After calming Shao Yanxi down, Liu Yu’an can see everyone’s eyes on them. He smiles and says, “I’m fine. Though I’ve troubled everyone. Let’s go back.”
“Yeah,” and everyone turns to go back.
Liu Yu’an follows behind while holding onto Shao Yanxi’s hand, though Shao Yanxi doesn’t move. So Liu Yu’an asks, “what’s wrong?”
Shao Yanxi doesn’t speak and pulls his hand away, before walking over to where Liu Yu’an was standing and picks the bag of raspberries back up. Of course, the bag isn’t sealed tight, so some raspberries are already on the ground. Shao Yanxi tries to pick them back up but Liu Yu’an stops him, “they’re all dirty now, don’t.”
Shao Yanxi hesitates before going ‘mm’ and very carefully and gently tying the handles of the bag together, sealing the remaining raspberries inside, before standing back up, saying, “I’m done.”
Liu Yu’an extends his hand, and Shao Yanxi takes it.
Neither of them speaks on the way back, contrasting much with the people in the front who are chitchatting about He Anran.
Speaking of, Liu Yu’an asks, “is she fine?”
He Anran’s fans really are quite the warmongers. It might even be possible for the show to be cut before it can even air.
“She’s fine,” Shao Yanxi says, adding, “she was merely scared.”
“Merely… scared? Was she not bitten?” Shao Yanxi is quite surprised.
“No, she was just in shock,” Shao Yanxi says, telling him that the doctor checked and discovered no bite wound at all. And He Anran’s own testimony is quite ambiguous as well, as she was too scared to know whether the snake did or did not bite her.
Liu Yu’an “…”
“I see,” although the show being forced to cut short like this is rather unfortunate, but at least He Anran wasn’t hurt.
Close to the hotel, Xu Bing and Lin Xi are hanging out in the courtyard and see Liu Yu’an and co. Xu Bing yells out, “An-ge, are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Liu Yu’an yells in return.
Xu Bing still wants to ask, but Liu Yu’an, and Shao Yanxi right next to him, and the two holding hands, made Xu Bing decide against yelling some more.
Lin Xi speaks in turn, “An-ge, thank goodness you’re here. The director is waiting.”
“What is it?” Liu Yu’an instinctively feels that something must have come up.
Lin Xi replies, “the footage of Anran-jie being bitten by a snake was leaked.”
“…” Liu Yu’an asks, “how?”
“A fan of Anran-jie in the show did it,” Xu Bing shrugs, sounding a bit displeased, “apparently it’s the cameraman’s nephew, who’s interning under him.”
“… What did the director say?”
“For Anran-jie to clear it up and us to cooperate.”
They enter the hotel as they speak. Liu Yu’an ‘mm’s, and tells them, “go tell the director we’re back and I’ll go see him as soon as possible.”
Since Shao Yanxi is there, they just agreed and heads off. After parting with the others, Liu Yu’and and Shao Yanxi head back up into their room.
Inside, as soon as he puts the raspberries down Shao Yanxi immediately turns around and kisses Liu Yu’an, so suddenly that Liu Yu’an doesn’t react and is pressed to the wall.
It’s the first time ever that Shao Yanxi is displaying such open affection. Liu Yu’an chuckles at the surprise, but then he feels his lips bitten.
Shao Yanxi bit him. Hard. As if he’s trying to consume him whole.
Of course, that is impossible, as Liu Yu’an just ends up with a sizable wound on his lips. He then tries his best to ignore the pain as he wipes the tears that come rolling down again, “alright, I’m fine, you don’t need to cry again.”
Shao Yanxi “…”
He really isn’t crying. It’s just that he has sensitive tear glands. He doesn’t want to cry at all.
Liu Yu’an pulls Shao Yanxi over to the sofa before retrieving the raspberries and the remaining fruit he brought back yesterday to wash them clean in the bathroom before taking them back out.
“Try some?” Liu Yu’an takes a raspberry and holds it near Shao Yanxi’s mouth.
Shao Yanxi hesitates slightly before leaning forward and eats it straight from Liu Yu’an’s hand.
Liu Yu’an is pleasantly surprised that Shao Yanxi did that for the first time ever as he continues feeding him fruit this way. During which Shao Yanxi also does the same and feeds Liu Yu’an. They spend some quality time together, until Shao Yanxi reminds him, “you said you were going to go to the director over half an hour ago.”
Liu Yu’an stands up, “yeah, I’ll be going.”
Then he plants a kiss on Shao Yanxi’s cheek and says, “I’ll be back soon.”
“Mm.”
Liu Yu’an leaves and heads for the director’s room downstairs. In the director’s room, everyone else has been dismissed and there’s only the director and some other managers left, currently in a video conference with Ning Xi, the CEO of Liu Yu’an’s company.
Inside, Liu Yu’an greets them. Seeing only him and not Shao Yanxi makes everyone slightly disappointed, but it’s understandable. The CEO of Heng’an Conglomerate obviously doesn’t have time to deal with such a small project.
Liu Yu’an asks, “I heard the footage of He Anran getting bitten has been leaked?”
The director is currently a bit sensitive to the word ‘bite’ and immediately corrects him, “ not bitten.”
“Right, not bitten, and?” He says, as he pulls a chair over to sit next to them.
The director replies, “since the footage has been leaked already, with a snake in it, so we can’t just say there isn’t one. We’re planning to release the footage of you suppressing the snake to divert attention away from He Anran’s overreaction. She’ll also clarify in person. Although He Anran’s fans might target you, it should otherwise be beneficial for you as well.”
The director says, then adds instinctively “you should discuss it with your agent” before recalling they’re in a conference with Liu Yu’an’s boss already, and changes his mind, “nevermind, but just think about it.”
The footage of Liu Yu’an neutralising the snake threat was actually pretty cool. With the hospital and He Anran’s own clarification, it will help Liu Yu’an to gain fans and for the show to have some free advertising in turn.
The show has already made a deal with He Anran. Thankfully the camera has stopped rolling by the time He Anran was told not to run because the venom might disperse, or it would have been an even harder job to explain. So now as soon as Liu Yu’an agrees; if it weren’t for Liu Yu’an’s special background, given his standing in the entertainment industry they wouldn’t even have asked for his opinion first though.
Liu Yu’an immediately replies, “I’m fine with it, but you’ll have to tell my agent to handle the advertising and whatnot.” Then, he leaves to go back to their room.
Inside, Shao Yanxi is working. He stops as soon as Liu Yu’an comes in, and asks, “done?”
“They made a plan.”
“Need any help?”
“Not really,” Liu Yu’an walks over and takes a seat on the sofa next to him and gets an apricot for himself, but then he thinks a bit and hands it over to Shao Yanxi’s mouth, “try it.”
“I ate some already,” so he says, as he eats the apricot nonetheless, “just tell me if you need anything.”
“Yeah, of course, if I need it,” Liu Yu’an says, smiling.
Then they chat a bit more and get back to their respective work; Shao Yanxi actually working while Liu Yu’an surfs WeChat.
There’s quite a bit of scolding online, but, somehow, Liu Yu’an stepping on the snake gained him some fans as well. That is when Ren Jianzhang also calls to ask what happened.
Liu Yu’an tells him everything and also what the director’s plans are. Ren Jianzhang then says, “alright, I see. I’ll deal with it. Call me if anything else comes up.”
“Yeah.” Then Liu Yu’an hangs up. Soon enough, the director sends a group message to everyone in the team, [Anran is fine, so, take a rest for now, we’ll resume shooting this afternoon]
Though they already have enough footage for the first season, but, just in case, the director still wants a bit more to be safe.
Because of what happened this morning, the show chose something that could never go wrong, with them sitting by the tent and having a singing contest. Soon enough, they’re done.
And they finally head back for civilisation.
At the airport, Liu Yu’an sees that Shao Yanxi actually came on his private jet.
He can’t help but chuckle thinking that he contributed to the private jet not gathering dust in the hangars.
Then he recalls that once the secretaries from the secretariat said he bought planes and yachts and stuff with Shao Yanxi’s money.
He’ll have to deal with them too; maybe he should sell them. Since Shao Yanxi has his own jet, he can just use his if he needs to. It’s expensive to keep a plane, you know.
Afterwards, Liu Yu’an parts with everyone’s jealous gazes with a ‘see you in the future’ and heads for Shao Yanxi’s jet with him.
Though the crowd breaks into murmurs behind them.
“I’m envious. I want a private jet too,” Xu Bing says.
The director chuckles and replies, “maybe, if you work really really hard.”
He tells him about two celebrities he knows who also has private jets.
Xu Bing is enthused, as are many of those present.
Meanwhile, Liu Yu’an, Shao Yanxi and assistant He boards the private jet, greeted by the pilot and co-pilot, who are in their thirties.
Soon enough, the plane gets permission to take off and soars into the air.
Fortunately for the pilots, the sealed cockpit is immune from Shao Yanxi and Liu Yu’an’s lovey-dovey attack. Though not so much for assistant He, who swears again he’s going to look for a girlfriend as soon as he’s back.
He really can’t stand the two anymore.
Suddenly, the assistant thinks, quite utterly inappropriately, that he misses the Liu Yu’an that was completely dismissive and derisive towards his boss.
At least, they wouldn’t be so sweet that he’d get toothaches, nor would his boss ignore him sitting right next to them like this.
