Chapter 2 – Prelude (2)
‘Charlotte, I remember your old snotty-ass. I’m going to fuck this girl all night instead of you for today.’
At the thought of it, Hilaryon was anxious to close down his business today.
“Three hundred more to five thousand!”
“I’m sorry, the auction for this product will not begin yet!”
Hilaryon rose to the stage in a gentlemanly manner and said.
“Let me explain; this product is not for sale today. It’s a little pre-released before schedule.”
The front-seat audience was openly complaining. Hilaryon quickly added to settle the sour atmosphere.
“Were you able to take a good look at it? This product iwill be presented at the next auction with a full explanation. If you want to have this child, please come up with enough money by next week! Good luck to you!”
“No.”
Hilaryon, who quickly handed the girl to the host, glanced at the crowd.
While the other guests were busy counting how much they were to bring the next auction, the first-timer had finally opened his mouth.
“Why don’t you put it on sale today? I’ll give you 100,000.”
Suddenly, the hall became as silent as death.
It was too absurd. All sorts of human have come and gone in the auction house, yet this is the first time a person mentioned such a ridiculous amount for a product.
Hilaryon breathed out quickly in a mixture of embarrassment and anger.
“Don’t jest, sir. Don’t you know that false bidding is against the rules? That kind of money is too much in this auction house.”
“So?”
The nobleman’s straight lips perked up as he leaned over with arrogance.
“A hundred thousand it is without a doubt. You can even include the things on that girl, and then I’ll reconsider your attitude.”
The feeling of being beaten with money by an unidentified guest made Hilaryon feel mortified. On the one hand, there was a vague sense of relief seeing a nobleman as aggressive as he was.
That’s right; there’s no such thing as a moral nobleman. They’re all the same in front of a night’s toy.
But the thought of taking the girl was already uncontrollable. Hilaryon shook his head firmly.
“I’d appreciate it if you could come again next week.”
“How can you guarantee that you will hold this auction next week?”
“I have a loyalty to my customers, too, sir. I’m sure you’ll have this child next week…”
“Loyalty? You are loyal?”
The girl, who had never said a word, suddenly opened her mouth.
At that moment, screams erupted from the audience. One or two people jumped to their feet and backed off. Without knowing what was going on, Hilaryon suddenly turned around and exclaimed at the sight that greeted him.
“Oh, host! My host!”
It was no use calling; he had lost his voice. Blood spurted and fell on the girl’s blonde hair like a summer drizzle.
The girl murmured in the midst of it.
“If I had listened to talks of money, I would have gone easily. But if you can’t negotiate, then I don’t have to wait any longer. Human merchants, you will all die here.”
Is it his illusion that the nobleman who was bargaining with him answered?
The girl, who had just broken restraint, breathed out deeply and shook her hand once. Energy emanated from her body, the drops of blood bouncing off. Seeing this, the astonished guests cried out in shock.
“Aura? Aura user in a place like this?”
“Run! Where’s my horseman?”
The guests fled speedily for the exit. And the guards, securing the gateways of the auction house, ran against them and onto the stage. People were entangled over, the hall was in complete disarray.
A guard rushed towards the girl. The girl lightly moved back and moved one hand. Suddenly, the sword from the man’s thigh slid out and a fountain of blood rose from his chest.
“Distasteful. You sell people relying on these skills?”
The girl wielded an unknown sword and took one step. As her aura burst out, a shock wave spread along the direction of the blade, blowing fifteen people away from their places. Soon, blood poured from the holes of their whole body.
The girl cut her sword gracefully, like a Prima Donna, who stood solo. Instead of the paper flowers of the finale, the drops of blood that flew cheered her.
The only person left now was Hilaryon.
“Moo, what, what the hell…!”
Hilaryon’s body suddenly collapsed. He was about to roll down the stage but was able to balance himself quickly.
Looking sideways towards the seats, he discovered all the guests had disappeared.
Except for that one mysterious nobleman.
Before he could judge what was going, someone took hold of his collar. Hilaryon gasped, as his body lifted into the air.
