Chapter 4.1 - Marriage was successful, performing PDA
The citizens of Buddhist temple were waiting for the next part of the drama so eagerly that they were about to break down from the waiting.
They all felt like the couple were already like this.
Then were the two going to marry?
Then, they all got slapped.
Tang Xiao and Su Muzhe chose a time, midnight 12am, where there weren’t a lot of people and actually went to the temple of Yue Lao and registered to get married.
Once the system sent out a notification, the world’s citizens flared up again.
[World] Millions of lolis: I give in! It feels like this drama was just for the sake of showing off your PDA (public display of affection). It’s already so late at night and just as I was about to go offline, this happens. Now, I can’t even sleep.
[World] This emperor: d.a.m.n it! My G.o.d, my good friend just called me late at night to tell me to go online for some melodramatic drama. You guys are definitely doing it on purpose, purposely not letting people go to sleep.
[World] Parting song: .. it’s too stimulating.
[World] July: My G.o.d, Millions of lolis calls me in the middle of the night and I thought I was in ‘The Ring’. But looking at these messages, even ‘The Ring’ wasn’t this exciting!
[World] Tang poem: Alright, goodnight everyone, I’m going to sleep first.
[World] Millions of lolis: d.a.m.n it! You stir us all up and don’t let us go to sleep then run off to sleep by yourself? Where’s your humanity?
[World] Tang poem: I feel like our guild should add another guideline. No money, no morals, no dignity, no loyalty, no humanity. Oh and if you guys can’t sleep, you can jump off a building to calm yourselves down. That’s a fast way to sleep forever.
[World] Everyone: …...
The two main leads in this whole affair excited a whole bunch of people in the Buddhist temple and then firmly went offline to sleep.
The only result of too much excitement at night is no sleep.
And what happens when you can’t sleep? Continue mobbing!
[World] This emperor: d.a.m.n, I can’t sleep, is there anyone keen on killing monsters in the guild? Anyone up for one? 50? Teasing a boss? If no one’s up for it, I’ll ask again in a while.
[World] Millions of lolis: The person in the building upstairs! Bring me! I’ll go, I’ll go.
[World] Parting song: You’re a level 69 and you wanna take on a level 129 mission?
[World] Millions of lolis: As long as you don’t want face, nothing’s impossible! Let’s go!
[World] Parting song: ….
Buddhist temple server had never had such a large amount of people completing missions so late at night.
Even when they opened up new areas that year, the excitement level wasn’t this high.
The aftereffects of course, were that on the second day, those who were working were about to break down and those who went to school wanted to die …
Tang Xiao slept beautifully and on the second day, was woken up by her a.s.sistant Xiaolin.
“Tang Xiao, you better hurry and wake up.” Xiaolin rushed into her bedroom and threw a bunch of doc.u.ments at Tang Xiao’s face.
“G.o.dd.a.m.nit, what are you doing. I was having a dream that I just killed those Ranzhi Jiangshan beasts.” Tang Xiao suddenly woke up and carelessly threw the doc.u.ments on the ground.
“Mu Cheng’s a.s.sistant just came to our company and handed me a bunch of doc.u.ments. You can take a look at what it is. The whole way here, I thought it was definitely explosives. My G.o.d, Mu Cheng, ah! Mu Cheng’s a.s.sistant actually gave us doc.u.ments! Okay, wait, I need to go calm down.”
Xiaolin used her hand to support her stomach as she weakly went away.
Tang Xiao was still a bit muddleheaded but immediately woke up.
She was still laying across her bed as she looked at the doc.u.ment packet. When it had fallen down, it had opened and its contents had spilled out.
Mu Cheng’s posters all slipped out.
“d.a.m.n! Xiaolin, quickly get some bandages and red medicine, my male idol has fallen down! Aiyo! He needs me to kiss him before he can stand up! Chu~”
Tang Xiao stretched her upper body to reach for the posters.
Xiaolin could only look pained as she looked at Tang Xiao’s lovestruck face.
If it wasn’t for the fact that Tang Xiao’s face still had to be plastered on advertis.e.m.e.nts, she would’ve already grabbed a knife from the kitchen and sliced it open.
“Isn’t it just a poster? Pick it up and just blow on it.”
Tang Xiao was delighted as she happily pasted the posters on top of her headboard.
Su Muzhe was reliable, she had only given him her address last night and today, she had already received it!
“How did you get hooked up with his a.s.sistant? I heard that his a.s.sistant didn’t even eat dog p.o.o.p … no wait, what was he not supposed to eat? How does the saying go again?”
Xiaolin had been stopped at the entrance of their company in the morning by Mu Cheng’s a.s.sistant and up until now, was still half scared out of her wits.
Tang Xiao looked at her like she was looking at an idiot. “I really want to know how you got a job at this company with your level of knowledge and culture. Soft and hard! Soft! Hard!!!!!!!!!!!”
After she yelled, the two people looked at each other and from each other’s eyes, saw how dirty that phrase was.
“Say it again, how did you get hooked up with that a.s.sistant who doesn’t eat soft or hard.”
Tang Xiao touched her posters, her face expressionless. “Ranzhi Jiangshan’s Su Muzhe, you should remember, is the idiot who helped me get them. For this, I agreed to marry him, to mutually disgust him.”
“My G.o.d! The company doesn’t allow you play games so okay, so not only do you sneakily play games anyway, you do this stuff too? I’ll be the first to tell you, if anything happens, I will be honour-bound to watch you die.”
“....”
Xiaolin: “Oh and in a few days, you have another announcement. They want you to partic.i.p.ate in an event and apparently, Mu Cheng’s also invited. At that time, you should prepare yourself.”

TL note:
Yue Lao - G.o.d of matchmaking, Chinese legends say that he’s some old guy who deals with the red strings of fate that tie people together. So naturally, his temple is where people would register their marriages. In China, they normally first register their marriages, get their little red books and then have a reception later on.
Eat soft or hard - doesn’t take soft bribes or hard threats, so someone who’s unmovable and doesn’t change stances often.
I just re-read this for the second time and the novel really picks up at around 15 or so and later on, when they meet up in real life (!).
I’ll try to be more diligent and get chapters faster, so turn off your adblocks (please) or sponsor chapters for faster releases.
+ picture is from Chinese Paladin and one of the super cutest scenes in the series! It's a pretty old drama but I really loved Ah Nu.
Leave a comment and for more shameless Tang Xiao xx
