This village that wasnāt even on the map had 5 wooden houses.Ā
All of them were 1 story house that looked the same. The exterior was very simple, without any decorations or flowering plants. It seemed to be fit for living though.
Selesina, Hisui, and Toi went further inside. There saw 3 small children, 2 young women in their twenties. They were preparing food in a large pot.
The looked towards us with wary eyes.
āThank God they have foodā¦ā¦..ā
Selesina breathed a sigh of relief and called out to the women.
āIām Selesina Rinklat. I would like to meet the person in charge of this village, could you please guide me.
āA noble, hereā¦.ā
āUmm, Iāll guide you. Please come this way.ā
āThank you.ā
One of the women was shocked and the other hurriedly guided us in.
The children looked at us curiously and trembled a little when they laid their eyes on Toi. Looks like they were scared of him since he was a huge dog.
āIāll take them to Grandpa Anton so you finish making the food.ā
āUnderstood.ā
āYes.ā
The young woman took us to the house that right in the center.
There was no magic tool to light up the inside of the house but light flooded into the house through the window on the ceiling.
There were two men inside the house.
āItās been several months since we started living hereā¦ā¦ā¦.weāve tried making fields but as expected it didnāt work out.ā
āThe soil isnāt very good.ā
āIf we could only pump some water from the river over hereā¦ā¦.ā
The man looked like he was in his fifties as he let out a huge sigh. The one who agreed with him was an even older man. They seemed to be extremely worried about this village.
āThatās not all there is to be worried aboutā¦ā¦ā¦.The landowner may have an objection.ā
āThatās right. But staying in the slums in the cityā¦ā¦..wouldnāt have been good for the future of those kids.ā
She was reminded of the children in this village.
If they were to grow up in those slums, they wouldnāt be able to turn into decent adults. In order for them to grow up properly and get decent jobs, they should grow up in a betterā¦ā¦ā¦.environment. Thatās what these men seemed to wish for.
There was a hurried knock on their door.Ā
A voice called out, āgrandpa Anton!āĀ
Anton, being the old man.
āWhat is it? So noisy.ā
āUmm, we have some honored guests.ā
āGuests? Honored?ā
Thatās a very respectful way of speaking, Anton, the old man laughed and said. Although his eyes flew open when he saw Selesina at the back.
āIs this the person in charge of this village?ā
Selesina curtseyed gracefully and said.
āItās my first time meeting you. Iām Selesina Rinklat. I was entrusted to the 7th district by my father- the Marquis. Nice to meet you.ā
āThe daughter of the Lordā¦ā¦!?ā
āThis is Gatz. Letās do the introductions first. Iām Anton, the person in charge of this village.ā
āEx, Excuse meā¦ā¦.! Iām Gatz. I make homes and fields.ā
Selesina was relieved from the bottom of her heart that they introduced themselves so easily. She was worried that they mayā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.be hostile towards her.
She thought that since they came from the slums, they may dislike nobles.
āā¦ā¦ā¦..They want to protect the children.ā
Maybe thatās also the reason why they are being so nice.
āThat, is the Lord angry that we constructedā¦ā¦..homes here?ā
Gatzās hands were trembling a little when he asked Selesina. What if they were asked to leave immediately?
Selesina shook her head while smiling in order to relieve him.
āNo, father has entrusted this land to me.ā
āTo Lady Selesinaā¦..?ā
āYes.ā
Gatz widened his eyes when he heard that.
Why? Because it was a very famous story that the daughter of the lord wasnāt given any divine blessings ā There was probably no one in the country who didnāt know about it.
Thatās why Gatz thought thatā¦ā¦ā¦..this land must have been abandoned.
āThatās, umm, thatā¦..ā
āGatz. First, let her have a seat. We canāt talk with her standing thereā¦ā¦.ā
āThank you for letting us in.ā
Selesina sat down on the chair and Gatz prepared tea. After thanking him, she turned.ā¦ā¦ā¦.and looked behind.
āHisui and Toiā¦ā¦..ā
āWeāll wait outside.ā
āIs that so? Thank you.ā
It wouldnāt be good to have a large dog come into the house so she let them wait outside apologetically.
She introduced Hisui to Anton and Gatz and then moved on to the main subject.
āLet me tell you straight away.ā
āYe, yesā¦.ā
Selesina looked straight at Anton and Gatz and took in a deep breath.
āI would like to plant a great tree here and manage this place as the Lady of this land.ā
āDoes that mean that you willā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦recognize this place as a village?ā
āYes.ā
Selesina cheerfully nodded to Antonās question.
Selesina would become the Lord and Anton would be the village chief and this village would be officially recognized. It will be named and receive a place on the map.
For a person like Anton who lived such a humble life, this was great news.
āThere was the fact that Selesina didnāt have any blessings butā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦this land is already not very good so it most likely wouldnāt deteriorate further by having a Lord that didnāt possess any blessings.
Moreover, the actual owner of this land is Bethel.
So this land should be under the protection of Bethelās blessings.ā Anton thought.
Moreover, the fact that this village could be recognized was very welcome. He lowered his head.
āThank you Lady Selesina. There are very few people here other than me and Gatz butā¦ā¦ā¦.but weāll cooperate with you to become your strength.ā
āThank you for your help and nice to meet you, Mr. Anton.ā
There were 14 people in this village including Anton and Gatz.
There were 2 men in their twenties, 3 women in their twenties, and 7 children. They helped each other out and cooperated with each other for daily living including cooking etc.
āThey were preparing food outside in that large pot.ā
She happily thought that this was a warm place. If itās here then she may be able to do well even without blessings.
āEven if itās just a little, she wanted to be acknowledged by the people in this village.ā
She aimed to turn this into a big town!
Of course, it would be great if this place could be developed into a big cityā¦ā¦but for now, she was the oversee this place for a year. Most likely, within that time, she here engagement would also be broken.
At that time she didnāt want to be alone, she wanted to have more allies.
āIn that case, letās plant the great tree. Mr. Anton, can I plant the seed in the center of this village?ā
āOf course! I would have never imagined that I would be able to witness the planting of the great treeā¦ā¦ā¦..ā
Anton and Gatz swallowed hard. They couldnāt hide their surprise that a great treeā¦ā¦ā¦..would actually be planted in this village.
The great tree protects and blesses the land around it within a certain radius.
The effect is proportional to the blessings of the owner of the land.
For example, it could shield the village or city from an enemy invasion, help the growth of vegetation, or give good health to the citizens of the town.
More important is the Asgarl system that players can use.
