Ch70 - Who's the scum?

A 70k plus diamond ring. There’s no way that Xie Zhuxing bought it for himself.

Judging by the date on the receipt – who else could he have purchased it for besides his girlfriend at the time?

More than 70k RMB. Xie Zhuxing was piss poor then – this may have been his entire savings. And he spent it all on a damn ring. He’s quite generous, huh?

Wang Chao was a bit peeved.

But he didn’t actually want to raise an issue about it. They broke up a while ago and didn’t stay in contact. There’s no point in bringing this up.

The sting more or less remained. What other purpose does a ring serve? Marriage, that’s about it.

With a sullen face, he stuffed the receipt back into the backpack. Just then, a short-haired girl turned around and said, “Leo, help me pick up the lipstick. It rolled underneath your chair.”

He bent down to pick it up for her. While getting up, he spotted a tattoo on the girl’s ankle. The pants hid it, so he couldn’t get a complete view, but the shape of it was unique.

The girl took the lipstick from him and thanked him.

Wang Chao casually replied, “No problem. The tattoo around your ankle is quite unique.”

The girl has quite a boyish personality and immediately wanted to show it off. She tilted to one side and raised her leg, resting it on the back of the chair for Wang Chao to take a look. The tattoo around the ankle was a very designer-y star.

Wang Chao liked it. “Where did you get this? It’s exquisite.”

The girl replied, “Right here in Beijing. The tattoo artist has amazing techniques and a great sense of taste. Also, super attractive! I’ve gotten tattooed there several times. If you want one, I can introduce you.”

Wang Chao has wanted a tattoo for a long time, but he’s afraid of his mom lecturing him about it. Even when he had a temporary tattoo he had to wash it off before his mom noticed it. He hesitated and said, “Nevermind.”

The girl thought it was his agency that restricted him. “You can tattoo it somewhere others can’t see. As long as you don’t go for the sexy route and don’t show skin that often, it won’t be a big deal!” She said.

She ran from the front to the back of the classroom and sat down beside Wang Chao. “Here, let me show you my favorite tattoo,” she whispered mysteriously.

She lifted her sweatshirt up a little. There was a tattoo on her belly, a tiny UFO, very unique.

After talking to the instructor for a bit, Xie Zhuxing immediately ran back to the classroom to retrieve his stuff, afraid to make Wang Chao wait for so long.

Most of his classmates have left. As soon as he entered, he noticed Wang Chao sitting in his usual seat next to a girl. They were almost face-to-face with each other. And the girl even lifted her clothes.

Xie Zhuxing frowned.

He’s been in class with this girl for a week and has always thought she’s a lesbian. Is she not?

Wang Chao also saw Xie Zhuxing return to the classroom. This is the perfect opportunity to make him jealous and usually, he wouldn’t let go of it. He’d definitely pretend that he was flirting with the girl until the other man beat him for it.

But he couldn’t get himself to act that shameless today. So he straightened up without another word.

Once Xie Zhuxing came over, the girl returned to her seat, took her stuff, and left.

Wang Chao said, “I helped you organize your stuff.”

Seeing that he didn’t leave anything behind, Xie Zhuxing said with a stern face, “Then let’s go.”

They stayed silent the entire walk downstairs, into the parking lot, and getting into the car.

Only then did Xie Zhuxing ask, “What did you talk about with that girl just now?”

Wang Chao said, “I was checking out her tattoos.”

Xie Zhuxing continued to ask, “Do they look good?”

Wang Chao said, “Yeah, they do. I’m going to get one someday too.”

Xie Zhuxing was obviously unhappy, but he stopped talking. He lowered his head and plugged the key into the lock.

Wang Chao glanced at him and suddenly asked, “Do you think I lied?”

Xie Zhuxing, “…No.”

Wang Chao couldn’t contain his anger, “Stop with that bullshit, you think that whenever there’s a pretty girl, I’d flirt with her, right?”

Xie Zhuxing didn’t know where his anger came from. Bewildered, he said, “Did I say anything bad about you?”

It’s the not saying anything part that’s irritating! Wang Chao raised his voice, “Then why are you pulling such a long face at me? Isn’t it just because you don’t trust me?”

Xie Zhuxing felt his anger rising too, “Then why don’t you do something that would make me trust you? I attend the same class with that girl everyday, why doesn’t she lift up her clothes to show off her tattoo? And you still insist that you didn’t flirt with her?”

Wang Chao insisted, “I didn’t!”

Xie Zhuxing didn’t want to argue, “Alright, alright. So you didn’t. Just stop arguing then.”

Wang Chao yelled, “What do you mean, stop arguing? I said I didn’t, so I didn’t!”

Xie Zhuxing, “…What do you want to eat for dinner?”

Wang Chao said, “Nothing!”

Xie Zhuxing, “…” He really thinks he’s right, huh?!

He unbuckled his seatbelt.

Wang Chao widened his eyes, “What are you doing?”

Xie Zhuxing didn’t respond and left the car by himself.

Wang Chao was fuming. He was definitely not like this when he was with his girlfriend. He probably pleads or begs whenever she’s angry!

He hopped off the car too and shouted, “If you dare to leave, then don’t come home!”

Xie Zhuxing continued to walk away. He didn’t even turn around to look.

Wang Chao, “…I’m going to count down from three! Get back here! Three!”

Xie Zhuxing walked even faster.

Wang Chao didn’t even count “two.” What kind of asshole is this Xie bastard! He’s so mad!

He then yelled, “I will give you one last chance! If you don’t come back, I will…break up with you!”

Xie Zhuxing paused.

Wang Chao could feel cold sweat break out on his back. Fortunately, the other man stopped. Or else what would he even do?

Xie Zhuxing turned around. He looked at him and said, “Then let’s break up.”

Wang Chao, “…”

Xie Zhuxing turned back again, about to leave the parking lot.

Wang Chao was so mad he couldn’t even focus. Isn’t this just a competition of who could be crueler? Isn’t he just taking advantage of the fact that he has a softer heart and wouldn’t even imagine leaving him?

He ran and caught up with the other man. Swiftly, he hopped, trying to embrace Xie Zhuxing from behind. But he estimated the distance wrong and the embrace turned into intimate contact with the concrete ground. The pain didn’t even bother him; hurriedly, he latched onto Xie Zhuxing’s leg and yelled, “Break what up? How could you be so scummy? You told me just last night that you’d love me forever!”

Xie Zhuxing stood there and didn’t move. “Who’s the scum? Do you have any sense of integrity?”

Wang Chao hugged his leg and sat on the ground. “Ever since we got together, I’ve never fooled around outside. Even my alcohol tolerance has dropped.”

Xie Zhuxing was at a loss for words. “Did I forbid you from drinking?”

Wang Chao said, “I’m afraid I can’t control myself if I drink too much!”

Xie Zhuxing, “…”

Wang Chao scolded, “You asshole have no heart! I may joke around with you, but do you actually not trust me? Before we got together, you knew that I’ve slept with countless girls in Chaoyang. Ever since I was borne, I haven’t really got any hobbies; whenever I was bored, I’d sleep with someone and gift her a handbag. Since we got together, all I’ve done was being fucked by you!”

The more he yelled the angrier he came, “You’ve even bought a 70k plus diamond ring for your girlfriend. What have you ever gifted to me? Only a stupid phone!”
