A boring picture for a boring chapter. Seriously, I fell asleep so many times when attempting to translate this chapter. But once Murong Feng was finally mentioned, I perked right up and managed to finish the translation. Not much happens besides we see more of Jian Zhang’s doubts and jealousy. When Murong Feng’s uniforms were mentioned, my mind immediately flashed back to the scene in the drama where Murong slowly buttons up his jacket in front of Jian Zhang, purposefully trying to provoke Jian Zhang into thinking that he had just spent the night in Jing Wan’s bed. So deliciously hot!
To spice things up, I present a lovely gif of the scene.

Since I peeked ahead, I can tell you that the next chapter will definitely be more interesting that the past few have been. And Murong Feng will confess his love for Jing Wan…soonish…
Encountering Love: Chapter 28
They sat in the car, which thundered past the streets, driving extremely quickly and in a short while, they entered the heavily guarded headquarters of the military governor. The guards led him off the car and directly inside a grey brick building; the atrium of the building was brightly lit, and ten fully armed guards were standing at attention, at their waist were several new-styled pistols. They stared forward, standing ramrod straight; the place was in complete silence, so much that he felt that he could hear his own heartbeat.
The guard let him upstairs, turned left after the stairs, and arrived at a very extravagant room. Xu Jian Zhang was not in the mood to look at the decorations, but he only heard the guard say: “Mr. Xu, please wait here a bit,” and then withdrew.
Xu Jian Zhang was flustered and thought to himself that this slight wait actually ended up to be more than half an hour, as the sun had already fully risen, and he could hear the birds chirping on the tree branches outside. He had a countless number of doubts in his mind, a countless number of thoughts; he would think about Jing Wan, then, he would think about why Murong Feng would want to meet with him. His thoughts were completely jumbled and his emotional state was a mess. After a long time, he finally heard the sound of footsteps, and turning around, he saw a person who looked to be over thirty; while he was pondering this, the other person had already asked: “Are you Mr. Xu?” He nodded and that person said: “I am the head of Liu Shao’s guard, called Shen Jia Ping. I expect that Mr. Xu has already heard about what had happened yesterday, so please do not take offense to this.” After he said this, he raised his head and the two guards behind him walked forward to slowly search his entire body.
After they did not find any weapons, Shen Jia Ping then signaled them by nodding. Shen Jia Ping said: “Mr. Xu, please follow me.” He turned around and headed outside, as Xu Jian Zhang followed behind him, and finally, unable to bear it any longer, he asked: “Is my friend Miss Yin still in the estate?” Shen Jia Ping did not slow his footsteps, nor did he face him, but only said: “Mr. Xu, Miss Yin wants to see you. She has a severe gunshot wound.” When Xu Jian Zhang heard these words, it was as if he had been struck by a bolt of lightning, so overcome by his feelings that he stood there in a daze; upon composing himself, he realized that he was lagging behind by several steps, but he quickly caught up to Shen Jia Ping with a few vigorous strides.
This time, Shen Jia Ping took him inside a Western-styled suite, and Xu Jian Zhang became aware of his resplendent surroundings, as the furnishings were magnificent and there were a few servants standing respectfully in the living room outside; the whole place was extremely quiet, so much that the tick-tock of the wall clock in the next room was audible. Shen Jia Ping personally pushed open the door to the inner room only lit by a small nightlight, which was giving off dim and gentle rays of light. At this moment, Xu Jian Zhang suddenly felt a little afraid, the shadow in his heart became more and more distinct, spreading more and more. The carpet under his feet was about three or four inches thick, and with a step, even his ankle disappeared, as if he was stepping on cotton fluff, so soft that he could not use a bit of force. He found it difficult to take even a step while his heart also dangled in midair, not knowing what to do. He had already caught sight of a large and ornate Western-styled bed, the headboard was carved intricately and gilded with gold, with a Western-styled canopy hanging over it. The canopy was a transparent, snow-white color, flowing lightly like a soft cloud; there were a countless number of golden tassels flowing from it, centering around the bed. The bed was covered by a down quilt, which outlined her delicate body. His heart seemed to be about to burst out of his chest, inadvertently calling out: “Jing Wan.”
Her pale complexion did not have a hint of color, and he just stood there, watching her respire feebly, as if he was a simpleton. The nurse at his side made a few hand gestures, he felt like he had been stabbed in the heart and was scared out of his wits, so much that he did not even know to sit down on the chair that the person had brought over. His gaze was like glue and was only fixed on her face. He asked the nurse: “How is her wound?” The nurse replied: “It’s very severe.” He asked: “How did she receive the wound?” The nurse hemmed and hawed, but Shen Jia Ping laughed aloud and said: “Mr. Xu, it is better if you do not ask about this matter.” He was terrified and startled, but he forced his many questions back down again. He did not know how much time had passed, the sunlight outside had already penetrated the place, so it was murkily lit like at dusk. Jing Wan was lying down on the bed, sleeping deeply like an innocent baby. Xu Jian Zhang sat there, his body gradually becoming numb, but his brain could not process anything at all. The bedroom was very spacious and on the east side, there was a red sandalwood stand on which a knife was hung. The sheath of the knife was inlaid with gemstones and embellished with apricot-colored tassels; it was very magnificent, and was obviously a famous knife. Also on the stand were a few treasured swords, their lengths identical. On a lower shelf, there were a few cigars, each placed in similar cigarette cases. His lifeless eyes landed on the bureau in front of the bed, which contained a man’s military uniforms. When Xu Jian Zhang saw these clothes, even though they were just every day uniforms, but the shoulders were decorated with gold tassels, and he could only think that Murong Feng would wear that kind of military garb.
The servants came to invite him to eat breakfast, but his stomach felt like it was stuffed full of rocks, so heavy that he did not any appetite, so he only shook his head. The room was very quiet, occasionally interrupted by Jing Wan’s moans, and the sound of the nurse walking back and forth to measure her temperature and blood pressure, to give her an injection, or to wipe away her sweat. He sat there, longing for Jing Wan to awaken quickly, but a thread of doubt has already sprouted within the depths of his heart, almost as if he was afraid of the unknown. The servants asked him to eat again; the whole day had passed by, just like that, so quickly yet also so slowly.
The sound of light footsteps came from outside, and he only heard a woman’s gentle voice: “How is Miss Yin?” The maidservant outside answered: “She still hasn’t woken up yet.” After that, the door was pushed open, and when he turned around to look, he only saw a gorgeous noblewoman, not over the age of thirty. Lan Qin quickly said to the noblewoman: “This is Mr. Xu, Miss Yin’s cousin.” She then said to him: “This is our Fourth Madam.”
