After taking the pill, Bai Zhi didn’t return to her own useless, unlockable prison cell, but back to Zhao Zixun.
When she pushed the door open, a gust of cigarette smoke billowed out. The curtains were drawn tight encasing the entire room in pitch-black darkness. Apart from some light leeching in from the open door where she stood, everything else looked dead and gloomy.
Zhao Zixun was sat on the bed smoking. He exhaled slow rings of smoke and he looked through them at her. His despondent mood seemed to be magnified— his eyes were empty, just staring blankly in her direction.
Bai Zhi felt her heart beating uneasily. She felt a strange sense of guilt, but she clearly understood that she had done nothing wrong. She took a deep breath in, closed the door, and gently pulled open the curtains.
“Why didn’t you open the curtains?” she asked carefully, trying to pick a neutral topic, and keep her voice steady.
Zhao Zixun continued to stare at her wordlessly. He puffed out another cloud of smoke, there was neither anger nor blame in his eyes. But she knew… it was impossible to feel absolutely nothing. The longer the silence stretched, the more scared she became.
“I… I went to get contraceptives,” she blurted out, her voice was very quiet.
Zhao Zixun’s eyes flickered and he slowly rose from the bed. He walked towards her, “Who did you get it from? Di Qing?”
She nodded her head watching him closing in. She felt stalked like prey being hunted. She closed her eyes and turned away.
“Did he fuck you? Was he with Lu Ye?” Zhao Zixun used his body to trap her against the window. He leaned in close until his lips were pressed against her ear, then whispered in a low voice, “Who took out the plug for you?”
“It—It was also Di Qing…” she lied.
He sneered.
She bit her lip nervously; she was already backed against the wall.
“You never listen to me… Running around uselessly.” Zhao Zixun’s body leaned into hers, pushing her into the wall and crushing the air out of her. She had difficulty breathing, but she couldn’t break free.
He lifted her chin and kissed her. There was obvious restraint in his movements as if he were suppressing something dark and primal. She shrank back, but her mouth was still violated by his tongue. He didn’t spare any nook or cranny.
One of his large hands reached down. His middle finger covertly scouted her little cave, while his thumb and index finger rubbed her sensitive pearl.
Her breaths came faster and her legs weakened. She squeezed her legs around his trunk-like arm and leaned her weight on him.
“It’s been washed so clean, from the inside out… Who helped you? Di Qing, Lu Ye, or…” he speculated in a low voice.
Afraid to hear more names come out of his mouth, Bai Zhi pulled on the hem of his clothes.
“Zhao Zixun… Don’t say anymore…” she whimpered softly. She knew that he liked hearing her talk like this.
In one powerful movement, he thrust his finger deep into her body. She clenched painfully. Her slick cave was completely breached and bore the brunt of his anger.
“Didn’t I tell you not to leave my side? Why are you running around by yourself?” His eyes were filled with anger and fury. He hoisted the hem of her uniform over her breasts to reveal the plump, white mounds. His mouth opened wide and chomped down on her tender flesh as if he were really going to bite off a chunk and swallow it whole.
Bai Zhi shuddered helplessly. Her lower body tightened around his finger and she begged, “I’m sorry… I was wrong. I didn’t know that was going to happen. I just wanted to get the plug out… I’m scared of becoming pregnant… so scared… I don’t want it to happen in here… Zhao Zixun…”
Zhao Zixun slightly eased his force, but he didn’t withdraw completely. Instead, he inserted his index finger into her body as well and stirred her thick nectar until it gradually flowed out.
“…Nnng… Zhao Zixun…” she whined softly. His anger was slowly changing over to desire. He began to lick and tease her nipple causing her canal to ache and contract around him with need.
“Click— Ding!” A shrill bell blared loudly. The sound echoed throughout the entire prison and seemed to penetrate space itself. It directly pierced through the people’s minds and scratched at their souls.
Bai Zhi was startled by the sharp sound that even her small hole twitched.
Zhao Zixun thrust his fingers deeply one last time as if to vent his frustrations before pulling her clothes down to cover her body.
“Damn it,” he cursed.
“What was that?” Bai Zhi asked anxiously.
“It’s the bell for the assembly.” He held her firmly to his side and led her out of the room, “Everyone in the prison will be there. Be sure to stay by my side, don’t stray even half a step from me. Do you understand?”
Everyone… Bai Zhi nodded in dread and clutched onto Zhao Zixun.
The distance from the living quarters to the assembly location was long. Zhao Zixun walked quickly, while Bai Zhi followed closely behind. They passed through the flat, grassy field and walked into a tall, Roman-style colosseum. They passed beneath a large gate flanked by vertical columns and entered a small, open-air amphitheater.
To call it a theatre was a bit of a stretch. The walls of the circular space were covered with foam and soundproofing materials while the top was completely open. One could see the barbed wire net crisscrossing the clear blue sky above. At the center of the room was a high, circular platform. Oddly though, there were no seats around the stadium. The spectators can only stand around, looking up towards the stage.
There were already people standing in isolated groups of twos and threes. They were scattered throughout the stadium, each doing their own thing. However, as soon as Bai Zhi and Zhao Zixun walked in, all eyes focused on them— to be precise, on Bai Zhi. There were gazes of interest, curiosity, laziness, and malicious desire. There was even one gaze of pity.
She hid behind Zhao Zixun to avoid those eyes. Raising her head, she saw Di Qing and Lu Ye standing on the high platform for some unknown amount of time, condescendingly looking down at the goings-on beneath the stage. Ye Xiao stood behind the two, with a cold expression. He seemed to glance past her without noticing her presence at all.
Several people suddenly approached from behind. Bai Zhi had wanted to hold onto Zhao Zixun but felt someone lifting the hem of her dress. She felt a slight breeze brush past her lower back. She blushed and stretched her hand to cover herself at the same time letting go of Zhao Zixun’s hand.
