Song Qiyan arrived before Qiao Qiao could finish her ordered cup of hot cocoa.
He always liked to drive that light gray car, that was like a stable moving pigeon gray that appeared and extended out like lightning from the corner of the road. It was very strange that lightning could be described as ‘stable’, but every time Song Qiyan drove, these types of thoughts always jumped into Qiao Qiao’s mind.
Qiao Qiao jumped up from her seat, waving her arms spiritedly through the coffee shop’s multicolored glass in an attempt to try to attract the attention of the other party. The light gray car slowly stopped at the door of the coffee shop. The man rolled down the driver’s window and motioned for Qiao Qiao to come out.
Qiao Qiao happily ran out.
Of course, a second before she left the cafe’s door, she modestly took a picture of the floor-standing mirror in the store, and then found that her necklace today looked a bit silly. She frantically took it off and stuffed it into her bag.
Song Qiyan had on a pair of tea-colored sunglasses, his hand was placed on the edge of the car’s window. The soft silhouette of the side of his face was faintly bathed in the glittering gold of the evening light, causing Qiao Qiao’s heart to jump as she saw this.
“Did you wait a long time?” Song Qiyan waited for Qiao Qiao to close the door before starting the car. He tilted his head a bit to the side as he looked at Qiao Qiao, making his narrow eyes, hidden behind the lens, look especially affectionate. “The branch held a last-minute meeting today. “
“No, no!” Qiao Qiao quickly expressed, “I haven’t even finished my cup of hot cocoa yet. Besides, it’s not like I have anything to do and Director Song is busy with work.”
“En.” He answered, and stopped talking, devoting his attention to driving.
It was unknown what kind of scent was permeating the car, but a faint tendril of cold fragrance curled around the tip of Qiao Qiao’s nose, as though the misty frost had fallen from a mountain peak that had gathered snow all year round; every tendril lacing in and teasing one’s nerves.
“…Where are we going?” Qiao Qiao couldn’t help but speak up after holding it in for a while, because she found that they were heading in the opposite direction of her small apartment, and it didn’t seem like they were going to the branch.
“My home.” Song Qiyan spat out this bombshell without even batting an eye.
…
“Actually, it really isn’t anything very important, Director Song!” Qiao Qiao waved her hand quickly from fright, “It’s nothing that has to be hurriedly determined today, I haven’t even put proper thought into it myself.”
“You can think more on it once we’re there.”
“Then…how about let’s find a place to eat first?!”
“We can eat at my place.”
“How could I do that! Besides, it’s too late to prepare anything…”
“I already ordered takeout.”
Qiao Qiao was completely defeated.
She couldn’t voice out a single word and suddenly blushed again after three seconds. Qiao Qiao carefully covered her heated cheeks with her hands and pressed her back tightly against the chair, pretending to be nonchalant. However, small flowers were blooming one after the other in happiness inside her heart, all in the color of Song Qiyan’s lips; a pastel pink kind of light red.
Qiao Qiao internally thought, I’m really such a loser.
But she couldn’t be blamed. She has already followed Song Qiyan for two years. Don’t look at how Song Qiyan was just a few years older than her, but Qiao Qiao really admired this person in charge of her from the bottom of her heart. Song Qiyan was serious and strict when it came to work, and was especially innovative. He was creative and had a mysterious power to miraculously change rotten scripts, even though it was always under the circumstances when he felt that the plot was boring and tasteless, would he then take matters into his own hands to do something about it.
Qiao Qiao’s more well-known plays were all personally modified by Song Qiyan. He would also explain to Qiao Qiao with great patience on how body language should be used in certain places to express herself. Those tiny details and movements sometimes made Qiao Qiao feel that Song Qiyan was a real actor because he looked so experienced.
“What are you thinking about? Is it too hot in the car?” Song Qiyan swept a glance at Qiao Qiao with his peripheral vision and saw that she kept holding her face with her hands without moving anywhere else, so he reached out and turned up the air conditioner.
“No…” Qiao Qiao quickly put down her hand as though she just snapped awake, “Is Director Song’s house far from here?”
“This is it.”
