Deadly Strike Against the Youngest of the Jun Party
Confused, hearing the chirping of birds not far away, Wen Jing half opened his eyes. His whole body was surrounded by warmth as if he were lying in his bed at home.
He moved his body slightly and a manâs warm voice came from over his head: âAwake?â
Wen Jing blanked out, then immediately sat up with embarra.s.sment: âSenior brother, I slept like a rock last night. Did you sleep at all?â
Jun YanZhi smiled faintly, his slender eyes gazing out of the cave: âI slept a bit. Iâm fine.â
Slept a little, but not a good sleep. Dark shadows could be seen under his eyesâŠâŠ
He had originally wanted to leave a good impression on his senior brother, to keep him company and talk a while, but last night how did he end up sleeping like a dead pig?!
The sky was bright and the mountain air was fresh after the rain.
Wen Jing crawled out of the cave and looked up. Droplets of water from the newly green trees fell drop by drop. Landing on his body, they were a little cold.
Jun YanZhi also exited the cave, shaking his slightly wrinkled clothes.
Wen Jing quietly looked at him. He felt the otherâs complexion was clear and bright, lips slightly upturned. His mood looked much better than last night.
He couldnât help but feel somewhat relieved.
Although he was careless and fell asleep, was he, Wen Jing, such an amusing person? After accompanying his senior brother to sleep for one night, that personâs mood was much improved. This could be considered to be quite an achievementâŠâŠ
Lost in thought, he saw Jun YanZhi smile and say to someone not far away: âSecond senior brother, weâre here.â
Wen Jing followed his gaze and saw only a dense forest, dark and silent, with no sign of life. Not long after, with a gust of wind, a taciturn man flew in from a distant place.
He Ling, wearing a light grey long b.u.t.toned jacket with narrow sleeves, stopped close by and glanced at them with cold eyes.
âItâs time to be on our way. Letâs go.â
Wen Jing was worried.
This was not how things had originally happened.
âJun YanZhi had left the cave and didnât return for a long time. Because his spiritual energy was nearby, Liu QianMo didnât look for him. However, early that morning, his energy disappeared. Liu QianMo and He Ling searched for him everywhere. It was near a cliff that held some peach trees that they found an ancient transportation array. The ground held some faint marks and appeared to have been recently used.
Liu QianMo feared for the safety of Jun YanZhi and wanted to pursue him, but the array remained silent. As it turned out, this transportation array was very old and now held little power. After being used it would be several more years before it could be used again. The voice transmission stone he carried was only good for a range of a few miles, therefore Jun YanZhi was now completely out of contact.â

In other words, Wen Jing needed to quickly find the transmission array.
He had intended to take a walk with senior brother Jun early in the morning in order to take in the scenery and search for those peach trees and the transmission array. He would then trick senior brother Jun into stepping on the array. However, last night he had slept like the dead and had only woken up just now.
What a messâŠâŠ
Jun YanZhi said: âJunior brother, letâs go.â
Seeing that He Ling and Jun YanZhi were leaving, Wen Jing felt anxious. Covering his stomach, he said: âSenior brother, my stomach hurts, I need to go to the bathroom.â
He Ling frowned slightly and said in a low voice: âGo quickly.â
Wen Jing hurriedly trotted away and looked around.
Peach blossoms, peach blossomsâŠâŠ where are the peach trees?
Not too far away there was a faint trace of pink. Located under a cliff, ancient trees were sporadically scattered. A hazy white mist lined the mountains like a beautiful fairyland. Wen Jing had no time to appreciate the view and rushed towards the peach trees.
Under a tree was a flat piece of limestone covered in earth and surrounded by weeds. There seemed to be a hint of strange symbols scattered around with barely a trace of their presence.
Wen Jing gritted his teeth. The description in the novel was brief and he couldnât be completely certain but he had to try it anyway.
He jumped on the limestone and shouted at the top of his lungs: âSenior brother Jun! Senior brother, help me!â
Heâd barely finished speaking before there was a gust of wind in the distance, a surge of spiritual energy, and a manâs voice came from the sky: âStand still and donât move.â
How could Wen Jing not move? Almost inaudibly he said to himself âSenior brother Jun, this is for your own good, please donât beat me upâ, he secretly introduced a portion of his spiritual energy into the transmission array.
Instantly under his feet rays of blue light shone as they gradually rose into the air and surrounded him.
âLu Jing!â A black shadow appeared, his voice carrying a trace of urgency.
In the midst of the confusion, Wen Jing cried out: âSenior brother, the magic power of this array is too strong. I canât hold on ăŒăŒah!â
Suddenly, both arms were firmly pulled in an attempt to drag him out of the light.
At the same time, his five senses gradually faded away and Wen Jing sank into the chaotic void.
Had senior brother Jun also been transportedâŠâŠ?
Before long, his five senses gradually returned and his body suddenly began to fall. His hands loosened and his body slammed into the hard limestone ground, his elbow immediately began to throb from the blow.
A group of birds nestled against each other for warmth in a nearby tree scattered in fright from the loud sound and flew away chirping.
Confused and disoriented, Wen Jing looked to the side and saw a man falling from the sky looking quietly elegant, his breath not in the least bit disordered. Wen Jing relaxed and closed his eyes.
The protagonist had arrived, finally, the original plot was back on courseâŠâŠ
âSenior brother, how are you?â
ââŠâŠIâm fine.â Jun YanZhi pulled Wen Jing up from the ground.
Just then, the blue light in the sky disappeared and a heavy body suddenly appeared and hit the ground. The man rolled over and calmly stood while frowning slightly.
Wen Jing turned his head and stared at He Ling: âSecond Senior BrotherâŠâŠ youâre here too?â
The original text only had the male and female leads without anyone else to disturb them cultivating their feelings. Wen Jing, acting against his will, shamelessly followed after. Now even better, even second senior brother was mixed inâŠâŠ
Suddenly, he pursed his lips.
It originally took Ji KeQing several days for her ice technique to complete the necessary matter. Now with the female leadâs unpredictable actions, it might be possible for second senior brotherâs wind technique to work. It was worth trying.
âŠâŠmysteriously and inexorably, the protagonistâs halo could not be extinguished.
He Ling glanced at him coldly, apparently seeming to hold a trace of anxiety: âWhere are we?â
Jun Yan Zhi looked out as far as he could but could only see that the forest was deep, the light was dark, the air was damp, and there were several jumping animals flashing by in the distance, unable to be clearly seen.
He said: âThe soil is soft and moist, I am afraid weâre near the marshes of Forever Spring Valley. There are a lot of demon beasts.â
He lowered his head and poured a wave of spiritual energy into the transmission array and saw nothing. He looked at Wen Jing and said: âIt wonât start. I fear itâs too old to acc.u.mulate the necessary level of energy any time soon.â
He Ling and Jun YanZhi looked at each other, their expressions somewhat strange.
Those peach trees were at least fifty zhang away on foot. Going so far in order to find a place to go to the bathroom. Was he afraid of being overheard?
Commenting on other peopleâs bathroom habits was a bit vulgar and naturally Jun YanZhi wouldnât ask about it.
He Ling was a man of few words and was unlikely to say anything either.
At this point, they could only think on what to do next.
He Ling asked: âDo you know the way?â
âThe swamp is to the east of the Forever Spring valley. To get to the exit of the ancient array, we should cross the valley. It should take about three or four days to do so.â
The ten of them had already agreed that if they were to be separated on the way, that they would make their way individually to rendezvous in front of the exit to the ancient array and then make their plans.
Wen Jing whispered: âSince we need to cross the Forever Spring valley, why not take the opportunity to look for that âDistant Wood spirit stoneâ? Even if you canât find it, at least you will have no regrets in the future.â
He Ling frowned slightly. It seemed he had some misgivings.
Remaining calm and collected, Jun YanZhi spoke with a warm voice: âIf youâre concerned about eldest senior brother, then it would be better for second senior brother to go meet with eldest senior brother and I will take Lu Jing around with me.â
This was very considerate, but Wen Jing was inwardly concerned.
Now that Ji KeQing had become an unknown quant.i.ty, the presence of He Ling was very important and he must not separate from them.
He quickly said in a low voice: âThere are many demon beasts in Forever Spring valleyâŠâŠit would be better if there were more people.â
Jun YanZhi raised an eyebrow and glanced at Wen Jing, but didnât say anything.
He Ling thought deeply for a moment. At last, he said: âWeâll look together for two days.â
â„
The three men finished deliberating and set out on their way on the road westward searching for the spirit stone along the way.
Here, the spiritual energy was dense and the spirit gra.s.s was abundant. It was a pity that since it had opened for the first time ten years ago that people had long ago dug things away leaving only immature or low-level spirit gra.s.ses of little value.
Nevertheless, Wen Jing picked dozens of immature high level spirit gra.s.ses and stuffed his storage bags full of them, intending to go back and plant them in the garden.
Early morning of the third day, the three men came before a cliff.
At this time the mountain fog filled the air, quietly drifting in the wind. Gazing into the distance, an unimaginably beautiful panoramic view could be seen of Forever Valley.
Jun YanZhi silently looked at the youth in front of him.
A lot taller than before, the top of his head came up to his lips. In another two years, he would surely be a slender and handsome young man. Even now, at the age of fifteen, his face holding a trace of melancholy, and with the scenery in front of him, it felt as if this was a gentle ink and wash painting.
Wen Jing was thinking of something completely different.
When would the female lead arrive?
Wasnât she supposed to struggle against two giant eagles and then be taken away?
âEnormous eagles large enough to cover the sky arrived capturing Ji KeQing and Jun YanZhi and carried them away into the depths of the valley. Without warning, their bodies abruptly dropped and fell into a seemingly bottomless cold pool.
This cold pool was the most secluded place in Forever Spring valley. It randomly changed colors and was usually concealed by large trees and normally could not be seen. When it was blue-green, the pond water was no different than normal. When it was yellow-green it could cause madness, suicide, and death.
At the moment, the water was yellow-green. Jun YanZhiâs mind was calm, his cultivation was high, and he could patiently bear it for a short period of time while he waited for an opportunity to go ash.o.r.e. However, Ji KeQingâs cultivation was low and she struggled within the water seeming to already show signs of madness.
Jun YanZhi pulled Ji KeQingâs hand and quickly pa.s.sed spiritual energy to keep her steady.â

This section caused an uproar in the comment section as the otaku threw a fit.
Originally in the setting of ăA Calamity for All Living Thingsăâto pa.s.s energy by mouthâ was the most efficient way to pa.s.s energy.  Ji KeQingâs cultivation wasnât high. Being at deathâs door, she needed spiritual energy, however, Jun YanZhi merely âpa.s.sed energy by handâ and caused a great deal of disappointment.
Wen Jing didnât feel the same way.
Jun YanZhi was a very introverted person. Even if he was interested in Ji KeQing, he would never do something like that. Not kissing was in line with his image. Doing something like that would mean something was very wrong.
If Jun YanZhi liked a girl, he would seriously pursue his love. Once they were a couple only then there might be a fleeting kiss.
Therefore, such a thing would never happen.
Just spent the last twelve hours translating while watching Violet Spellwing runs being raffled off. I have the worst luck. Though itâs good for you guys, since I finally got this chapter out.
