Chapter 66

When I woke up, I found myself in a strange room. The lack of visibility made it so I couldn’t see anything.

I felt a throbbing pain in the back of my head where it had collided against the floor.

I think I have a bump on my head.

I tried to check it with my hand, but it seemed to be tied behind my back and I couldn’t move it.

As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I looked around the room again and saw that it was more lavishly furnished than the Count’s room.

In the center of the room, there was a bed by the wall.

There was a chest of drawers by the bedside, which reminded me of a typical room in an aristocratic house.

The bed is white with gold decorations. The bedding is decorated with lace and frills.

There was no light in the room, so I couldn’t make out the colors of the room, but the curtains looked somewhat floral in design.

The creaking pain was probably due to the fact that I was tied up and couldn’t move my body.

My legs weren’t tied up, so I got up to my knees and then stood up.

I turned my back to the door of the room and grabbed the knob with my hand and rattled it around, but it was locked, as it should be.

A thick curtain hung over the window.

I manage to use my elbow to try to get into the gap between the window and the curtains.

It’s dark outside the window, and there is no clock, so it’s hard to tell the time, but I’m sure that it’s not too late into the night.

You can see the royal castle in the distance, and because of the close proximity of this place from the royal castle. You can guess that this is the section of the town where nobles lived.

I tried to open the window, but it was impossible due to the fact that my hands are tied and the window latch is quite high.

I managed to push the chair beside me to a nearby desk using my foot to move it around, but then I suddenly hear voices from outside the room.

I hurriedly pulled down onto my flouncy skirt and sat down on the floor.

The door to my room was then opened.

“Hi, Cosette-sama. It’s been a while. How have you been?”

The lights in the room were lit and my eyes fluttered.

“Alfred-sensei…”

This country is monogamous and only the king can have a side room.

Well, now I’m going to make a brilliant escape and expose everything!

But I haven’t come up with any plans yet…

To sum up the teacher’s story, it seems that the Duke of Doranju was threatened by Alfred-sensei after he got the evidence of the prior king’s poisoning.

The military equipment that the duke had lined up was directed by the teacher to stage a coup d’état.
