Tamon, who was standing beside her, turned and stared at her.
His sun-kissed red eyes were just as beautiful as clear pomegranate seeds, rather than the color of the demon that the world fussed over.
âIâm not the same person I was when I decided to die or I was when I decided to live.â
Roselyn spoke plainly of her current state of mind.
âYou forced my hand, and you must take responsibility for it. Are you ready for that?â
Tamon chuckled.
âNow you sound like you used to be.â
She had the blue ocean at her back. Her silver hair was mysterious because of the way it reflected and glistened in the sunâs rays.
Is this what dazzling looks like? Roselyn smiled faintly. It was the first time she smiled at Tamon.Tamon didnât want to miss a second of it, so he stared at her without blinking an eye.
He thought at that moment.
If God gives him another divine ability. To say, he would replay this moment forever without hesitation.
His breath tightened as if someone was strangling his neck.
His hot breath was burning with desire and obsession for her. He wanted her.
He wanted to own this moment, that smile, that womanâs gazeâŚâŚHe wanted to own them all completely. He had never felt such intense emotions before.
âOkay, Iâll be your partner. In exchange, you will have to do what I want.â (Roselyn)
âIt seems like you want to make a deal.â
âThatâs right. Itâs a deal.â
Roselyn calmly said.
âMake a deal with me. Tamon Krasis.â
A faint flame flickered in her cold purple eyes. Tamon couldnât take his eyes off her. How long has he been waiting for that gaze to come alive?
Thump. Thump.
His heart beat wildly. A shiver ran through him that he didnât understand.
âIâm glad you said that.â
Tamon chuckled.
âIf itâs a deal, shouldnât we say what we each want?
Roselyn nodded.
âIâll grant you three things that you desire in return for being my partner.â
One of Roselynâs eyebrows went up in a lazy motion. That look meant she didnât like something.
âThree things are too few in return for preventing your desired outbursts. Letâs do about five.â
Oh, good.
Tamon liked her refusal to give in, even at a time like this.
âBe more greedy, more, moreâŚDesire something, Aranrosia.â
A black voice, towering like a snake, whispered to him constantly. It was a voice he could not hear, but it whispered to him more intensely than anyone else.
âAll right. Letâs make it five.â
âAnd then another.â
Did his voice reach her? Roselyn was greedy once more.
Tamon smiled leisurely.
Until she finished her words.
âDonât love me.â
His smile paused. Roselyn looked him straight in the eyes and said.
âI know you desire me. But I hope thatâs as far as it goes.â
Tamonâs cold hardening face was reflected in her transparent purple eyes. While looking at him, Roselyn clearly spoke in a calm, rather brazen voice.
âDonât love me.â
Despite her unshaken voice, her fingers were getting cold and her legs were shaking.
â ⌠Do you think I will love you? Youâre arrogant.â
âIf not, thatâs a relief.â
For some incomprehensible reason, Tamonâs mood worsened.
Roselyn hadnât said anything unspeakable, but it felt as if thousand arrows stabbed his heart. This was the woman whom he tried so hard to save, and yet, at this moment, he wanted to strangle her.
Part of him wanted to grab her slim shoulders and shake her so hard because she said crazy things. Tamon said with a twisted smile on his face.
âWhat if I refuse that condition?â
âThen letâs pretend we never had a deal.â
As if that was all, Roselyn shrugged lightly. Once again, Tamonâs mood soured. He wanted to punch the black voice inside him that had mumbled something useless earlier.
Tamon turned around. He gazed at the wide open ocean for a while, and then opened his mouth again.
âSometimes the human mind doesnât work the way you want it to. What if I fall in love with you without realizing it?â
âThen youâll have to stop the relationship yourself.â
âI donât think the outburst is that easy to break.â
**âThe previous pledge will work instead.â
Huh, thatâs the last of that woman.
Tamon glared at Roselyn like he was going to kill her again. He was so angry that he didnât even know what was so wrong with him.
The pledge from before made use of divine power, and the content of the pledge made in Godâs name was enforced by His power. It was Godâs power that ensured that the pledge was kept.
Since Tamonâs different abilities and the outbursts associated with it were also God-related, there was a possibility that the previous could have some power instead. Of course, it would have to be a pledge with a high density of divine power.
âSince I have one high tier pledge, letâs make use of it.â
And just like that, Roselyn has a High Tier pledge that says only one comes out in a year. Tamon gasped and glared at her more and more, chewing in an irritated voice. **
**-** To be honest, I have no idea what they are talking about. I apologize.
âYou didnât have anything. Where is it?â
âYou can get it by requesting it at the temple. I kept it under a different name.â
This made Tamon feel defeated. He wanted to somehow shake that pale face, those lips that spoke of love as she liked. Iâm sure sheâll regret her words one day.
âThatâs fine. By the way, what are you going to do if you fall in love with me?â (Tamon)
Roselynâs brow furrowed, as if she had never wondered about that before. Tamon didnât like that look on Roselynâs face either.
He just didnât like it all.
âI know you donât, but if it happensâŚâ
Hesitantly, Roselyn took a short deep breath and added as if she had made a big decision.
âYou can do as you wish then. If you want to keep me as your partner, you do it, and Iâll go away when you donât.â
Tamon muttered gloomily with a twisted smile.
âThatâs the only thing you like about it, isnât it?â
Roselyn let out a nervous gasp at his unusual glare.
âNow letâs draw up the deal like this.â (Roselyn)
âWait a minute. Youâve only made your demands unilaterally. I need to add my demands as well.â (Tamon)
Roselyn was a little confused, as she didnât expect him to have any additional demands. In truth, she didnât have much to give to him.
She had already given him what he wanted most, so she didnât think there was anything more she could give. But his gaze was intense.
She nodded slightly as if she understood.
âYour right foot.â
ââŚâŚ What?â
Roselynâs white face grew increasingly pale. She furrowed her brow as if she didnât understand his words, but then asked back in an uncharacteristically cautious voice.
âOh⌠you want to cut my foot off?â
Tamon almost laughed out loud for a moment.
She looked so cautious and confused.
As that elegant face displayed different expressions, Tamon felt the urge to shake her more and play tricks on her.
âDidnât you say you donât like that foot?â
âWellâŚ.. But wouldnât it be better if I have all my limbs attached? In many ways.â
âSo?â
âAll you have to do is say youâll give it to me.â
âAre you asking for my consent?â
âYes, I just need your consent.â
It was very suspicious, but there was nothing Roselyn couldnât do. And with her right foot, the Achilles tendon had already been destroyed and very little feeling left.
âWhat a useless thing to ask for.â
âIâm asking you to give it to me because itâs useless. If you donât need it anyway, just give it to me.â
Tamon Krasis was a strange man.
Roselyn stared at him. This man acted as if he wanted everything from her. He even said that he wanted this useless foot.
âWhat the hell are you going to do with my foot?â
âWell, this and that.â
Roselyn stared at him with a stunned expression.
The way he said âthis and thatâ made her look serious and, for a moment, even a little scared. Tamon was a man who could torment her in many ways she did not know.
âYou mean you canât give it to me?â
After a momentâs hesitation, Roselyn opened her mouth.
âOnly if you promise not to behave in such a lascivious mannerâŚ.â
âWhat do you mean?â
Roselyn bit her lip.
âIsnât the basis of the contract an exact statement? Tell me exactly what you mean, and Iâll try not to do just that.â
Tamon stared at her lips, which were tightly closed as if he was curious to see what words would come out of her mouth.
âIf you need some time to think about it?â
Roselyn resisted the urge to blush. And she couldnât think of anything strange that could be done with her foot.
It was because she had very little knowledge. Nevertheless, instinctively she feared that Tamon would try anything.
She looked down at her right foot, which she could barely feel, at the heel.
Whatâs the big deal?
In fact, she received much more from him.
Even though she didnât want to, she still felt embarrassed being indebted to him.
Wasnât he the one who took her outrageous request to not love her seriously?
So she could do at least this. It was a damaged foot anyway.
