Tondemo Skill ā 479.1 ā Idle Talk: What Happened to Elland⦠(Bonus Chapter)
Doranās Guild Masterās office was strangely silent.
The only thing that could be heard was the scratching of quills on documents, as well as the sound of papers being flipped over.
In the midst of the quill scratching and paper flipping sounds, the modest scrape of a chair being pushed back was unusually loud.
āWhere are you going, Elland?ā
The person who said this was the special Elvish supervisor sent by the Royal Capital Adventurerās Guild to monitor a certain Elvish Guild Master. Supervisor Moira-sama.
āT-to the t-toiletā¦ā
āHm~~ didnāt you just go about half an hour ago? Ah, apologies, age must be catching up to you. Even Elves suffer from age-related health issues, eh?ā
āā¦I-I-I think Iām fine after all!ā
Elland flinched from Moiraās sharp gaze and quickly scooted his chair back in place.
āSince youāre fine, keep working. If you donāt have to go at all, donāt keep moving around. Are you trying to test my patience?ā
āN-no! I mean, yes! I mean, no! Not testingā¦ā
Elland unhappily picked up his quill again, absolute defeat smothered his entire frame.
Knock knockā
āItās Ugor, may I come in?ā
āEnter.ā
The door opened with a quiet squeak and in came Vice Guild Master Ugor.
āThank you for your hard work, Moira-sama. I do hope our Guild Master did not give you any trouble?ā
āHaaahh⦠I must commend you for your patience. It must have been hard on you, having to put up with this incontinent fellow who has to visit the bathroom every hour even in my presence.ā
Veins suddenly popped up on Ugorās forehead.
āIdiot Master, what is the meaning of this?ā
āEh? No, that is, I mean, umā¦ā Elland quickly looked away, unable to face Ugor as sweat rained down his forehead.
āItās fine, this is just the first day,ā came Moiraās leisurely voice.
Elland breathed a sigh of relief from the unexpected support from Moira.
Unfortunately, the supportive remark was followed by a speculative frown on her beautiful face as she continued, āTo be honest, when I first heard about this personās craziness, I thought it was all an exaggeration. Surely such an idiot couldnāt exist?ā
Elland curled up in his seat like a frog being stared at by a snake. Moiraās eyes were like the gaze of a lazy snake, wondering if it was worth her time to take a bite out of this frog or just continue to laze in the sun.
āIt is most fascinating and unfortunate to find out that this kind of person really does exist. Even more so since this embarrassing fellow is of the race as me, and a holder of the most important Guild Master position. A position which he abandoned without qualms by the way~ā
Elland curled up even more at every word.
As someone who takes pride in her work and position, Moira considered Ellandās terrible behaviour as a personal affront.
āI have long since retired, but, it looks like I may have to return to work. This certainly looks like itās going to be a long-term job. Eh, since I have nothing better to do anyway, it really doesnāt matter how long this job lastsā¦ā
āTh-thatāsā¦ā Ellandās wail of despair filled the room.
Ignoring his boss with practised ease, Ugor said sincerely, āApologies for the inconvenience, Moira-sama. We thank you for your kind assistance.ā
āJust leave it to me. I shall train this useless trash into something useful,ā she said lazily.
āOoh, Iāll leave it to your capable hands!ā
Meanwhile, Elland was staring at nothing as his life was being discussed by these two workaholic tyrants.
From that day onwards, the once cheerful and lively Guild Master of Doran was often seen in a washed-out stateā¦
[Gumihou: Okay, I am maybe a little sorry for him.]
