Onee-chan, Ojou-chan, so many other nicknames for me. And I’m sad to say that I’ve gotten used to it. . .
Recently I’ve been basically busy all weekend, so I can’t devote any of my time to myself.
I miss those days when the birds sang, and I had time to do other things, thanks to the calmer atmosphere.
Because of that, Natsumi-chan recommended that I join a school club, but I have no time for that.
So another year of nothing.
She didn’t force me, because she knew my situation.
I took a breather after lowering tableware into the kitchen sink.
Drinking much needed water when I heard a voice coming from the back door.
“Good afternoon, Yamamoto liquor store.”
It was somebody other than a customer.
A man was outside the back kitchen door, which connects directly to the outside.
I went to answer them, as my father was busy.
“I’ll carry it in, so please step back.”
“I’m sorry for the sudden orders. And thank you.”
Even in winter, a tanned old muscular man comes back and forth between the shops outside.
Yamamoto-san, the man whose liquor store makes delivery to us.
Because of the sudden increase of customers, our stock isn’t able to keep up.
Despite the fact that our last delivery wasn’t long ago.
“So are you Yukiya-chan? I heard about you from Syuuji-san.”
“Eh? Ah, yes. That’s right.”
After he finished quickly delivering the supply, he started a conversation.
Now that I think about it, this is our first time interacting with each other. I was used to dealing with him, so I didn’t even think about it.
“Okay, here is your receipt.”
I took the receipt from Yamamoto. It also has the address and phone number on it.
“Thank you. Ah, I also have some juice bottles over there, and if you’d like you can also wash up over there.”
“How considerate. My daughters would just leave me cold, and sweaty. . .”
“I think it’s proof that you are working hard.”
Yamamoto has two daughters, but they are older than me.
Especially the elder sister. She left home and is in university.
“I can’t cry, I wish my daughters would say that. Far from helping me, she left for college. She hasn’t contacted me, and it had an affect on my younger daughter. Saying “oh the country life is boring” and “I want to move to Tokyo”. . .It seems like the family store that has continued for generations will end with me. . .”
That was heavy. . .Much heavier than the light conversion I had imagined.
“I-I’m sure they’ll understand.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, So Yamamoto-san, keep doing your best.”
“If you say so. Thank you Yukiya-chan. I feel much better. You also give it all you got.”
“Ah, thank you very much.”
With that, he took the empty bottles and got back in his truck.
It looks like everybody is having their own problems. . .
Let me first check if everything is here. Yup. And the price was right. Yup.
Regardless of all the problems, I still can’t be sloppy.
My small break didn’t last long. Steadily new customers came.
And of course, I’m back in the motions- – –
That night. I could finally relax after closing the store.
It was then an emergency family meeting was held in the living room.
I sat my mother and father down, and prepared my show.
“What is it?”
“Yukiya, did something happen again?”
“Well. . .”
It’s finally time for the long awaited announcement. I placed my laptop in front of the table for them to see.
“Well. We finally have a Snow House Website!”
I then flipped open my laptop and showed them the screen. It was on my browser so I had to get to the website first.
“Here it is. . .”
I clicked the favorited link.
It buffered for a second.
And here it is. On the top of the page it says. “Welcome to the Snow House. Hyosei Village’s restaurant and souvenir store.”
“Amazing. Yukiya-chan.”
“Awesome. That’s my girl.”
My mother and father applauded me.
The homage is decorated with big colorful letters on a light blue background, and the picture taken from the front of our store was on display at the top.
In this day and age, even the elderly use the internet. But my parents are not familiar with technology, and especially the internet. It seems like the progress of technology is slowest with them.
Well to be fair, my dad is okay. But my mother is another story.
“How did you do this.”
“Well at night I was studying a book about using HTML and CSS that I borrowed from the library.”
“Yukiya-chan has really been working hard.”
This is actually a project I’ve been building up for a long time. However it isn’t just the homemade home page I made overnight.
“Here. . .Click here.”
I gave my father instructions to click on a hyperlink. He hesitatingly dragged the mouse over and cautiously clicked it.
My mother was watching right besides him.
“Oh, it switched.”
“Ah, that’s the shop!”
As they clicked the link, the page changed to the inside of the store.
“From here you can find our menu.”
The menu lists items from all sections, along with prices.
Ramen 500 円
Curry rice 550 円.
Tonkatsu meal set 850 円.
By the way. The famous Zensai is only 350 円.
I am also making a page with a list of the souvenirs.
Although it’s fairly simple, I have the mindset to use this for advertising purposes from now on.
There will also be a blog section that I want to add to.
“Oh, it’s amazing. I think our store has finally been modernized.”
“Pc? Internet? Yukiya is amazing for knowing all of this.”
“Fufu, Now customers can check prices and items on their PCs or Smart Phones.”
After awhile, my mother sat in front of the computer and curiously clicked the mouse while listening to instructions from my father.
My mother is ignorant to a lot of new things. But she is a quick learner.
“What a mysterious device, I thought a TV was amazing, but this is incredible- – -.”
We taught my mother how to use google.
“Um. . .S. n . o w, um. .H o u. . s. E”
She slowly typed in the name of the store. Looking down at the keyboard the whole time.
“Oh, there it is!”

My father then peeked in.
“Oh it even shows up on the nearby food section!?”
I also looked in.
“Eh? Really? Where, where!?”
There it is. A picture of the store from the street view was right there. Moreover it already has reviews.
(“The souvenir shop selection was mediocre, and the menu was bland. It’s usually empty so it’s convenient when you don’t have any other options. Oh, and the waitress girl is cute.”)
☆☆.
“What the. . .”
Silence covered the room.
“Grr. . .”
My father opened his mouth, but didn’t speak. He was suppressing the urge to hit the screen.
“W-Well no matter what anybody says. This is the best store in the world.”
“Hey, you.”
“Yes, that’s right. This store is irreplaceable.”
Then their mutual lovey dovey stuff began.
And stomped away impatiently to the bed room.
And that is how the Snow House night ended.
They have an abundant amount of options, and are all delicious.
The price is good, and the customer service is very polite.
I recommend it when you go snowboarding.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well that was a cute little chapter. Not much plot, but simple slice of life. It’s a nice change of pace. I think Yukiya crewed herself though. If it was already busy, this will make things even worse.
Anyways, chapter in 2-3 days.
