TL: I don’t know why part of the last chapter didn’t copy over (probably user error 😅). It’s fixed now.

The door closed gently, and a strange silence settled over the main control room.

“This uniform is very sexy. I can’t wait to strip it off and fuck you.” A familiar voice whispered into her ear.

Bai Zhi’s face heated, but her body relaxed, “ Zhao Zixun, you ass.”

Zhao Zixun smirked. His hot, numbing breath fanned over her shoulder and neck, “I was being serious.”

She turned her head and ignored him like a petulant child. Getting out from under the table, she opened the last remaining drawer.

Inside, sat a thick stack of documents. Each folder contained the mug shot of a prisoner along with his personal information. Someone had also scrawled their own notes in red and black ink along the margins.

Without waiting for her to read through the contents, Zhao Zixun took the files from her. He flipped through the stack so quickly that she only had time to catch part of it.

Zhao Zixun

…

The more Bai Zhi read, the more shocked she became. Di Qing was charged with “indiscriminate killing” and Ye Xiao… Ye Xiao also had a record!

Was he a part of the game?

She recognized dice man’s picture. He had died just a few days ago. He was accused of gambling. There was a shocking red X drawn in red marker across his page. Did this indicate his death and removal from the game?

There were also many profiles of people she didn’t know. The only person who didn’t have a file was her.

Zhao Zixun finished flipping through the stack. He carefully put it back exactly as they had found it. “Hurry and lock it up. In three minutes, the security system will be back up and the screen will revert to the real footage.”

“I didn’t get to read…”

“I will tell you about it later. Hurry up, we can’t get caught.” He hurried her.

Bai Zhi bit her lip. She quickened her pace, locking up the drawers one by one.

“Let’s go,” Zhao Zixun grabbed Bai Zhi and left the main control room. They disappeared into the night.

“You’ve become bolder. You even dare to steal things by yourself now, eh?” Back in their room, Zhao Zixun pulled Bai Zhi onto the bed. His powerful body towered over her threateningly. His eyebrows were drawn like icy daggers as he frowned down at her.

“What else can I do…” She whispered.

“You’re too careless. Did you know there’s a security cam in the main control room? Zheng Ze and the others were also there tonight. Do you know what would have happened if you had been caught by either of the parties?” Zhao Zixun spoke in a dangerously low voice. “Where did you get the keys from?”

“Di Qing gave them…”

“Why did he give them to you?”

“I—” Bai Zhi stammered, “I don’t know…” She hadn’t thought about it. Di Qing had warned her not to get weird thoughts, but then gave her a bunch of important keys and told her that he looked forward to her performance.

Zhao Zixun’s face darkened. He pressed Bai Zhi firmly down on the bed and kissed her hard as if venting his frustrations. He bit her lips and maintained the kiss until she became dizzy from the lack of oxygen.

Bai Zhi rode out his torment and waited for him to calm down. Gently pushing away his heavy body, she asked, “What was in those files?”

He was still on top of her. Burying his head into the side of her neck, he said, “Just some basic information. It’s of no use to you.”

“Are you— Are you searching for the warden? Did you find him? What’s your role?” Bai Zhi persisted on asking.

“Be good. Knowing too much is dangerous.” Zhao Zixun stroked her forehead comfortingly. He refused to answer any of her questions.

Bai Zhi bit her lip, “I… I saw that your charge was ‘deception’.”

“So?”

“So, you’re not only an ass but a lying ass.” She declared snidely. (TL: She seems to have forgotten that he stabbed someone and tore out their guts.)

Zhao Zixun smiled cryptically. His strong arms wrapped around her body, and he flipped them over so that she was lying on top of his broad chest. His hands stroked down the length of her back to massage her plush buttocks.

“You’re right. I am an ass and a liar,” he said gruffly. His manhood swelled and pressed into her tender abdomen through their clothing, however, he didn’t demand more.

For some inexplicable reason, she flushed.

They just laid there together. She could feel his breaths become deep and steady as if he were about to fall asleep.

“Zhao Zixun…?”

“…Hmmm?”

“Don’t kill anymore.”

“… Mm,” He hummed in response. The deep rumble of his chest transmitted directly into her ears.

Bai Zhi sighed and gently hugged his body, snuggling into his embrace.

She knows that he’s a liar, so she will never believe in his promises again.
