Chapter 1Protection
 
“Oh, it’s unusual to see a person from another world.”
Mr. Gordon – the doctor of the village and the one who picked me up — said frankly.
He said it so openly. No, no I have to be cautious of this man. No matter how you look at it, he’s suspicious.
As I was thinking about this situation I was in, he casually dropped a bomb while asking if I like to have tea.
 
“It’s just so rare to see people coming to this world, though there have been some who came
to this village a long time ago.”
What! There were other people too!
“Legend said that in the forest, a traveler will appear whose appearance and clothes are different than ours. They are the ‘Travelers- in-between’ and will bring this world much knowledge.”
“‘Traveler- in-between?’”
“They come from another universe away from this world, but they only leave behind achievements here. Since then, ‘journey to the new world’ is a belief that came from that story.”
 
Ah, I see.
There are barely any details to go on. Wistfully, I thought that I wanted to return back
back home safely, but with the lack of information to go on, it’s highly unlikely I’ll be able to go back.
To live here until my death, what the heck.
While I was thinking of such things, the doctor, opening tons of books, continued to explain.
“It’s also said that they have the aptitude for magic

“There’s magic here?”
“Of course there is, you do have magic, right?”

I tilted my head to the side in confusion, but the doctor remained relaxed upon seeing my expression. Magic, as in that kind of magic?
