In the world of *Sword Maiden OL*, the sword with the most sword maidens is the artificially forged sword, which is also one of the three initial sword maidens in the game. Whether in reality or in the game, 90% of sword wielders start their lives as sword wielders with the company of these three sword maidens.
Now, Guhan needs to choose one of the three swords displayed in the cabinet: the Qingfeng Sword, the Baite Sword, and the Bailian Sword, to become his initial sword maiden.
For the entire initial dungeon, choosing the initial sword maiden is the most critical and important moment. Once a choice is made, the sword maiden will accompany the player for a considerable period until the player finds an ancient sword-level sword maiden to replace her.
Guhan scanned the three swords, and as his gaze shifted, the detailed attribute pages of the three swords appeared in his line of sight.

Previously mentioned, sword essence value is the most important attribute for every sword wielder. This attribute not only determines whether a sword wielder can resonate with a sword maiden but is also the fundamental factor in determining a sword wielder's strength.
First, the three basic ratios of a sword maiden's abilities are the damage ratio, protection ratio, and agility ratio. At first glance, it might not be clear what these mean, but they are quite simple: they determine the conversion effect of sword essence value.
For example, with Guhan and the Qingfeng Sword:
Assume Guhan has 100 points of sword essence value, and the Qingfeng Sword's damage ratio in Sword Maiden form is 0.012. This means that when the sword maiden Qingfeng fights in Sword Maiden form, each strike deals 100 x 0.012 = 1.2 points of damage. Each hit on an enemy will reduce the enemy's health by 1.2 points.
The protection ratio determines the strength of the shield on the sword wielder and the sword maiden. After synchronization, a mutual shield will automatically cover both the sword wielder and the sword maiden to protect against enemy attacks. The Qingfeng Sword's protection ratio is 0.15, so the shield's strength is 100 x 0.15 = 15 points.
This means the shield can withstand 15 points of damage from enemies. Once the shield's strength is depleted, it disappears, and the enemy's attacks will directly reduce the sword maiden's durability. If the enemy attacks the sword wielder, it will directly attack the human body, making the sword wielder no different from an ordinary human. Once hit, the sword wielder will likely die. In reality, most sword wielders die because their shields are broken and they are directly attacked.
The agility ratio is a relatively broad data point, determining movement speed, attack speed, and evasion and blocking abilities. It provides different levels of enhancement for both the sword maiden and the sword wielder.
For the sword maiden, movement speed = 100 x 0.109 = 10.9 meters/second, attack speed = 10 x 0.109 = 1.09 strikes/second, and blocking chance = 1 x 0.109 = 10.9% blocking chance.
For the sword wielder, movement speed = base speed x 10 x 0.109, attack speed = base attack speed x 10 x 0.109, and blocking chance = base blocking ability x 10 x 0.109. In simple terms, these attributes are still based on the sword wielder's own abilities, and the agility ratio only provides a 109% enhancement.
In addition to the three basic ratios, sword essence value also determines another crucial attribute β€” sword qi. The conversion of sword qi is straightforward: one point of sword essence value equals 100 points of sword qi.
Sword qi functions similarly to mana, and many of the sword maiden's skills require sword qi to use. However, sword qi cannot be restored during battle; it only gradually recovers after the battle ends, taking about a day to fully restore. Eating can effectively speed up the recovery of sword qi.

Understanding the three basic ratios and the setting of sword qi, one can basically understand the attributes of these three treasure swords.
These three treasure swords have similar basic attributes and belong to the same tier, but each has different focuses, representing the three most mainstream sword paths among sword maidens.
The Qingfeng Sword is a martial treasure sword, with a balanced and comprehensive set of attributes. The damage ratio, protection ratio, and agility ratio are all very close, providing decent damage, strong protection, and agile movement. The Qingfeng Sword's martial characteristics and skills are also comprehensive, including damage skills, defensive skills, and recovery skills. It is an all-rounder sword path, and among the three mainstream sword paths, the most sword wielders follow the martial path.
The Baite Sword is a scholarly treasure sword, with a high protection ratio, moderate damage ratio, and the lowest agility ratio. The skills of the scholarly sword are geared towards team enhancement, area debuffs, and ability recovery. The low agility means that the scholarly sword is slightly weaker in close combat, but it excels in survival and can provide significant support to the team. Among the three mainstream sword paths, the second most sword wielders follow the scholarly path.
The Bailian Sword is a killing treasure sword, sacrificing almost all protection for extremely high damage and agility. Stealth is their core skill, and explosive single-target damage is their raison d'Γͺtre. The unscientific one-hit kill can turn the tide in extremely disadvantageous situations. The sword wielders of the killing path, as their name suggests, are focused on killing. They often hide in the darkness and deliver the most fatal blows to the enemy at the most critical moments of battle.
However, this powerful damage comes at the cost of their own protection. One strike, and it's either you or me. The sword wielders of the killing path are the least among the three mainstream sword paths because they have the highest death rate.

Before Guhan, every new player, regardless of talent, background, or origin, had to choose one of these three swords to become their initial sword maiden.
However, Guhan did not choose. He only glanced at the Qingfeng Sword, the Baite Sword, and the Bailian Sword once and then paid no more attention to them. He did not need any of these three treasure swords.
Because Guhan had a better choice, a choice he had planned for twelve years.
