Yu Nuo was finally able to find him a few years later. At that point Luo Wensheng was bedridden that he no longer recognized his lover. The two spent their last moments together as Luo Wensheng finally died in Yu Nuo’s arms.
This was the epitome of the novel summarizing the title of the book: “When my lover gets old, I will still be as beautiful as a flower.” This was a tragic story of young and old love.

Even after decades and hundreds of years, he still missed Luo Wensheng so Yu Nuo traveled back the day they met. That same day where he was only sixteen and Luo Wensehng was seventeen.
They started falling in love on campus and walked hand-in-hand for another lifetime.
From the reader’s perspective, they would think this was simply a story about traveling to the past to meet your lover again. Until they realized that the scene, they read at the beginning had repeated. Luo Wensehng once again ran away, and Yu Nuo had called the police to search for him.
Only then does the reader get the full picture that this wasn’t Yu Nuo’s first time travelling back. The story at the beginning was already one of his countless crossings. This is a story about a man who will never grow old and constantly travelling back in time so he can embrace his lover just once more.

Yu Nuo eventually continues living on, ageless, until hundreds and thousands of years later when humanity finally developed the technology to travel back in time. Yu Nuo uses this technology to go back to the day when he was still a sixteen and Luo Wensheng was seventeen and they fall in love all over again and spend their days together all the way until the scene where Luo Wensheng, who is now an old man, runs away again because he couldn’t bear burdening his young lover.
This is where readers find out that Yu Nuo is basically in a never-ending cycle. He finds Luo Wensheng who’s on the verge of death, spends his days together with him, then wait thousands of years for the time travel technology to develop so he could go back to the day when he was sixteen to fall in love with Luo Wensheng again.
