly opens it and enters the doll workshop. The light is completely blocked out the only thing providing illumination is a single candle. The room is spacious, with various instruments and magic tools placed on the workbench, and materials scattered throughout the room. All of these are used to make a certain doll.\n\nIn the center of the dimly lit room, a special magic circle with symbols written in blood is drawn in the middle of the room.\n\nOn top of the magic circle, the shopkeeper’s special doll is respectfully placed.\n\nAt the edge of the room, the remainder of the “materials” used to make the doll are placed haphazardly, giving off a strange smell. The smell of incense is meant to mask that scent.\n\nA lump of intact material is standing there with hollow eyes. After extracting the material, if he feels like it, he will use it for the doll. If he don’t feel like it, it is disposed of as is. Unfortunately, sometimes the material is broken and then it’s also discarded. Depending on the portion of the material you get, it will break often, so there’s no way around it.\n\nThere were thirty lumps of material, arranged in evenly spaced rows. The shopkeeper takes a boring glance at them. He lost interest in them. They don’t matter.\n\nThe shopkeeper holds the special “doll” which he was making made. He holds it with all his strength so that no one can take it away from him.\n\n\n
\n“Fufufu, it’s almost there. She’s almost finished. My lovely girl. My one and only beloved daughter. Your spirit is already here. I can feel your heartbeat, too. But it’s not finished. It’s not good enough yet. Oh, I can’t wait to hear your lovely voice. It will surely be a wonderful day”\n\n\nAfter holding her steadily for an hour or so, the shopkeeper is finally satisfied, and he cautiously lays her down on the magic circle again.\n\nHe crosses her hands over her chest and lovingly, gently strokes her hair. The shopkeeper’s face softens.\n\n\n“Ah, I shouldn’t. It’s time to eat, isn’t it? I almost forgot about it because you were so lovely. So, here’s the freshly extracted demonic essence.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper takes out newly extracted demonic essence and puts magic power in his palm. After uttering a single word of incantation, the crystal melts and the miasma flows into the doll.\n\nThe owner has been working on this seemingly endless task every day for three years without fail.\n\n\n“Hmmm, all that’s left are the ‘eyes’. I’ve tried many different kinds of eyes, but I couldn’t find one that was just right. However, I finally found a clue. The eyes the young hero girl must be wonderful. Oh, I can’t stay like this. I must gather information immediately. I need to buy some information and check her out with my own ‘eyes’. Busy, busy.”\n\n\nThe shopkeeper mutters to himself in a hasty voice. He scratches his head roughly and begins to prepare himself.\n\nHis beloved staff, the catalysts he took out of the broken materials. Furthermore, he prepares dozens of summoning cards for his homemade dolls.\n\n\n“Well then, let’s get going. Let’s bring back those wonderful days.”\n\n\nAfter dressing up as a sorcerer, the shopkeeper left the doll workshop in a good mood.\n\n\n–His name is Russ Nubes, the sorcerer. Also known as Russ the Puppeteer.\n\nHe specialized in the basic arts of moving and reinforcing objects. He was so adept at using the puppets he made for his own benefit, as if they were human beings, that he was nicknamed the Puppeteer. His superior talent and tireless efforts made him a master manipulator. He was also an excellent teacher, having trained a number of sorcerers. He was so trusted by the guild that he was though as a strong candidate for the next guild master.\n\nBut at a certain point he became mentally ill, went mad, and his good character completely changed. He had turned into a criminal.\n\nHe was expelled from the guild and a bounty was placed on his head for his many crimes.\n\nHe retaliated against his pursuers and went into hiding in the slums. While earning a living as a illegal appraiser, he collected materials and demonic essence from the city and the labyrinth, and has been experimenting with these materials many times.\n\nAmong the many bounty targets, he is one of the most feared because of his ability and cruelty.\n\n\n\n\n◆\n\n\n\n“It seems like you were hunting rabbits today, not rats. This is quite the amount.”\n\n“Yes! We were able to hunt very efficiently. Today we can have an extravagant feast.”\n\n“Alright, let’s get some good food when we cash in. I’m starving.”\n\n“If you want good food I know just the place! This city is like my backyard!”\n\n“Well, of course you do. It’s your hometown.”\n\n\nYuusha and Matari just returned from the labyrinth. Today, they copied other groups and tried a fixed-point hunt. It seems that the spots where the head-hunting rabbits appear are always the same, so they found it easier to hunt them by waiting for them to appear rather than moving around aimlessly.\n\nMatari was at the mercy of their speed at first, but now she is able to fight them reliably. Yuusha taught her and demonstrated it, and Matari adopted it. Although poorly trained, they were able to coordinate.\n\n\n“A-, you still have quite a bit of blood on you. I guess just a washcloth isn’t tnough.”\n\n\nthey removed enough blood that gatekeepers wouldn’t get mad at them, but no matter how you look at it, you can see that they have been in a fight. They also smell of blood. It’s not that noticeable in this city, though. It’s a bizarre town where adventurers come and go, fully armed and armored.\n\n\n“We have to wash up thoroughly after we return. And it’s important to take care of the armor.”\n\n“Also, the master would nag us again.”\n\n\nApparently the master of the Paradise Pavilion is a neat freak and gets annoyed when people walk around in dirty clothes. The last time she did so she was taken to the bath in the inn and washed off her armor. She was told to go there to wash herself from then onwards.\n\nYuusha thought that he must be very fussy about being fashionable, as he had a perfectly groomed little beard.\n\n\n“Oh, the warrior’s guild has a bath as well, so let’s wash up there.”\n\n“Let’s do that. I want to get cleaned up so we can eat some tasty food.”\n\n\nYuusha wipes the dried blood from her hair.\n\n\n“Which reminds me, Yuusha, don’t you wear a helmet?”\n\n“I don’t need a helmet because it’s heavy, stuffy, and it limits my vision.”\n\n“I didn’t have the money, so I couldn’t buy a helmet. If it’s going to limit my vision, maybe I shouldn’t buy it?”\n\n“No, you should definitely wear it. That way you won’t bang your head against a wall and die.”\n\n“Wal-, I’m not stupid enough to bang my head against a wall. And besides where’s that wall?”\n\n\nMatari denies it, but Yuusha doesn’t take her seriously. A helmet will be essential for this boar, who only knows to rushing forward.\n\nIt’s hard to say that she won’t get hit by the full force of a blow and accidentaly crash into the wall.\n\nBesides, a normal person will die from a serious head wound. There’s no better way to protect it than to cover it up.\n\nAnd there’s the bonus of making headbutts stronger.\n\nThe reason why Yuusha don’t need a helmets is partly because of her vision, but also because it’s easier for her to fight without one.\n\nIf you expose your weak spot, it’s easier to read where your opponent is going to aim. It’s surprisingly difficult to aim at the head, so it’s easy to judge when your opponent is aiming for it.\n\nEven if her head is crushed, there is no problem as long you just recover it. That’s why the hero don’t wear helmets.\n\n\n“Okay, our next goal should be to find a helmet that suits you. What kind of tough look do you want? Should it have a big horn or something?”\n\n“No, no, just a plain unassuming one, please. I don’t need horns.”\n\n“At the very least, I’d like it to have wings. It will make it more fun to shop.”\n\n\nYuusha didn’t listen and began to ponder a lot of things.\n\n\n“Please listen to me
”\n\n\nWith a sighing Matari at her side, Yuusha slowly moves forward. Soon they will arrive at the Warrior’s Guild. They also serve alcohol there so a light drink won’t be a problem. She doesn’t mind getting drunk since they are done fighting for today.\n\n\n–A boy who was sitting in front of the guild seems to have noticed Yuusha, and comes running while waving his hand.\n\nYuusha stares at him to see who it is. Matari seems to have identified him first and responds with a wave of her hand.\n\nIt’s the boy who tried to pickpocket Yuusha before and failed. She recalls his name being Cologne.\n\n\n“
.What does he want? Is he going to stab me with a knife out of nowhere? Tfor what I did before.”\n\n\nYuusha mutters something disturbing, and Matari laughs and dismisses it.\n\n\n“There’s no way that’s true. He’s got such a wide smile on his face.”\n\n“I’ve seen plenty of people stabbing people while laughing. It’ll be vigilant.”\n\n\nYuusha braced herself for the unexpected attack, but her worries were completely unnecessary. Koron abruptly stopped in front of Yuusha, and greeted them with a childlike, energetic voice.\n\n\n“Hey, Yuusha and Matari-neechan! I went to the Paradise Pavilion, but the old man at the bar said you’re at the underground labyrinth now. I thought I’d meet you here.”\n\n“What do you want? Are you having trouble with food again?”\n\n\nYuusha asks bluntly, and Koron shakes his head widely, saying no.\n
\n\n“We’re not troubled at all right now! The new guy who joined us is awesome! He’s giving us lots of food. There’s more food than we can eat, so I thought I’d give it out to all the people I’ve been bothering. So, here!”\n\n\nAs Koron presents a large leather bag, Yuusha takes it for now.\n\nAfter she opens it, inside she finds a green colored sphere. It seems to be a fruit of some kind, it’s distinctive feature being that the outside of the fruit is covered with a webbing.\n\nMatari, who looks at it from the side, exclaims in surprise.\n\n\n“Oh, that’s a Bertha melon! It’s a very rare and luxurious item! I’ve only had it once myself.”\n\n“Is it really that expensive? Could it possibly be delicious?”\n\n“Yes, it’s expensive and tastes great! It’s sweet and creamy, yet full of juice. I wish I could eat it again.”\n\n“It’s right in front of you.”\n\n“You can eat it with a spoon little by little, or you can take a big bite out of it. How nostalgic.”\n\n\nMatari has gone into her own world, so Yuusha speaks to Koron.\n\n\n“Are you sure you want give this stuff away? It would be better to sell for some money to live on–“\n\n“No, I don’t need money that bad. And he keeps telling me that I owe you a proper apology. He said it’s normal to apologize when you’ve done something wrong. That’s why, I’m sorry!”\n\n\nKoron bows his head deeply.\n\n\n“I don’t who what you mean exactly, but it’s fine. It’s not like you actually took anything from me.”\n\n“Then, thank you! Well, I’d better get going. It’s getting pretty late!”\n\n“Say hello to your new buddy for me. He gave us something really expensive.”\n\n“His face is little scary, but I’m sure you will get along! See you later!”\n\n\nKoron waved his hand and ran off again.\n\nMatari returned from her own world and mused with a smile.\n\n\n“I’m sure some caring and wealthy person has decided to take care of them. Maybe a new orphanage has been established. They haven’t been completely abandoned.”\n\n“Well, this means less pickpockets, less people bothered by them and less chance of them getting caught and punished.”\n\n\nYuusha felt a her hearth lighten a little. Maybe humans shouldn’t be given up on. She thought so, just a bit.\n\n\n“I’d love to come visit them sometime.”\n\n“When we get our search permit, maybe we can go kill some time. I’m sure we’ll get something tasty.”\n\n“We’ll take some gifts with us!”\n\n“Maybe some rabbit meat.”\n\n“That rabbit meat will definitely hurt their stomach!”\n\n\nThe two of them enter the guild with a lighthearted attitude.\n\nWhen they finished exchanging their demon parts, they decided to ask Rob to cut up the Bertha Melon. In the meantime, the two of them go to the bath and wash off the grime. They took care of their armor and cleaned off the moisture.\n\nWhen they returned, the melon had been cut cleanly and a cold drink was ready. A melon won’t for good snack with the alcohol, but it does make for a interesting story.\n\n\n
“Oh-, so that’s why you came back with such a luxurious thing. There are some weird rich people out there.”\n\n“You can have one if you want. I’m starting to get heartburn from eating something that sweet.”\n\n“Thank you for that.
that kid was a bit much. I knew it would end badly. When I tried to lecture him, he ran away. But, well, if he apologizes properly, they’ll forgive you with a light beating.”\n\n\n“Rob picks up one of the evenly cut melon pieces and bites into it”\n\nMatari already secured her share in advance. Seventy percent of the melon was taken by this woman. Yuusha reaffirmed her perception that she is a surprising woman. I have a feeling that she is a dangerous person when it’s about food.\n\n\n“It’s really delicious. I’m so happy.”\n\n“I’m really jealous of how happy you are.”\n\n\nAs Yuusha was dumbfounded, Rob suddenly shouts loudly at the entrance. Or is it correct to say that he raved?\n\n\n“Hey, Excel! You haven’t shown your face for the last three days, what the hell is wrong with you! You know you’ll be worried.”\n\n\nA young man called Excel, who has just returned, walks towards us. He is clad in armor and holds his helmet beneath his hand at the side.\n\nRob crosses his arms and cocks his eyebrows in a huff.\n\n\n“See, well, there’s a special situation.”\n\n\nExcel scratches his brown hair with an amible smile. Rob glares at him with a dubious stare.\n\n\n“

..another woman problem. You never learn.”\n\n\nRob holds his head in his hands.\n\n\n“No, it’s not a new woman! It’s about the three members of my group.”\n\n“Three is too many you idiot! I told you to narrow it down to one before it becomes a problem!”\n\n“No, I’m serious about all of them.”\n\n“Shut up! I don’t care if get stabbed in the back in the labyrinth!”\n\n\nRob yells harshly at him, and Excel shrinks.\n\n\n“A-haha, you know, I almost got stabbed the other day,”\n\n“Of course you did!
Then, did you talk about it properly?”\n\n“No, well, actually, you know, I, uh, I think I’m having a baby.”\n\n\nRob asks with a fatigued sigh at the sound of Excel’s fading voice.\n\n\n“
.Who’s is it. Is it the sorceress?”\n\n“N-no.”\n\n“So it’s the swordsman?”\n\n“N-no.”\n\n“Are you serious, then it’s the cleric. You’ve got all kinds of problems.”\n\n“A-all of them. All three of them, and, they’re due on the same day.”\n\n\nRob stares with blank eyes at Excel, who laughs bitterly with an ahaha. Yuusha and Matari give him a disdainful glance.\n\nIt doesn’t matter because it’s someone else’s life, but it’s completely up to you to decide how they feel about it.\n\nYuusha was very much aware that Excel was a disgusting man.\n\n\n“I’ve been thinking for a while now, you’re a top-notch swordsman, but as a human being you really are the worst.”\n\n“That’s a bit harsh”\n\n\nExcel’s face twitched. Yuusha agreed in her mind that he had struck at the root of the problem.\n\n\n“Well, it’s your life, you are free do what you want. I don’t care. I’ll just celebrate. Congratulations, really. But don’t you go near my wife or daughter. My daughter’s only five years old. If you come anywhere near her, I’ll kill you.”\n\n\nRob turns away and starts to bite into the rest of the melon.\n\n\n“Uhhh.”\n\n“I don’t know. I don’t want to hear it.”\n\n“In the end, I couldn’t settle on just one of them, so I decided to live with all of them now.”\n\n“I’m not listening.”\n\n“So since I need the money, I’ve decided to join a bounty hunter group on my own. I can’t take the girls into battle with me as they are.”\n\n\n‘I don’t know how he can say that when he had a baby while he’s exploring the labyrinth’, Yuusha rambled in her mind.\n\n\n“I don’t know.
.. so you will be a bounty hunter? Are you out of your mind?”\n\n“Of course I’m sane. It’s a great way to get a lot of money quickly. Fortunately, my name was fairly well-known, so they easily let me participate. If you have any advice, I’d love to hear it. The only person I can rely on is Rob.”\n\n\nYuusha glances to the side.\n\nExcel is fiddling with his sword. The sword looks moderately well built, and the armor he’s wearing looks pricey.\n\nExcel’s body seemed to be well trained despite his personality. His physique is not bad either. Since Rob acknowledges that he’s top-notch, he’s definitely skilled.\n\nYuusha turns to the front as it didn’t concern her, and gulps down her cold drink.\n\n\n“Ha, I can’t help it. I’ve been taking care of you for a while now. Bounty hunters need to prepare and take it seriously. If you attempt it carelessly and fail, you won’t get away with it. The bounty target will definitely torture and kill you. I’ll talk to you in the back and so follow me.”\n\n“Oh, yes.
