As I walked out from the cabin doors, I saw Sakarol walking towards me with Rhine, who was wearing a complex expression that startled me, right behind her. He looked at me intently, the outline of his jaw protruding slightly from his cheeks, as if he was angered to the limit of his patience. With how things appeared to be, if Sakarol wasnât here, he would have turned into a lion and eaten me whole.Â
Though obviously they had been monitoring everything just now, I still felt inevitably embarrassed, despite psychologically preparing myself from the start. I lowered my head to avoid their intense gazes as I dug out the syringe from my pocket, and with furrowed eyebrows, I gradually handed it over to the approaching Sakarol. zIWQ1A
Her eyes swept over my face with a look that could make one feel squirmish. With a small scornful laugh, she took the syringe and inspected the mauve-coloured liquid in itâmy blood. The action made me a little nervous but I steadily kept a calm front, my expression not wavering one bit. You must know that international spies are proficient at disguise and have a skill of cracking peopleâs facade, I mustnât let them catch anything off with my expression by any means, no sweating or any other small changes.Â
So as to not reveal any flaws, I pretended to be impatient and crossed my arms, rolled my eyes and coldly spatted out, âHey, youâve already got the blood, so I should be able to meet my friends now! âAnd donât think you guys can just order me around without confirming that their lives are safe and that they wonât be starved to death!â
Sakarol frowned, ignoring me. She just took out a test tube and carefully transferred the blood from the syringe before shaking it a few times. The corner of her lips lifted only after the colour and consistency wasnât detected as abnormal, giving a glance toward Rhine and said, âOh, of course my little scholar. Rhine will bring you up there.â  Â
âYes, Colonel. I will take him there right now.â Rhineâs tight face suddenly became lax like he had barely escaped punishment before he grabbed onto my arm and tried to drag me out, but then was stopped by Sakarol, âDonât forget, get his hands cuffed up.â With that said, she took out a bright object from her pocket and tossed it to Rhine standing behind me. SKrndy
When I felt the ice-cold metal looping around my wrist, I struggled to retract my hands subconsciously, staring at Sakarolâs seemingly ultra soft neck. Â
I knew that with the hidden power inside my body, it wouldnât be a problem to break away from Rhine and use the handcuffs as a weapon to threaten Sakarol right now, however I quickly dismissed this idea the second it passed through my mind.

I dug into my palm as I allowed myself to be handcuffed, and was dragged up the flight of stairs by Rhine to the floor above. While moving, I observed the imprisoned merfolk on both sides of me, and I was amazed to find out that quite a lot of them were looking back at me. The emotion in their eyes was very different from that time back on Merfolk Island, it didnât make me feel terrified at all, instead it even made hope swell in my heart because the way they looked at me was the same as how they looked at their own kind. aE7cVs
Dare I say that I felt a sense of reverenceâthe way they hung their head with their eyebrows and eyes facing downward was just like how humans show formal courtesy.
This was undoubtedly because of Agaresâs âmarking ceremonyââthey acknowledged my status of being his spouse. Like⌠the role of a Queen?Â
Ah, to hell with it!
Jade:Â Tbh, the revelation at the end kinda shocked me. I really didnât expect it at all!Fv5Yyb\nFv5Yyb\n
