Lydianne and Amalda’s friendship is famous within the Shrine.
Both of them are top-ranking saintesses, so there are a lot of things they have in common, and they probably understand each other well. Docile Amalda idolizes Lydianne’s fiery personality, while Lydianne takes good care of her.
At first, they would only meet each other on business, but soon enough, they started meeting up even when they had nothing to do — as long as they have the time, they’re inseparable, and it has become the norm to see them together.
People can always see them happily chatting over tea in the terrace of the cafeteria reserved exclusively for the top-ranking saints. If not, they’re having tea parties with each other at their deities’ mansions.
Even the deities, who are said to only mind their own saintesses, were making an exception for them.
Well, I guess it’s understandable given that Supreme Deity Granverite and God of War Adoracion, the second-ranked deity, are brothers. If it’s the saintess of his beloved brother, it’s possible to cultivate fond feelings…
Well, all of these are just stuff I heard from others.
‘I don’t know! I haven’t even met Liddy!’
Their friendship is nothing but rumors to me, since I haven’t heard anything directly from her.
The other person in question is Amalda, and I can only begrudgingly acknowledge how good she is at clinging to other people and making them treat her well, thanks to my own experience.
Those rumors are probably half-truths. I don’t think Lydianne has the patience to idly sit and chat away on the terrace, and I believe most of the stories have a lot of exaggerated stuff mixed in.
Still, that doesn’t mean everything is a lie.
‘I do see them together often. I did see them getting along well on the terrace. I’ll never forget how she ignored me back then!’
We bumped into each other at the dining hall, and we even met each other’s eyes, but Lydianne just turned away with her nose pointed to the air. Argh, my blood’s boiling just by the memory of that.
‘If she apologizes first… was what I thought, but I don’t care anymore! Go and be chummy with Amalda for all I care! It’s not like I wanted to talk to Liddy!’
Hmpf! I snorted, then I shook my head again, quite vigorously this time around.
If I force Lydianne out of my head, she’s replaced by Kami-sama.
‘No, it’s not Liddy I should be talking to in the first place; it should be the priests. But… I don’t think they’re gonna believe me…’
Who could possibly believe that my deity had transformed into a human figure when I woke up?
Besides, the deity in question was no other than ‘Incompetent God’ who is infamous within the Shrine. The divine aura should be able to verify that it’s him, obviously, but even so, that heaviness and his new appearance was enough for doubting he was somebody else.
‘Why didn’t he know the reason for transforming into a human? And it’s also possible that he will suddenly revert to his former appearance by tomorrow.’
Just as his change was so sudden, I can’t shake off the possibility that he might return just as suddenly, without any warning at all.
Because of this, I was a little hesitant to approach a priest at this moment.
Besides, that air-head — Kami-sama, I mean — must be inwardly confused too, despite his expressions.
If I suddenly took a priest with me tomorrow, he wouldn’t have the time to settle down.
‘I should consult Kami-sama first whether I should report this to the priests. I’ll talk to the priests after I get his consent.’
But in that case, I won’t have anywhere else to vent out these endless worries of mine.
‘Maybe I can talk to Mari and Sofie. I’ll meet them at the dorm, after all.’
But then, it’s those two we’re talking about. They’ll probably kick up a fuss, like “What’s the use of worrying when he turned into a handsome guy, huh!? “ or “Are you bragging now!?” — ahh, just thinking about it made me bitterly shake my head.
