Thus, my farm temporarily became an âizakaya farm.â
Not just any izakaya, but an izakaya of the gods.
Is that a good thing or not? I donât know either.
âMy Lord! Medusa at table number three wants a rolled omelet with cod roe!â
âTables two to five are requesting additional boiled daikon!â
âAdditional kamaboko!â
âHere, too!â
âWe donât have enough sake, Garra Rufa!!!â
Orders keep coming in one after the other as I swing my pan in the kitchen.
âIâm on it!!! Also, could someone go to the storehouse and check if we still have ingredients?!â
Every single resident on the farm is busy.
The mermaids, as well as the demon duo Batemy and Belena, are running around as waitresses. The monster team goes to the fields or the mountains to get more ingredients. The satyr group keeps making milk. The elves are helping me with the cooking while the earth spirits are on dishwashing duty.
Only Veil doesnât care about whatâs going on, sleeping like a log inside the house.
The gods came in like a storm devouring our farmâs reserves.
ââŠI hasât hadst mine own filleth,â says one of the gods.
Itâd kill us in ways more than one if you havenât.
If they continued their feast, our farm would really lose all of its reserves.
ââŠMy, t-thatâs a relief!â says Sensei, the one who summoned the gods.
Even The Lifeless King is helpless against the divine group as he can only stand by anxiously.
âThis is the very first timeth we hasât hath taken such a fine offering. We certes hadst our filleth.â
âI blesseth this dashimaki tamago as the food of the gods.â
âIâm blessinâ this yakitori as the food of the gods!â
âI shalt blesseth this beer as divine wineâŠâ
âUnlucky for thee, but I hasât already did bless yond,â nonchalantly says the gods one after the other.
âVery well, I believeth itâs timeth for us to departâŠâ
âIndeed, but first, alloweth us giveth the saint a reward.â
Huh?
What reward?
âWherefore the surprised visage? Didst thee very much bethink we wouldst consume our meals for free and leaveth without a single form of gratitude?â
âWe art not unprincipled daws like Zeus. We shall payeth for all yond we consumed,â assure Hades and Poseidon, representatives of the rest of the deities.
Well, nothing would be better than getting rewarded for our efforts, I supposeâŠ
âBut with all due respect, it still comes to me as a surprise. I thought gods were more unreasonable than this.â
â100% of yond image wast did create by Zeus.â
Oh, I see.
ââŠTo all deities presenteth here the present day, I wouldst liketh to remindeth thee to never speaketh a word of this Elysium to Zeus.â
âOF COURSE!!!â
The gods unanimously agree.
âIf that gent finds out about this place, that gent belike wanteth to calleth this his exclusive sanctuary and ruleth over it.â
âOn top of yond, that gent shall berattle the children of men and eventually rid everything.â
âTo prevent yond from happening, nay word of this Elysium might not but beest uttered in front of Zeus!â
âIf that gent doest findeth out, all of us shall uniteth and beat that gent to a pulp!â
WellâŠ
Being protected by the gods themselves is more reassuring than ever.
âLet us not get side-tracked. What we shouldst beest talking about nou is what kind of reward to giveth our most wondrous saint.â
âJust so thee knoweth, that gent hast already hath taken a gift from Hephaestus. Keepeth in mind to not breaketh the promise of not giving more than one gift.â
Didnât he also say that before?
Just what exactly is this âpromise?â
âLongeth, longeth ago, Zeus bestowed the human race various blessings.â
âHe excessively gaveth those folk protection, blessings, and holy armor to nay endeth. As a result, the human raceth becameth as stout as the gods yond it beganeth to disrupt the balanceth of the world.â
âThose were very much tough times. At yond timeth, the most wondrous hero of the human race gathered all the power that gent couldst and easily did betray Zeus just liketh yond and hath tried to overthrow us all.â
âThe Three Realm Deities then cooperated and did manage to suppress that gent. Those three gents then established a gage not to giveth too much power to a single child to serve as a lesson henceforth.â
The more I listen to their story, the more it makes sense.
A significant imbalance in power is indeed bad.
âThough we can nay longether bestow upon thee any further protection, âr blessings after receiving Hephaestusâ gift⊠Letâs seeth, as compensation for thy generous offerings, weâll promiseth thee a bountiful foison for the rest of the year.â
âThat we shalt.â
Holy light spread from the palms of Hades and Poseidon, outstretching their hands together.
âCan I wend next?â says the goddess with wavy, dark-blonde hair that shines like the surface of the sea shimmering in the setting sun.
âI am Amphitrite, wife of Poseidon. I hasât been wondering for a while nou, but thou art parteth of our family, yes?â
âH-Huh?â
Sheâs pointing at Platy.
âI bethought so! Youâre quite the witch, being able to changeth thy compliment extern with charm potions! As recognition of thy ability and as grant you mercy for the present day, I shalt bestow upon thee âFlote Mother Goddessâ Blessing!ââ
Platyâs body absorbs the light emitted from Amphitriteâs palm.
âW-Wow⊠I can feel that Iâve been given something incredibleâŠâ
Even Platy couldnât hide her amazement.
âDonât worry, mine own blessing is not limited liketh Hadesâ!â
âGood now, Iâm nextâŠâ
The next goddess that spoke had jet-black, shiny, beautiful hair, in contrast to Amphitrite.
It makes you think of the sea at night with her wavy black hair.
âI also hasât a particular witch in mind⊠Thee.â
âHuh? Me?!â
The black-haired goddess chooses Puffer, Witch of the Bitter Cold.
ââŠI can bid yond thee shall support a dutiful sir one of these days. Hence, I, Medusa, shalt bestow upon thee âThe Flote Princessâ Blessing.ââ
Puffer then absorbed the beam of light that was emitted from the deity.
âIâm grateful for whateverâs being given to me, but⊠Whatâs this about âsupporting a dutiful man?!â
The gods continue to pick particular people they like and give them all sorts of blessings.
âYou there, orc. I senseth a sparketh of righteousness from thy eyes yond is hard to cometh across. I, Rhadamanthys, judgeth of the underworld, shalt grant thee the power to seeth through valorous and evil.â
âYou behold tough for a demon! I, Orion, god of hunting, shall giveth thee the power to readeth the stars!â
âYou must beest elves. I, Hypnos, shalt grant thee sleep yond shall sootheth thee twice as better.â
And so on.
The rest of the gods gave whatever they wanted to whomever they wanted and paid their bill their own way.
âWell then, children of men, thee hasât did satisfy us gods. Nothing maketh us more blissful than seeing such good-hearted children such as thyselves walking the visage of this earth.â
After saying that, the gods vanished and returned to their realm.
Now that itâs over, all that had happened was so astonishing that it makes me wonder if any of it was real.
After the ruckus that swept us like a violent storm, what we got wasâŠ
âHey, Dear, for some reason, knowledge of potions that I never knew before are starting to pop up in my mindâŠâ
âI can stuff more magic in my potions now!â
âIs it just me, or am I running way faster than before?â
