Chapter 102: Chapter 0102 Orchi
âKnowledge truly is power!â
âThat Donald, he worked all sorts of schemes in college just to gain a transcendent profession while Catherine and Yalanis were lucky, taken under the wing of the Ancient Snake Society by Black, though itâs difficult to say what they had to give in return⊠Even I didnât have much of a choice once.â
With a casual glance, Su Lu found more than five transcendent occupations, âLittle did I know⊠joining a genuine power, becoming a core member, inheritance maybe not, but becoming a transcendent, not an issue.â
He thought for a moment, then reached out for the book âHow to Become a Spellcasterâ.
In an instant, resistance surfaced, and a notice appeared: âReading this book requires 80 points and may not be taken out of the White Tower!â
âSo expensive, but in other words, in Green Tree Castle, with a hundred points, one can basically choose any entry-level occupational informationâŠâ Su Lu did not withdraw, instead he headed to the third floor.
This is the limit for Two Leaves members
The third floor of the White Tower.
Sources of light floated in the void, with no windows on all sides, it gave a sense of oppressive enclosure.
The number of bookshelves here was fewer than the second floor, but mostly covered mysterious knowledge. On the central shelves, a large amount of occupational information emerged:
[Soldier], [Apprentice], [Assistant Priest], [Swordsman], [Beast Shepherd]âŠ
Not just entry-level, but also some second-level occupational information.
For instance, the second level [Swordsman] is an advanced branch of the first level [Soldier]. Moreover, [Soldier] also had the option of advancing to [Gunfighter] or [Cavalry]!
âAnd also⊠[Assistant Priest]? Does this mean a trainee priest? A entry level position in the church?â
Su Lu skimmed through quickly and found it quite beneficial.
Of course, while there werenât many entry-level transcendent professions, this place didnât cover them all either.
For example, the entry-level [Pact Demonist], and [Spirit Medium] and so on.
Su Lu reckons that these occupations either seemed too mysterious, or too perilous. To genuinely want occupational data, one presumably had to move another floor up.
Pity with his level of authority, reaching the third floor is already at the limit.
âHowever⊠my purpose in coming here was to seek the prerequisite for [Wandering Mage]⊠If I canât even find the information here, then I would have to give it up. Iâll have to advance on the [Mysterious Master] path and consider taking on another profession.â
Su Lu recalled from the employee handbook and found the environment in Green Tree Castleâs Inner Circle pretty relaxed.
New employees are given three months to, either advance to become a transcendent, or adapt, attend classes and learn.
After three months, some research tasks would be given, many of them relating to transcendent powers.
Of course, one could also apply to research a specific topic independently, or even lead an experimental team, but to do so, one either had to present a convincing prospect to persuade the Green Tree Council in the Inner Circle, or directly exchange it with enough points.
His five hundred or so points, just wouldnât suffice.
âHello, may I ask if youâre Mr. Pottery?â
As he was contemplating, a voice suddenly interrupted his train of thought.
Su Lu looked up to see a handsome Caucasian man in his twenties, with slightly curly burgundy hair, and an air of self-confidence.
âHello, who might you be?â
The young man with the burgundy hair answered cheerfully, the three green leaf-shaped badges on his chest flickered, âI follow Tutor Spa!â
Su Lu recalled the data and found that there was only one tutor named Spa in the Inner Circle. His status right below the ninth seat, Sleydon Watt, he couldnât help but ask, âIs there something you need?â
âAs a matter of fact⊠Iâve read your paper, and Iâm very interested in the device called âTelegraphâ. Itâs going to change the world!â
Orchi was very direct, âYou may not know this, but Iâm also part of the Francis conglomerate. I like your invention, and I want to put it to work.â
Su Luâs heart stirred, but his face did not reveal anything: âHow will you put it to work?â
He had heard of the Francis conglomerate, a considerable force spread across the Federation, primarily engaged in the media field.
âIâll establish a telegraph company, you get stocks in the company in exchange for the patent rights, Iâll give you 20% of the shares!â
Orchi had it all thought out, âWhat do you think?â
âNot good. Itâs worth 50%!â
Su Lu shook his head, âYou know, even among transcendent beings, communication can be achieved through certain special means with fast speed, but it canât be popularized⊠We canât take batches of transcendent beings as energy source and Telegraph operators, but the Telegraph is different. It does not rely on mysterious power at all and can be operated and maintained by normal people. It is a world-changing invention.â
âBut⊠the cost of laying the telegraph line is tremendous; without scale investment, it would be hard to make a profit!â
Orchi laughed, âYou wouldnât want to lock it up in a safe deposit box for decades, would you? If you think the shares are not enough, we can discuss it further.â
âThat⊠I need to consider.â
Su Lu answered apologetically.
This matter, of course, couldnât be settled in just a few words.
At the very least, he also needed to go back and investigate this person and the forces behind him.
Orchi readily agreed, then glanced at the bookshelves around him:
âConsidering the path to transcendent? I recommend you take a look at the Occupational Encyclopedia! Itâs on this floor, including a lot of common transcendent careers, although only introductive, itâs enough for making comparisons and choices.â
Su Luâs eyes lit up. He thanked him immediately.
Perhaps, only a powerhouse like Green Tree Castle Laboratory, which had gathered a mass of occupational information, could compile an introductory encyclopedia like this.
While it was definitely incomplete, it was already enough for beginner reference.
Orchi politely saluted before leaving the White Tower.
âHehe⊠You failed, didnât you?â
Behind him, a woman who appeared out of nowhere said in a playful voice: âA researcher who invented the Telegraph wouldnât be a fool; how could he be tricked by a few words from you?â
âThatâs my business!â
A flash of anger crossed Orchiâs face: âDo your job, Jessila!â
âI know⊠itâs a pity that the ninth seat moved too quickly. If he was just an Outer Ring researcher, then we would have many waysâŠâ Jessila didnât leave, but licked her lips. âIs that even necessary? But⊠Iâll figure something out!â
Orchi muttered somewhat frustratedly.
Once you enter the Inner Circle, you are officially under the protection of the Green Tree Council. Some actions could not be taken and can only be handled through the proper channels.
However, even so, in an organization, there were still factions, and differences in the level, thereâs bound to be loopholes!
