Ai closely looked through the program schedule. She found that there were a lot of dancing and singing programs. And even some of them were quite explicit. It surprised Ai that Ouyang Zhenzhen was going to perform a solo jazz dance.

She didn’t doubt that all the men would definitely be attracted by her. Ai looked at it scornfully. But at the same time, she felt her spirits stirred up because she believed that there must be someone who could appreciate their dance.

Having rehearsed with Yang day and night, AI decided to borrow costumes in the clothing store in city center. She told Lu about this. He didn’t agree at first. After all, he couldn’t help worrying about Ai every time when he thought about what had happened to Ai last time.

Ai coaxed and pestered him unceasingly. She even did coquetry. Lu finally agreed with the condition that Ai should be protected by his bodyguard all the time.

Although Ai thought it was not comfortable to go shopping with a man, she still agreed. She asked him to let Yang go with her deliberately in order to curb Lu’s suspicion.

They set off to the city center early on a sunny day and they arrived there at noon. They went to clothing market immediately.

But they asked a lot of people and unfortunately there were no stores for renting performance costumes. They had to go to the capital city. But that would take them a lot of time.

Ai and Yang started to be upset. If they couldn’t rent costumes, their performance would be much paler. They ate ice creams sitting on the kerb, disappointed.

“Changhuan. Look at that. What’s it across the street?” Yang poked Ai’s elbow to hint her.

Ai looked across the street along Yang’s sight but she only saw a curtain store. She looked at Yang confusedly, “What? You need to buy curtains?”

“No. You see. They are hanging silk and white gauze in the shop-window. We can make our own clothes if we can’t buy them.” Yang’s eye were lightened up.

“We make them ourselves? Are you kidding me?” Ai never picked up a needle in her life. Making clothes meant an impossible job for her.

“I can. Our family has a clothes store. My parents are both tailors. It is just a small thing for me to make clothes.” Yang looked ready to show her talent. Her eyes were filled with excitement.

Ai was cheered up by her passion.

“Anxin. You are so talented. You can literally do anything!”

“Nothing.” Yang’s tone grew brisk.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s go!”

They rushed into the store across the street hand by hand. After a close check, they confirmed that this kind of material could be used for their clothes. Its thickness and color were both appropriate. And the silk looked quite delicately trimmed with lace. They beamed with satisfaction and the store owner thought he made a bad deal. So his facial expression changed all the time.

They moved the material into the car. They were going to buy some ornaments. Ai had a whole set of makeup, so she didn’t need to buy. They should have gone back home with all the things they bought. But Ai was attracted by a men’s shop. She stood in front of a suit, asking Yang excitedly, “Anxin. Anxin. You see. Is the suit suitable for Lu? Does it look good?”

Hearing her question, Yang was surprised. She didn’t expect that Ai was good at coping with her husband in spite of her young age. She thought about Lu even when she was shopping. Yang smiled and said, “It looks great. You can take it.”

“OK. That sounds great.” Ai immediately called the assistant, claiming she wanted to take it. But when the assistant asked her the size, she was confused. Because she didn’t know Lu’s size.

She recalled his figure. She measured his measurements on her body, “His waist is of such height. His shoulder is of such breath. And…”

Yang looked at her jealously. What a sweet couple. One could even smell the sweetness in the air. But the relationship between her and Pei Mu had already been flat. Their life tasted like water, nothing special.

She then felt rejoiced when she thought about it. Luckily, she was invited by Ai to dance together. She had a new challenge so she could get rid of the boring life of which one could see the end.

Ai looked back while waiting for the suit being packaged and asked, “Anxin. Is there anything you want?”

Yang walked around in the store and finally selected two pajamas in a large and a small size. They were definitely for Pei Mu and Pei Xiaopang.

They bought something else but didn’t stay there long. They had dinner with Qiaosheng and then set off to the barracks. This was one of Lu’s requirements that she had to go back before midnight.

Ai looked at Qiaosheng with regret, “Sorry to keep you driving for hours.”

Qiaosheng said in a high pitch, “Nothing. The commander asked me for help because he trusts me. I am delighted to drive you back. Hold the handrail. The road is a little bit rough.”

“OK.” Ai asked about his age, where he came from, how many people in his family and why he wanted to be a soldier.

Qiaosheng said he was born in a remote countryside. He had two younger sisters and a younger brother besides his parents and grandparents. He was the eldest child in his family. He heard that he could get paid monthly if he joined the military as a student, so he came here. The elder sister was going to take the College Entrance Examination this year.

Ai thought he was a good person so she wanted to help him. “If your sister is admitted by a university in City A. You can let her contact me. I have a lot of friends there. They can help her a lot.”

“Haha. Thank you in advance.” Qiaosheng expressed his gratitude to her.

“Ah. Yes. ” Ai took out a large bag of nuts, snacks and milk sugars. “We bought some snacks. And we leave one bag for you. Take it home.”

“Ah? For me?” Although Qiaosheng served in the military for years, he still acted like a child in front of Ai. He liked eating snacks. So when he saw the large bag of snacks, he beamed with pleasure. “Thank you so much. If you want to go out next time, you can call me.”

“Haha.” Yang couldn’t help laughing.

It was already over 9PM when they arrived. It got dark quicker if one lived in the mountain area. They couldn’t see anything except for the place with street lamps.

Lu went out from the house to welcome them when he heard the sound of engine.

Yang whispered to Ai, “See. He really cares for you. He even welcomes you deliberately for coming back home. Think about Pei…”

The door to the house next to Ai’s house was opened before she finished her words. Pei Xiaopang dashed out and jumped up to Yang, “Mom. I miss you so much.”

Although he was talking to his mom, his eyes were looking at the bags in Yang’s hands.

Yang clearly knew what he was thinking about. “I think you do not miss me. You miss the snacks I bought.”

Pei Weizhi was seen through, so he immediately rubbed on Yang’s neck with his to please her.

Pei walked to them slowly at this time. He dragged Pei Weizhi down from Yang. “Your mom is carrying a bunch of bags. Don’t be naughty.”

Then he patted on his butt with a medium strength. He took the bags from Yang’s hands. “Why did you buy so many things?”

Ai smirked, “Anxin. I think he cares for you, too.”

“Stop…” Yang sighed but she got blushed. Fortunately, it was so dark that nobody could see it.

They said goodbye to each other and went home.

Ai took out all the snacks she bought and placed them on the table.

There were all fruits beside meals. She couldn’t get any snack. She couldn’t live a happy life if she couldn’t have snacks. So when she looked at those snacks, her eyes were shining like a wolf.

Lu moved the snacks with his hands. He sneered, “All junk food. It is not good for your health.”

Ai held all the snacks in her arms. She was afraid that Lu would throw them all away. “I like these snacks. Leave me alone. I warn you. Don’t touch my snacks.”

Lu narrowed his eyes, and he touched her forehead, “Can you be a little bit more mature? You want to argue with me for the little snacks?”

Ai held those snacks tighter immediately, “What do you want?”

Lu was speechless. “I want nothing but just remind you. Don’t eat too much junk food. After all, you do not own your body alone for yourself.”

“What do you mean?” Ai opened a bag of jerky secretly and put one piece in her mouth.

Lu pretended not to see. “I mean. Your are my wife. So your body is mine. You will be our children’s mother. So your body will be our children’s. And it is related to our children’s health. So I must be responsible for your health.”

“Ahem…” Hearing Lu’s shocking comment, Ai was choked by the jerky. She then started to look for water in haste. She drank three whole glasses of water to alleviate her cough. Lu said with a gloating look, “You see. I just told you there is not going to be a good result if you eat junk food.”
