Counter Attack Chapter 42

Chi didn't say anything this time, he just stared at Wu for a whole five minutes.
Wu was lying if he said that he's not guilty of what he had done. Whoever is being stared at like this, there must be goosebumps all over his body, moreover, Chi's gaze was like a mincer, you could lose your sanity if you're not cautious enough.
After moments of silence, Chi had finally spoken.
'Why didn't you go to the court for the past few days?'
Wu acted like he was depressed. He was waiting for this line after a long time of preparing his emotions for the right time.
In fact, all those unnecessary questions that Chi had asked just now was only to foreshadow this awkward question. All he cared about is, why didn't you come to see me?
Wu answered mellowly, 'There's no particular reason, I just didn't feel like playing.'
Chi's expression changed. He put down Jealous and walked to Wu, stood there and stared at him from a height.
'Then why did you feel like playing before?'
Wu felt there was an immense pressure accumulating above him, causing him breathing difficulties.
There wasn't any answer after a long time, Chi suddenly slammed onto Wu's neck and pressed his whole body down onto the sofa. Even though his head was hard as a rock, he felt slightly uncomfortable after receiving the huge blow.
Chi was towering over Wu, his pitch heightened.
'Talk!'
Wu gritted his teeth, he didn't make a single noise, he wanted to make someone distressed.
Shuai cleared his throat, eased the tension building up in the room at the right time.
'Please don't be so close to him, he's having the flu now. He might pass on the germs to you.'
'Flu?' Chi asked.
Wu's clear eyes became muddy, tiredness raided his eyes. He kept staring at Chi, he appeared to have an undying spirit despite his lack of vitality.
'Don't listen to his bullshit, I'm fit as a fiddle!'
'I'm bullshitting?' Shuai continued to add oil to the fire, 'Always going out during rainstorms and came back with a body full of sweat, then drenched in rain. How could someone not possibly fall sick? He even fell into a huge ass drain, just to catch some fat toads, his body temperature shot up to 41 degrees...'
Wu replied with much coordination and teamwork, 'Shuai, stop with your nonsense!'
Shuai continued, 'He's crazy! He would give away gifts to others when all he wears is a vest with holes on it. He then wouldn't dare to show up after he fell sick, he was scared that he would spread germs around...' He turned towards Chi, 'Mr. Mighty, it would be a huge loss if he got frozen in the drain, what do you say?'
A scene of Wu playing basketball in the rain flashed across Chi's mind.
'Wu!'
The apprentice shouted from the entrance.
What a great timing! Wu pushed away Chi and tidied his attire, then stared at the apprentice.
'What's wrong?'
The apprentice looked worried, 'We just lost 10 snakes.'
Wu finally had some reaction, he shot up from the sofa and slipped on his shoes hurriedly, he asked the apprentice while they're walking out the clinic, 'What happened? How did they die?'
Chi followed along.
They arrived at the site, after seeing the dying snakes, Chi asked, 'You keep snakes too?'
Wu was worried to death, he didn't have the time or mood to chat.
Chi picked up a snake and looked at it briefly before throwing it back.
'Don't even bother, they're not going to survive.'
Wu acted as if he just knew about it, his eyes turned red.
'Why? When my teacher sold this bunch to me, he said they're wild snakes, he told me to give them wild feed. I've been feeding them that since then, I only fed them with man-made feed twice.'
'It's not about the food,' Chi said, 'It's the snakes themselves, you've been cheated.'
'Bullshit!' Wu said spiritedly, 'I've been learning as an apprentice there for over two months, I was close to them, how could they cheat me? They must have eaten something bad.'
He then let the apprentice dice up the toads and the rats in a bucket to feed the hatchlings.
Chi didn't bother to even talk to Wu, he grabbed the bucket and headed out. His Er Bao has been starving, he needs to eat something now.
Wu was concerned, 'What are you doing?'
Chi replied, 'Since your snakes are dying anyways, don't waste the food.'
Wu followed him to the gate.
Chi was standing beside his car, then asked callously.
'Where did you get them?'
Wu announced, 'From the Wang's! You can check them out, they are a credible company, they wouldn't dare to do something like this.'
Chi didn't say much, he just drove and left.
