Of this pair, Yin Xiaoxiao’s parents were also Yin Dabai and Hua Xiaohua, and Mo Laoda’s parents weren’t coming. It was near evening when Hua Xiaohua returned, dragging prey. When he saw Yin Xiaoxiao lazily reclining in the empty field in front of the cave, Hua Xiaohua gnashed his teeth in anger and bellowedd, “Yin Xiaoxiao! You’re lying down while I’m working!” ² .

Yin Xiaoxiao’s eyes narrowed as he yawned, his mouth curled and he unwillingly moved away, leaving the way clear for Hua Xiaohua. Really, there was obviously a lot of space here. Pops couldn’t go around him?!

Yin Xiaoxiao smiled, chuckling foolishly, his happiness clearly evident.

The group of snakes were busy, Yin Xiaoxiao was lazy, and five days quickly passed. The three couples’ partnership ceremony would be held the next day!

The snakes stood staring at the cave which was almost half-filled with prey, hearts bursting with pride and self-satisfaction. It had been a very busy and chaotic few days, but the accomplishment was obvious.

“Yes, yes, not bad, not bad.” Staring at the prey, Yin Xiaoxiao nodded, resembling a leader performing an inspection.

Standing next to Yin Xiaoxiao, Hua Xiaohua firmly smacked Yin Xiaoxiao’s head with his tail. “What does this have to do with you?!”

Hit by Hua Xiaohua, Yin Xiaoxiao’s face held an expression of being wronged but, upon hearing Hua Xiaohua’s question, Yin Xiaoxiao no longer felt aggrieved. Instead, he looked somewhat smug. He straightened up. “Hmph! How is it related to me?! My Heitan caught most of the prey! Heitan is my future partner! How can it not have to do with me?!”

Hua Xiaohua: “….”

Mo Laoda smiled, tail caressing Yin Xiaoxiao’s head.

Yes, what Yin Xiaoxiao said was true. More than a third of the prey in this cave was caught by Mo Laoda.

The day was becoming more and more full until the time had come to hold the partnership ceremony. Vipers emerged almost simultaneously. Yin Dabai, Hua Xiaohua and the other snakes also came over. It was at this moment that an elderly Yin snake appeared, slithering into the empty space that the vipers had intentionally left – where the three couples also stood.

That old Yin snake directed a loving gaze at the three prospective couples and, with a smile, said, “It seems that I am the oldest here today. This being the case, I will preside over today’s ceremonies.”

Surrounded by cheering vipers, the other two couples, embarrassed, kissed.

By the time the three couples separated, the crowd of snakes had already regained calm. The old Yin snake continued, saying, “Next, I ask the parents of the partners to step forward and say a few words.”
