Deacon Lin had a barbarous look in his eyes.He was the dangerous kind and will use any means to get what he wanted.
Deacon Bai, aware of what kind of personhe was, frowned but didnât say anything otherwise. After all they havenât beenable to located them all this time, they were running out of options. So, inorder to locate the Chengâs, this was necessary.
Innkeeper Zhu was worried and couldnâthelp but to say, âDr. Xu was pretty well respected among the town folks. Youdonât want to stir up too much trouble.â
âTsk, a town several thousand of townsmen,so what if he is well-respected? Our master has more servants than men in thistown, what do I care about this old man Xu? He will cooperate if he knows anybetter!â
âI donât think we should cause too much ofa ruckus before we learned on the Chengâs background!â Deacon Bai gave hisruthless partner a sideway glance and said in a deep voice.
Innkeeper Zhu agreed whole-heartedly.After all, he had been living here for tens of years and this was his town.Besides, if things blew up and other townsmen found out he had to do with allthese, he wouldnât be able to face them ever again.
Deacon Lin is cold-blooded, but notmurderous. He sneered and didnât insist any more.
âNobody else other than Dr. Xu had been tothe Chengâs?â asked Deacon Bai.
âThisâŠ.â
Innkeeper Zhu thought over all the gossipsin the last couple of days. He hesitated for a bit and said, âI heard that thepharmacy apprentice Shen Tang had been booted out of Huichun Clinic, but I donât know whether that was true.â
âKicked out of Huichun Clinic? Is that true? Do we know why?â
âWords had it that he leaked some personalinformation about some patient. I donât know the details!â
âWhat?â
Deacon Bai looked concerned upon hearingthis news. Deacon Lin and Innkeeper Zhu didnât understand what was botheringhim and why the sudden reaction.\nInnkeeper Zhu asked in a lowered voice,âDeacon Bai, whatâs the matter?â
âIf this was true, Iâm afraid someone hadalready been to the Chengâs. We are already late!â Deacon Bai had a solemnexpression.
âWhat do you mean?â Deacon Lin stilldidnât catch the implication of this.
âI mean someone had already found theChengâs through Huichun Clinicâspharmacy apprentice!â
Deacon Bai had a complicated expression. He then looked at Innkeeper Zhu and continued, âIf Innkeeper Zhu have heardthat Dr. Xu had make house calls to the Chengâs; then other would have heard ofit as well. We could gathered that the other party had also been rejected byDr. Xu but then paid off his apprentice for the information. Which was why Dr.Xu kicked him out after finding out about it.â
And Deacon Bai had figured out whatexactly had transpired.
