T/N: Wah it’s a side story again~~ I was planning on finishing it yesterday but, I got caught up in reading other WN myself ahh, sorry bout that (つ﹏<。)

Side Story 11:  The Wife’s Composure 1

「Dear, How about calming down a little?」

I called out to my husband that is walking around in circles in front of me.

「But Lidi！！」

「Lidi is with His Highness’ side isn’t she? Weren’t you the one that spoke about it?」

「Well, that is true, however！！」

My husband leaked out a sigh as he scratched his head.

Today is my daughter’s ‘Engagement Day’. The other party is this kingdom’s Crown Prince.

‘He could only be the one suitable for our daughter!’ is what my husband has been proclaiming for a long time, and finally, it was realized.

My daughter defeated the hundred rivals vying for the position beside His Highness, and splendidly acquired the title of being his ‘fiancée’.

Even though I know that my husband is a capable person, I would have never thought that he would actually make it possible.

Although I am glad that my daughter was able to find herself a splendid partner, it is also true that my astonishment* for my husband that made it happen was mixed within my feelings. (T/N: meant in a negative way)

It seems my daughter is not interested and wasn’t planning to hide her displeasure from the start (to end). Even then, I prayed for both of hers and my husband’s good fortune while wondering what would happen. In the end, my daughter’s betrothal to the Crown Prince was decided.

I remembered His Highness’ state during his visit to our estate. The heated gaze he sent towards my daughter did not escape my sight, and there I thought that everything will be alright and was then relieved.

A lot has happened since then and when it was confirmed that my daughter was given the “The King’s Flower”, she finally strengthened her resolve.

She’s my good willed and honest daughter; therefore, she would surely never back down now at this point. My husband seemed to be relieved at seeing this as well and worked hard to quickly finish the engagement process for her sake.

And thus, after hastening the preparations, today is the “Engagement Ceremony”.

Soon afterwards, the day turned into evening and my husband returned home, all by himself.

When I inquiringly asked where our daughter was, I was informed that she was taken by His Highness. While looking at his troubled face, it would seem that he saw how our daughter was taken. It was already night, thereupon, if she have not already arrived, my daughter would probably not be returning anytime soon.

This fact should have been obvious to anyone, yet my husband seemed to not understand.

Too late’ ‘Too late’ he muttered since a while ago.

「Dear, I do not believe she would come home tonight. I know you’re worried; however, she is with her official fiancé, His Highness. Above all, were you not in agreeance to it as well?」

「……uuhh」

That’s right, when I heard their discussion; my daughter seemed to seek for his help before she was taken by His Highness.

My husband treated it as if he did not see anything. Due to that, he has no right to ask what His Highness would do since then.

「Dear, you must not ask for His Highness’ presence nor complain about it, okay? You have no right for it after all, you understand?」

「……I know. I am in his gratitude. I was not planning on doing that.」

For the time being, it would seem that he knows his own self-disadvantage.

And of course, the thought of His Highness being together with our daughter until now is every parent’s worry.

Naturally, as a mother, I am the same. However.

「Carla is there so it should be fine.」

「……What?」

I shook my head to my husband that did not seem to hear what I said.

No matter how much time passes, these two people in bad terms never talk to each other.

「It was nothing. Should we eat dinner?」

That girl, is she going to return tomorrow, I wonder? I thought idly as I went to the dining room.

It was quite short lol the author placed it after side story 9, sooo I did as well~ I mean, it did fit though I just wonder about the numbering ahaha.
