Lao Da: “Perhaps the abnormality has somewhat of a forbidden interest. However, this can also be regarded as an opportunity to get closer to him. You can try to make it work, but if it’s impossible, I still hope that you’ll give up on this task.”
If Lao Da didn’t have any expectations weighing down on him, and was simply the scum system of a newborn soul, then perhaps Bu Bai could have given up without feeling any burden. He wasn’t however, and so Bu Bai kept wanting to persist — again and again.
“I like you the most, Bai Bai.” Bu Bai spoke with his voice carrying the slight tone of a spoilt child.
“Call me Lao Da.” The fur ball spoke with a harsh tone — even as he had to cover his abruptly burning cheeks, and as his old heart started to wiggle.
Bu Bai sat on the bed with his head hanging down. His ink-coloured hair fell disorderly in front of his eyes, causing anyone to be unable to see within.
Gradually, he got out of the bed, the slight chill of the ground causing him to somewhat shiver. Not paying it any mind, he moved towards Qi Mo Ran, who was laying on the ground, and bent down to support said person up by his arm. Every single detail of his action revealed the greatest care.
Qi Mo Ran wasn’t injured in any place. That insignificant strength was unlikely to impact him in any way. He simply liked to depend on the sensation of this person’s body. That meticulous care would cause him to vaguely feel as if he was being cherished.
Not much time was required to support someone up, before laying them back down. Very quickly, Bu Bai placed Qi Mo Ran down properly and sat by his side, not moving for a long time. Qi Mo Ran noticed Bu Bai’s expression stiffen for an instance, before said person did something he had never expected.
Bu Bai originally didn’t have much clothing on his body. That was why after his action of pulling and flinging, a large expanse of snow-white skin was immediately revealed. Throwing his clothes onto the bare floor, he was revealed before Qi Mo Ran’s eyes. However, this fine view made said person to be at a loss.
“Put it back on.” He rasped out.
“Why? Isn’t this what I’m supposed to do?” Bu Bai was anxious to the extent that his tears quickly began to gush out.
“But not right now.” What I want is for you to be willing. Qi Mo Ran would never say this sentence out loud. He had always been proud and confident. At the very least, ever since he was born, there had never been anything that he wasn’t able to obtain. He believed that it would be the same this time as well.
The hands that had grown accustomed to killing was also extremely skilled in an insignificant matter such as wearing clothes. In the span of a few breaths, Bu Bai’s clothes was placed neatly back onto his body. Furthere, Qi Mo Ran even helped him to pull up his hair, tying it into a simple hairstyle.
During the entire time, Bu Bai had been stupefied. It was only until that person had pressed his lips against his own in a somewhat mischevious manner, did he awaken from his daze. With complicated feelings, he scrutinized this amiable man.
“Come with me.” Qi Mo Ran pulled him out, standing naturally in front of all his subordinates. This was also this first time Bu Bai had went out after his arrival to this place.
With green mountains as the background, and white clouds as the decoration, their surroundings was filled with exotic flowers along with rare herbs. A heavenly smell, that was emitted by the plants, along with the mist filled the entire building. From the surface, it looked just like a celestial building, not even the tiniest bit of demonic energy could be seen.
“This is your residence?” Bu Bai looked uncertainly at the scene that was inconsistent with the rumours.
“This was also not my desire. However, when the building was being constructed, I thought that the appearance ought to be this way. It was as if there was a oath carved into my soul, and I didn’t dare go against it.” When Qi Mo Ran said these words, his icy exterior seemed to crack open, a gentle and soft feeling coming out in torrents instead.
“Do you like it?” Turning around suddenly, he asked Bu Bai this sentence.
“I like it.” Evolving from the fondness in his heart, Bu Bai blurted it out without thinking.
“I knew you would.” The words were as soft as a passing breeze. In an instant, they vanished between his lips and teeth.
“Did you say something just now?” Bu Bai fufilled his duty as a male consort by paying attention to his master’s every word.
“No.” After he turned around, the omipotent demonic energy that normally surrounded Qi Mo Ran reappeared. Even if the distance between the two of them was less than a metre, the misunderstandings between them were as deep as a thousand metres.
Not even a few days had passed before everyone in the Demon Palace knew that their Demon Lord had recently got an extremely beautiful male consort. Those demons didn’t bother about trifles. Being attracted to males really wasn’t anything important in their eyes. Instead, what they took notice about was his identity. In the Cultivation World, Bu Bai’s family had a status that wasn’t low. If it was, then he wouldn’t he able to enter into a specific relationship with the male lead — whose family background was equally as complicated — to get married. This matter had caused a stir in the Cultivation World, however no one was brave enough to comment on it. At the moment, even if there were rumours about Bu Bai’s body being reared by the demons, it didn’t affect his family even by the slightest bit. They merely had to say a sentence about breaking off their connections with him, before the storm would completely settle down.
However, there were still some in the Demon Palace who weren’t able to dispel their doubts, and suspected Bu Bai. He isn’t one of us. His intention must be different. Every day, a number of them would secretly monitor Bu Bai, waiting for him to slip up and give them a reason to assassinate him on the spot. This also caused much inconvenience for Bu Bai in completing his task.
Bu Bai could be considered competent at being a male consort. No matter if it was kissing or sleeping together, he never refused. Furthermore, when he was generally provoked time after time again, he always wore a smile on his face as he dealt with it. However, Qi Mo Ran wasn’t satisfied. Bu Bai didn’t love him, to the extent that he paid no attention to him. This matter made him incomparably frustrated.
“Demon Lord, Wu Xian has come to visit.” A low-grade demon stepped forward and reported.
Qi Mo Ran’s brows became taut. Although this person, Wu Xian, was almost as strong as him, they didn’t get along. It wasn’t due to any grudge between them. He simply didn’t find the other pleasing to his eyes, and vice versa.
Wu Xian was fond of beautiful women, and only liked young ladies. Every night in his palace, the sounds of singing and music never stopped. Amongst the demons, this fact was considerately well-known.
Furthermore, his and Qi Mo Ran’s position was of an extremely similar height and weight. From start to end, he never had a woman by his side, and although he did appoint some women as his right-hands, said women couldn’t be related to being gentle and soft at all. These group of women were valiant soilders that would charge into the battlefield whilst only possessing a mere sword. This fact made others be unable to fantasize about any romantic matters regarding them.
The moment the two of them sees each other, lightning would streak across the sky, and flames would adorn the land. Whilst Wu Xian hated Qi Mo Ran’s fake appearance of being noble and virtuous, Qi Mo Ran looked down on Wu Xian’s loose and shameful conduct. Whenever they meet, blood would definitely be shed.
This time, he had come to visit in person, it definitely wasn’t going to be anything good. Qi Mo Ran looked somewhat hesitantly at Bu Bai. The longer he dwelled on it, the more he was unable to stand this person leaving his sight. However, he remembered that as long as he was present, Wu Xian would be unable to do anything.
Qi Mo Ran’s heart became firm. He immediately picked up Bu Bai, who wasn’t too far away, and placed him down onto his thigh, letting him rest his head naturally against his chest.
“Qi Mo Ran.” With a group of women clustering around him, Wu Xian gradually walked over.
“Wu Xian.”
Sparks flew in all directions.
“I heard that you took in a young Daoist seedling just recently. That’s why, I wanted to come over and take a look at what kind of beauty could move your heart.” Wu Xian lightly shook his folding fan as he spoke towards Qi Mo Ran.
“Since you’ve seen him, you can beat it now.” Qi Mo Ran’s sight remained fixedly on Wu Xian’s folding fan in fear that any of the other’s actions may harmBu Bai. His tone wasn’t extremely happy.
Wu Xian didn’t get upset and continued, “Now that I’ve seen him, he really is stunning. It’s no wonder the heart of such a person like you, was also moved. How about giving him to me? I can exchange one of mine with you.”
Bu Bai’s body shivered, unconsciously gripping Qi Mo Ran’s sleeve tightly. It was exchanged for a stroke that brought along warmth and comfort. Slightly surprised, he looked up at the man beside him, before feeling indescribably calm.
“No.” Qi Mo Ran sent an attack over. And even if it had been mostly blocked by Wu Xian’s folding fan, it had still sliced off a single strand of said person’s hair.
The fake smile on Wu Xian’s face disappeared. Instead, it was replaced with the true essense of the demon race — an energy that reeked of blood. “Then, I can only resort to snatching him away.”
The weak are the prey of the strong. That was the so-called fairness of the demons.
Qi Mo Ran left Bu Bai behind in his original spot, before going to confront Wu Xian by himself. Their movements were too swift, and at the side, Bu Bai was only able to see a simple afterimage. He also couldn’t clearly tell who was at an advantage.
“Lao Da, what’s going on in the fight?” Bu Bai could only plead for help from the system.
“It’s hard to tell, but it looks like Qi Mo Ran has the upperhand. After all, he is the ultimate BOSS character.” Lao Da answered.
“Will he win?” Bu Bai asked.
“It’s not definite. His attacks are too direct, it’s clear that he’s very confident in his strength. However, Wu Xian is different. Every single time he makes a move, it looks as if he’s using his full strength, when in fact, he is only feeling it out and searching for a suitable oppurtunity to release a poison, which he had prepared, on him.”
“Will that poison impact Qi Mo Ran strongly?”
“It won’t be too strong. It will only irritate him for a while.”
“What about me?”
Lao Da remained silent for a moment, before he spoke slowly, “Bu Bai, it’s very likely that you will die.”
“I know.”
Although Lao Da couldn’t see Bu Bai’s expression, he still knew that the other was currently smiling. He released a long sigh.
“Then, I’ll send you over.””
In the air, the battle between Wu Xian and Qi Mo Ran har already became more and more intense. After feeling him out several times, he finally found a moment where Qi Mo Ran’s guard was at its weakest with much difficulty. Seizing the chance, he released the poison that he had meticulously blended together.
With an abnormal light, along with dishing out another attack, he sent it over. However, he didn’t receive a result that was within his expectations. There had been someone who had helped Qi Mo Ran to block this attack of his.
Wi Xian only saw a snow-white figure fly over, before he recieved the heavy strike of Qi Mo Ran’s palm. The bottom of his heart churned. Naturally, he knew that he had lost the initiative. Taking advantage of Qi Mo Ran not having time to attend to his resistance, he fled hastily. In this trip, he wasn’t completely without gains, Wu Xian was pained as he thought, he seemed to have finally touched Qi Mo Ran’s bottom line.
“Bu Bai. Little Bai. Don’t sleep. Open your eyes and look at me.” Qi Mo Ran called out, his voice filled with sorrow.
From Bu Bai’s mouth, blood-coloured foam bubbled up unceasingly. Furthermore, the colour of it had changed from the blood red that it was at the beginning, into a purplish black. A single look at his appearance, and one would be able to tell that his condition wasn’t too good. His body was also quivering due to the pain, making it clear that his life had yet to be extinguished, but also that he wouldn’t be able to last for very long.
Qi Mo Ran didn’t hesitate for a moment. He scooped Bu Bai into his arms quickly, isolating himself away from all of his surbodinates, before bringing him into his secret chamber. On ordinary days, he would practice austerities in this place.
In the middle of the secret chamber, there was a stone bed. Qi Mo Ran placed the other person on top of it. At this moment, Bu Bai had already stopped spasming and his breathing had gradually become milder, however, it became even weaker as well.
“Don’t think of dying.” Saying this, Qi Mo Ran used the entirety of his strength, absorbing the poison within Bu Bai’s body, and transferring it into his own. From the start, this poison wouldn’t be able to cause much harm towards him. Moreover, absorbing the poison in such a manner would merely cause him to be weak temporarily. During this period, he would also frequently introduce his true energy into Bu Bai’s body in order to recuperate his inner body. If he did not do so, even after removing the poison, he may still not necessarily survive. This person was seriously, too excessively small and weak.
After taking care of the entire matter, Qi Mo Ran also fell into a heavy sleep due to a lack of strength. Just nice, he fell down beside Bu Bai, firmly interdependent on him.
Bu Bai woke up earlier than Qi Mo Ran had anticipated. The moment he got up, he saw the unconscious Qi Mo Ran. Naturally, he wouldn’t let this opportunity slip away. At first, the reason he had sacrificed himself to save this person, was in order to get his trust. Though, this outcome could be counted as reaching his goal by a different route.
Retrieving the dagger he carried around on himself, Bu Bai pointed the blade down towards the man beside him — pointing it directly at his chest, not leaving a bit of leeway.
