Chapter 7.2 – Amazing
When he looked at the two who gave life unto him, Shen Lang’s eyes softened.
Really… can’t believe it…
They spoiled him too much.
Shen Lang hurriedly moved and went to help his father. He concentrated his spiritual abilities to his eyes and examined the effects of Shen Wan’s injuries.
He found his father had too many internal injuries. The upper lungs and lower abdomens were clotted and there were cracks found everywhere on his ribs. After three months, the fractures on his ribs grew uneven.
The Xu Family’s treatment to his family was cruel. The injuries his father received were a one too many. Fortunately, Shen Jiang borrowed five gold coins and immediately sought treatment otherwise Shen Lang would never find a chance to see his father ever again.
At least the five gold coins saved his life. This amount would be enough for a farmer to live without working for the rest of his life comfortably. But even so, Shen Wan’s injuries hadn’t healed completely. If Shen Jiang hadn’t acted immediately, the life of his father would have left long ago.
Shen Lang quickly formulated a treatment plan.
He opened a tiny hole on Shen Wan’s lungs and drained the hematoma out. Thereafter, he used an herbal anti-inflammatory and tonic medicine to restore his vitality. He’d soon recover fully given a few month’s time.
“Father…” He called out and placed his palm on Shen Wan’s forehead. “This child is not filial. I will never let you and mother worry ever again.”
The fever and inflammation on Shen Wan’s body dissipated slowly else it’d only prove fatal to his health.
Shen Wan looked at his foolish son. He tried to resist from coughing desperately but it proved difficult. Even then, Shen Lang saw his father’s eyes full of abundant love.
“Lang’er… you’ve become clever…” Suddenly discovering the change in his son, Shen Wan smiled tenderly.
Shen Lang’s loving and caring parents loved him dearly despite knowing clearly the level of his intelligence. Their son was a fool. Though unwilling to admit, deep down they knew their child would forever remain a fool.
Looking at Shen Lang’s sharp eyes, Shen Wan hadn’t expect such a drastic change, but it was more than enough. He was happy. Even if his son remained a fool all his life, it’d matter not. He’ll always love his good child. He had even hoped his foolish son would able to marry a good wife who could look past his foolish behavior. Even marrying a widow mattered not to him.
Shen Lang’s mother stepped forward. She held her son’s face for a long time. “Yes… my big boy became clever. Your eyes look so charming.”
Shen Lang was on the verge of explaining the situation but it seemed he did not need to. His parents loved him too much to care for the sudden change in his aura. Besides, seeing the positive change in him only brought them infinite joy. He’d hate to break that apart.
“Big Brother, did the Xu Family drive you out?” Shen Jian questioned.
Shen Lang nodded.
“It’s good you got out…” The mother said softly. “Mother can’t bear to see Lang’er staying inside the house of a cruel family. Although we are poor, we will always support you. You won’t ever have to suffer.”
This kindness… it was endless and he knew the words his mother meant. Shen Lang would never have to work. He only needs to eat white rice every day.
“We wanted to find you a good daughter-in-law but before we had the chance to, you went off and quickly ran to the Xu Family. That gave us a heart attack! Well, no matter, when your father and little brother recover from their injuries, we’ll work hard and make enough money so you can go and marry a good girl. I’ll finally become a grandmother!” Said the mother joyfully. “Ah… how about the widow from the other village? Though she is only three years older than you, she is truly beautiful!
It is not that his parents dare to belittle him, but rather due to his current reputation. Shen Lang built a notorious reputation throughout the village and the city. He was a mentally retarded fool. Besides being a godly beautiful white lotus, he had no other skills other than being a beautiful doll.
In his case, to marry a widow was more than enough.
Shen Lang chuckled softly at the mere thought of his mother’s plans. Then, he came over to his brother. He sat down and placed Shen Jiang’s leg on top of his thigh. Examining, he saw circles of blue and purple swelling up. The right leg bone was also broken.
“Big Brother, I’m alright.” Shen Jian said with a pained expression.
“I’ll only be lying in bed for ten days and half a month. Coughs… I’ll only be limping. It’s no big deal.
“Anyway, it’s good to have you back home.
“You don’t need to worry, Big Brother! I’ll go to Black Tortoise City and make porcelain every day to make money. Ohhh! When I see a carriage, I’ll rush under the wheels and get injured before demanding insurance!”
Shen Jiang snorted.
This was his younger brother. Though good to his big brother, Shen Jiang was an unreliable character. And as for his broken leg, if it cannot be healed, he’ll die in no time.
“When did you get hurt?” Shen Lang asked.
“The day before yesterday.” Shen Jiang replied. “Because we haven’t heard from you for nearly a month, I went to the Xu Family House to ask for information. Who knew they’d be bitter and not let me enter. When I went back home, I was ambushed. Now I look like this.”
What a scheming family.
Seems news of Shen Lang infected by the illness Xu Qianqian once had was blocked by the Xu Family. It’s only right his parents had never known of this. That aside, they worried sickly for Shen Lang’s well-being. As they haven’t heard a word from their child, their worries further escalated so they sent Shen Jiang to ask how his big brother was doing in the Xu Family House.
It was only met with failure.
Sighing dejectedly, Shen Jiang departed. Along the way to Maple Leaf Village, Shen Jiang was ambushed and had gone as far as to cripple his leg.
This must be the Xu Family’s doing.
There were evil people in the world existing who hides behind their charismatic aura.
Suddenly, Shen Lang’s eyes turned an icy frost.
Shen Lang shook his head and cleared his mind.
He turned to Shen Jiang. “I will now treat your broken leg. It will be very painful, but you must bear with it.
“Big Brother, when did you learn to cure people of their sickness?”
Shen Lang needed the help of his mother to treat Shen Jiang’s health and sickness.
Treating my broken leg, how did he learn that?
Shen Jiang asked curiously.
It must be known that Shen Lang had the experience in the modern world treating and saving the injured day in and day out. He had rich and abundant experience under his belt.
The pain his father and little brother face was nothing in his eyes. Not to mention his newly given abilities. Treating an injury such as this was an easy feat.\n
