The boss didnāt drop a treasure chest this time. Fred says thatās not particularly uncommon.
People that challenge bosses multiple times sometimes lose money because they have to maintain their weapons and use consumable items, but they keep at it because they might make it big if they just get lucky once.
We collect the goblin kingās magic stone, I store the corpse as it is, and we exit the dungeon.
Itās not worth a lot because people hunt it so much, but we can still get some money for it because itās used to make equipment.
āItās strange. Why does that hard skin deteriorate after it dies?ā
āYes, our defensive power would get a big boost if we could make equipment with something that hard.ā
Fred responds like he thinks thatās really unfortunate.
Maybe itās too heavy to use properly. Or maybe it has to be made thinner so itās light enough, and that lowers its defensive power? Maybe it depends on the skill of the person doing it.
Ah, and the meat is just what youād expect from a goblin king. Apparently itās so awful that itās actually inedible.
Iām thinking maybe itās not worth much because the disposal fee eats into the total a lot, but apparently people donāt like taking it apart in the boss room.
We say goodbye to Fred and the others after we sell everything and we all get our share.
They seem optimistic, saying theyāre going to look for party members and restart from scratch. But Fred also says with an awkward smile that itās not like they can think of any other options anyway.
āGood job everyone. You need to tend to our equipment and stuff like that, so letās take a break for three days. Rurika and Chris just got here recently too, so Iām sure they want to see the city. Sorry Sera, but that means youāll be their guide.ā
Warriors need their rest too. Maybe weāll rest for longer, depending on how long it takes for them to tend to their weapons. Of course, if theyāre still tired, thereās no reason to try too hard. Weāll just extend this break.
Iām thinking Iām going to look up information about the dungeon from the eleventh floor down, and look for places where I can sell potions. Although the merchant guild is good here, and they do business normally and without any issues.
I also want to use my Creation skill more and increase its proficiency. I want to raise its level and make a mithril weapon before we leave again.
Iām thinking that from both a fighting power and available stock point of view, I should make something for Hikari and Rurika.
Rurika in particular seems very interested in that.
The next morning, Sera, her childhood friends, and Hikari go out. Mia is staying with me.
Apparently they all agree that theyāre scared of letting me go out on my own. At least thatās what Mia says, but really? That much uh?
I tell her I donāt think itās much of a day off if sheās following me around, but she says thatās not a problem.
And so, I head to the reference room in the adventurer guild first. Part of the reason why Mia is here is so she can study about monsters too.
She asks a lot of questions, but thereās a lot of monsters I donāt know either. Starting from the eleventh floor, there are monsters Iāve never fought like slime, kobolds, and hobgoblins. Or the rock birds that appear on the fifteenth floor
Sometimes tigerwolves appear on the sixteenth. Iāve seen one of those. And I finally see a monster Iāve actually fought. Orcs appear on the nineteenth floor.
Another thing to keep in mind is that there are traps from the eleventh floor down. Apparently the eleventh floor is known for being a trap floor, without any monsters. Itās also somewhat popular because thereās a higher chance that treasure chests appear there compared to other floors. But itās written here that its difficult traps also cause injuries, and some adventurers have even lost their lives to them.
Still, a floor just for traps? It kind of feels like the dungeon is being nice. Like it made a floor just for people to get used to them. Other documents even describe what kind of traps there are and how to disarm them. We should probably bring our vanguard here to have a look at them.
After spending the first half of the day locked up in the reference room, Mia and I go get lunch in the stalls and walk around while eating.
āWhatās wrong?ā
Asks Mia, because Iām watching her eat that meat on a skewer.
āI was just thinking that you wouldnāt do stuff like that before.ā
Iām pretty sure back in the holy city when we first ate together at a stall, she complained about walking and eating being improper or something like that. And now sheās doing that without giving it much thought.
Her cheeks turn red, and she doesnāt respond. Itās not like Iām saying that change is bad or anything. I feel better with her like this, now that sheās not trying to act all stiff or anything.
Next, we go to item shops to check how much they charge for potions. By using Appraisal, I can see which ones are asking for a fair price.
I decided to sell them to the guild, but I keep looking into other places anyway. If I can get more money for them, Iām not complaining.
Then weāre off to a weaponās shop, so I can buy a few of their cheapest weapons.
Theyāre so cheap, theyāre almost too bad to sell. I could just buy ore, but I want to see if I can dismantle weapons with Alchemy and reuse the materials. I might be able to get the metal I need this way.
We go home, and I spend the afternoon using Alchemy while the girls practice controlling magic energy. They say they want another pair of magic energy seeing glasses, but I donāt have the magic stones to make them. The goblin kingās wonāt do.
The first thing I do is try to dismantle the weapons I got and put the metal aside. It looks like I can do it without any problems.
I could make throwing knives, but since Hikari and Rurika use them often, I should ask what shape would be best to make them easier to throw. Well, I guess I could make a few on my own. I need to be careful when balancing them, because lighter ones travel faster, but theyāre also not as strong and are actually harder to throw when theyāre too light.
I wish we had a backyard or something where I could practice, but this house doesnāt have a wide enough space.
Then I keep using the Creation skill to make items listed on it that I have the materials for.
I could start disposing of stuff if there was something like a market where I could sell them on an open-air stall, but this is probably going to end up as dead stock in my Item Box.
Taliyah and Elsa are locals. Maybe Iāll ask them about that.
I keep going, and my Creation skill hits level four.
