The vampireâs class was likely that of a High Lord.
Its movements were much faster than a Vampire Lord.
In a flash, he was in front of me, his arms swinging. I stepped back and dodged the attack.
While he hadnât even scratched me, part of my clothes was torn.
The High Lord did not have a weapon. It was his hands that had done it.
He seemed a lot stronger than the last High Lord. Perhaps he was special.
That being said, I didnât have that much experience fighting against them.
Perhaps it was just because this one was larger than usual.
âWell, Iâll find out once youâre dead and I have seen your stone.â
âStrong words. But you are rather fast for a humanâŠâ
The High Lord smiled with confidence. It would be bad if he suddenly decided to target Shia and the others instead.
I would have to provoke him.
âAnd youâre pretty fast for a lesser vampire.â
âBastard! How dare you suggest that I am a lesser!â
As always, calling a high-ranking vampire a âlesserâ was very effective.
Still, I felt that it would not be long before they realized it was a tactic I used a little too often. That would be annoying.
Of course, it meant I had to kill them all without letting them return.
âWell, maybe if you tried a little harder. I donât think itâs completely out of the realm of possibility for you to become an Arch Vampire one day?â
âYou!! I will not forgive this insult!â
The High Lordâs eyes widened as he shrieked.
At the same time, he stepped forward and swung his arms wildly.
When I dodged this attack, he followed up with a Fireball.
I jumped away instead of using a magic barrier.
I wanted to hide the fact I was a Sorcerer for as long as possible.
If he did manage to get away, it would make a big difference if he recognized me as a Warrior instead of a Sorcerer.
âStillâŠâ
The timing for throwing the Fireball had been perfect.
While most A-Rank Adventurers would have been able to dodge his claws, the Fireball would have been very difficult.
âWhat? I was just trying to pay you a compliment.â
I said with a look of disappointment. But he wasnât listening anymore.
âWho are you, you bastard?â
He must have been confident that his Fireball would hit. He looked confused.
But I didnât want his confusion to override his anger. And so it would be better to avoid giving him the opportunity.
I swung the Devil King Sword.
âOh, just your average F-Rank Warrior.â
âYou mock me!â
The High Lord stopped the blade by grabbing it.
Yes, he was strong. This was getting interesting. Of course, this was no time to enjoy the battle.
Shia and the others were fighting too.
I wouldnât be able to help them if they needed it if I was distracted by this guy.
I had to kill him as quickly as possible and then go and support them.
âYou stopped the blade of an F-Ranker like me! How impressive!â
âYou will regret this insolence! I wonât let you die easily!â
âI donât intend on dying easily.â
I forcefully wrenched sword out of his grip.
The High Lord quickly jumped back and then countered with a swing of his right arm.
At the same time, his left arm unleashed another Fireball. It was quite impressive.
But I rushed forward as if barely taking notice of either attack.
The Fireball went straight into my left palmâŠand then vanished. Drain Touch.
If you matched the wavelengths of magic perfectly, you could absorb it.
It was very difficult to do, but I had seen Fireballs from High Lords enough times to be able to do it.
His eyes widened. He was at the peak of confusion now.
However, his arms continued to swing at me.
It was a perfect attack. Most people would not survive if they were hit by such an attack.
And I was hit by it. For a split second, the High Lord smiled.
He had believed that he had won.
However, the moment that his sharp nails made contact, there was a loud cracking sound.
Previously, when I had fought a Vampire High Lord alongside Shia, I had learned a skilled called âReactive Barrier.â
Of course, my version of it was much stronger than anything a High Lord could use.
And so the High Lordâs right arm exploded. Blood, flesh, and bones sprayed in the air like dust.
âWhaâŠtâŠâ
His mouth was still curled up, as if he had been frozen.
However, his eyes were wide with horror. These mismatched features were a bit comical.
I didnât waste a second in cutting off his head with the Demon King Sword.
His expression remained as the head rolled on the ground.
Still, I could not relax until his entire body turned into ash. He was a Vampire High Lord, after all.
You couldnât let a single drop of blood or piece of meat escape.
And so I activated Magic Detection while I cut the body to pieces with the Devil King Sword.
