Chapter 9.2

A few days later, the project their department was in charge of was completed. When they got off work, Chi Yan asked everyone to sing again and a male colleague said: “Boss, will sister-in-law come too?”

“She has already gone back.”

“Ah? She went back so soon?”

“She originally took a leave to come and went back after staying for a few days.”

“Brother Chi, isn’t it hard to be in a long-distance relationship?” a female colleague asked.

Chi Yan smiled and said, “It’s alright.”

Jiang Yuan listened to this silently and quickly turned off the computer and took her bag to get off work. Chi Yan came over and said, “We’ll all sing together later, won’t you go?”

Jiang Yuan Said: “Brother Chi, I won’t go, I have an appointment with a friend for dinner.”

In fact, there was no appointment.

Chi Yan insisted, “There are only two girls in our department, you and Qiao Huan so if you don’t go, she may find it boring and won’t go too. Only guys are even more boring so you can tell your friend to come and join us.”

As Jiang Yuan was always obedient, she nodded, “Okay then, Brother Chi.”

The group of seven people went in two cars. Qiao Huan and Jiang Yuan sat in Chi Yan’s car and the other four people in another car.

Qiao Huan chatted with Chi Yan all the way but Jiang Yuan rarely spoke. There were two times when Chi Yan took the initiative to stir up a conversation with Jiang Yuan but she only responded with a smile and didn’t say much. After a while, she pretended to send a message to a friend and then told Chi Yan that her friend was not coming.

Jiang Yuan looked normal while eating, drinking and singing without being idle and didn’t shy away from Chi Yan and she was as soft and well-behaved as usual so no one noticed that her heart was actually bitter and difficult.

When it was over, Qiao Huan was picked up by her boyfriend and the other male colleagues also dispersed. Chi Yan said to Jiang Yuan, “I’ll take you back, it’s so late.”

Jiang Yuan wanted to refuse and raised his head but she bumped into Chi Yan’s deep and beautiful eyes. His eyes has the focus and tenderness that she always liked which made her lose her voice instantly.

Chi Yan took the opportunity to pull her and put her into the front of his car.

From the lively atmosphere to the solitude of two people, Jiang Yuan’s calmness and obedience can no longer be faked.

She believed that Chi Yan should have also noticed it more or less.

Sure enough, he said, “Little Jiang, you don’t seem too happy?”

Jiang Yuan was taken aback.

She didn’t know if he said this to ask her if him having a girlfriend was making her unhappy or if she was just in a bad mood now.

His apology easily aroused Jiang Yuan’s anger: “Why do you need to apologize to me?!”

Jiang Yuan held back the anger in her chest and calmly said;”Brother Chi, I will pretend that nothing happened in the past. In fact, nothing really happened between us. You are still my most respected boss and our relationship is nothing more than that. Whether I am unhappy or not has nothing to do with you.”

Her words made Chi Yan’s face a bit worse, “Jiang Yuan, between us, we have feelings for each other so why do you deny it? ”

Jiang Yuan said: “He Mi is a good girlfriend.” He Mi came over and just quietly declared her sovereignty without trying to make it seem like she’s a mistress and she was actually very grateful to her for that.

Chi Yan was silent for a while and said earnestly: “Give me some time and I will give you an explanation.”

Jiang Yuan said decisively: “No need.”

Just then the car arrived outside the community where Jiang Yuan lived. She unbuckled her seat belt to open the car door but couldn’t open it.

She turned to look at Chi Yan, “Brother Chi, please open the car door.”

Chi Yan grabbed her wrist, “Jiang Yuan, listen to me–”

Jiang Yuan went over and quickly pressed the switch of the central lock and then turned around to open the door and quickly got out of the car.

Chi Yan got out of the car in a hurry and chased after her . Before Jiang Yuan entered the gate , he held her, “Jiang Yuan, listen to me, I really like

you—” Jiang Yuan thought that it was ridiculous and she shook her head, “The person who likes me must be single, I’m a simple person so I don’t want to get involved in complicated feelings.” She glanced at the hand holding her, “Brother Chi, let me go, I’ll call you Brother Chi in the future.”

Chi Yan didn’t move.

Chi Yan suddenly took her to a dark corner and pressed her against the wall and restrained her with one of his hand and held her face with his other hand and kissed her.

Jiang Yuan struggled desperately. She even raised her foot to kick him. After pushing him away, she raised her hand and gave him a slap.

Both were frozen on the spot.

Jiang Yuan tidied herself up and without looking back at him again, she hurriedly entered her neighbourhood gate.
