“Then what do they care about?”
“The love square of course. Payne likes you, you like Blood Owl, Blood Owl likes Maupay, Maupay likes Payne. All the connections are messed up and unclear.”
“Then wouldn’t it be a dog blood plot like《Thunderstorm》? Are they still interested in such masochistic stuff?”

After Payne dealt with the funeral, the first person he summoned was Prime Minister Lu.

Prime Minister Lu was a bit confused, “What else is there?”
Payne gently smiled, saying, “For raising your son well.”
Prime Minister Lu humbly said, “It is his honour to be recognized by his Majesty.”
“I don’t just recognize him.” Payne sipped from his teacup, then said, “I also like him very much.”
Prime Minister Lu was stunned. Seeing his surprised expression, Payne started chuckling, “You didn’t hear wrong, it is the kind of like you’re thinking of. The like between an Alpha and an Omega.”
Large beads of sweat rolled down Prime Minister Lu’s forehead, his hands shaking, causing the teacup to fall to the ground with a clear sound.
Prime Minister Lu stood up, as if waking from a stupor, “Your Majesty! I didn’t hide it on purpose . . .”
“Don’t worry, although the empire has laws forbidding Omegas from participating in politics, I won’t hold it against you.” Payne motioned for Prime Minister Lu to sit back down. “When I was in danger, Major Lu sacrificed himself for my freedom. I promised him that if I ascend the throne, I would make him the second most powerful person in the Empire.”
Prime Minister Lu turned pale from fright, becoming unable to speak properly, “H-ch-his request is too bold!”
Payne smiled and said, “Don’t worry, you shouldn’t blame him. I promised him happily. And I will do anything to rescue him and fulfill my promise.”
Prime Minister Lu was very nervous, “Your Majesty means?”
“To be under one and above everyone else. The most powerful person, other than me, would be you.”
Prime Minister Lu swallowed hard, “This subject’s power was bestowed by your Majesty!”
“Actually, it would be a nice story for a son to succeed his father, but if Major Lu does become Prime Minister, his young age may cause the other ministers to be dissatisfied.”
“Your majesty speaks facts.”
“But since I’ve already made the promise, I must follow through.” Payne slowly said, “I still have a position next to me that’s empty, and I think Major Lu would suit it very well. I’m just not sure about Prime Minister Lu’s opinions?”
“What position?”
“Empress of the Empire.” Payne smiled at Prime Minister Lu, “You might not know, but Major Lu is already pregnant with my child, so he must be my Empress.”
Hearing that his son was pregnant, Prime Minister Lu’s jaw dropped.
Payne still remembered that Lu Shijin often said he didn’t like him when they were trapped inside Scarlet Rose’s base.
Payne didn’t care if Lu Shijin meant what he said or was simply doing so to reduce his guilt. He only wanted to rescue and be with Lu Shijin forever.
So Payne told Lu Shijin’s father about the matter to put pressure on the Lu family.
That way, even if Lu Shijin refused to be his Empress, his father would definitely force him to agree.
Payne looked thoughtfully out the window, his blue eyes showing a mixture of happiness and anger.
