Volume 4 Chapter 20 ※ Kami-sama’s POV
Why did he sense such evil from her?
It was the following morning after Eleanor took a break.
One day had passed since she visited him, but it was obvious that she was acting weird now.
“Kami-sama! I’ll go all out and do major cleaning today, so please stay in the corner!”
She gulped her breakfast in a hurry, then whipped out her arsenal of cleaning tools before shooing him away.
He escaped to the bed in a fluster, but she didn’t even spared him a glance after that.
Sweeping and cleaning the floor and the cabinet were a given, but she also cleaned the windows, walls, even going as far as scrubbing the ceiling, so even he couldn’t keep his mouth shut any longer.
“Er…Eleanor-san?”
He had escaped to the top of the bed, squeezing himself on the very edge of the bed, shivering while softly calling out to her.

“Are you alright?… Did something happen yesterday?”
“Nothing happened!”
It was obvious that something did happen from Eleanor’s tone when she answered him, without a doubt.
She whirled around, and he braced himself in surprise.
“Nothing happened yesterday! Really, nothing re~ally happened, nothing at all!”
“But, well…”
He choked up on his words because of her forceful denial.
He couldn’t believe in all honesty that she was telling the truth when she said nothing happened.
Eleanor was smiling brightly, but she was also strangely energetic that it felt stuffy, almost terrifying.
She was clenching the rag really hard, and her fist was trembling from the force she was exerting.
And above all —
‘I sense filth.’
He may not have eyes, but he ‘stared’ at her, and he even shivered slightly, as if he had been gritting his teeth.
He shuddered from the nasty feeling that he felt in his body countless of times before.
Of course, he knew Eleanor was far from a pure and innocent saintess.
She would usually harbor a little bit of filth, and she was also quick-tempered.
However, that filth normally stayed within her.
Even if she was angry, she wouldn’t direct it to anyone else.
She had always strived to solve those feelings within herself on her own.
And yet, he could clearly sense her anger; experience it, even.
The emotions she accumulated — that sticky, muddy filth started to trickle down from her bit by bit.
