~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The afternoon passed without incident.
Anyways, life felt better once I got rid of the burden from the shoe box incident.
Next was lab in the science room.
Today we’ll be practicing assembling electrical circuits and try to solve a problem given to us by our teacher using batteries and miniature bulbs.
Series circuits and the parallel circuits were discussed. And most people didn’t fully understand.
“Eh? You 4 are already done?”
I completed our project in no time, so I quickly submitted the report and homework.
“It’s because Yukiya-chan is really good at it.”
My group members then applauded me.
“Nah-. I’ve just done some electrical things at home.”
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
Though I wondered if there was a prejudice if girls were good at these kinds of things.
On the contrary, I was praised.
Once we’re done, we’ll head back to the homeroom for our final period.
Our homer The homeroom teacher distributed the 97th issue of our class’ bulletin. It’s enthusiastically titled “Friend News”. There’s an outbreak of common cold, so let’s take care in order to not catch it. Also, finals will be held soon. Our goal is to be first place in our year. Let’s not lose to class 2oom teacher gave us homework.
Well, for me, ranking doesn’t matter. But I don’t want to lose to (That person) Kouko.
The rest of the class was a journal introduction. A boy classmate, Maroka-kun, shared his experiences after returning from vacation. Touching on the history of the location and the people who guided him.
He is often sharing these kinds of stories from his trips. So his literary talent must be high.
– – I was always write a simple report, but I didn’t have anything to
really share today.
After finishing our goodbyes, it’s time for the after school club activities to begin.
“Yukiya-chan, Let’s go.”
Natsumi-chan then reached out to me.
Today I’m heading with her to the soft tennis club.
It is said that the boys and girls soft tennis clubs are virtually two different clubs with different advisors and activities.
Currently we can’t use the outside court because it’s covered in snow, so practice is only indoors.
The fine gymnasium has utilities that can be used for tennis, but since the basketball and volleyball clubs use the same space, it is decided to go on a rotation during the winter.
Today the basketball club is using the main space for physical training.
““Good work everyone!””
An energetic voice came from the first year soft tennis students met the senior club members.
Every time a senior student comes late due to committee activities, extra work, etc. The first years cheerfully greet them.
It’s a tradition for the girl’s club.
It’s different from the male counterpart, which is just chatting to each other doing their own thing while stretching.
“Hazuki-senpai, Please treat us well.”
The first years then cheerfully greeted us. As I thought, the juniors adore Natsumi-chan.
“Thank you, okay, let’s get the ball and racket out from storage and begin.”
“Yes understood.”
The juniors then moved to Natsumi-chan’s precise orders.
“Kitahara-senpai, please treat us well as well.”
I was then called out and welcomed as a senior.
“Ah, Y-es, thanks. . .”
I awkwardly replied.
They then smiled. . .
However their discipline was maintained thanks to Natsumi-chan.
It’s probably thanks to Natsumi-chan’s prestige that I’m not makin a fool of.
“Then shall we go too?”
“Y-Yeah. . .”
Now the trial of the changing room.
And the immense feeling of guilt.
The girls are all defenseless.
Taking off their clothes to only their underwear. . .
And the first years trust me.
I try not to look as much as possible, but I’ve gotten side glances here and there.
Kitahara-senpai’s skin is beautiful.
How are they so casual?
I can hear whispers and talks like that all the time.
After changing into my gym clothes, it’s time to start practice. Because the main part is being used by other clubs, we’ll be doing some practice on the side without using the court.
“Well, first we’ll do fifty practice swings.”
Next is exercise without rest.
Fu. . .Fu. . .This is surprisingly tiring.
It’s very different from what the men’s tennis club was doing.
They were just bantering with each other while they were supposed to be training.
In fact, there are many of the boys that left school without evening going to “practice”
“Hah hahh. . .Good job everyone. . .”
I was panting soon after I finished it.
And now the wall practice.
Natsumi’s amazing power was obvious.
And her serve form was amazing.
The ball flew with a buzzing noise.
“Well, Yukiya-chan try too.”
“O-Okay.”
I am not new to this. I’ve been in a tennis club.
The ball hit the racket and flew away.
*Giggle*
“Yeah, that’s pretty good. You have a nice posture, but there is room for improvement with your momentum. You shouldn’t be afraid of putting more force.”
“T-Thank you.”
This went on for about two hours.
I think that is enough, and a lot shared that thought, after giving our goodbyes it’s finally finished.
Well after we clean up.
The balls are packed away properly, and the rackets put away.
“I’m exhausted.”
“Ahaha, You don’t need to overdo it.”
I was really tired.
And all it was, was returning serves with a wall.
The women’s tennis club was way more difficult then I imagined.
“Hey, Yukiya-chan, after this. . .do you want to visit?”
While changing into my uniform, I was suggested to take a detour.
“Aah, Yeah. Of course.”
Despite the various trials from the morning on, the climax has passed.
The long day is over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the longest time, the author never said what hiragana is used in 凍子 aka Kouko. Or I thought it was Kouko. So the author finally said which hiranga is used which is あいつ or Aitsu. Which you know. Sounds like Ice. Which makes more sense.
EDIT: I may have messed up. Aitsu was written in Furigana, or the small hiragana on top of the name/word, this is usually there to show pronunciation. HOWEVER, it could be used in writing in reference to something. And Aitsu(あいつ) or (that guy, in contempt nuance) as a joke/disdain to Kouko. So it’s referring to Kouko, but add the nuance of disdain. So I may have messed up. I’ve never seen this before in any writing. Whoops sorry for false alarm.
Or I could be wrong. I am still fairly new to Japanese. So if anybody has any input, I’d greatly appreciate it.
