Tondemo Skill – 491 – Subjugation Reward & an Unexpected Reunion
The next day, everyone was all excited to catch more Berserker Mud Crabs.
We got onto an engorged Sui and spent the whole day exploring the Eremae River. We found one more crab and
 that was it. It was not as large as the first one. In fact, all three crabs we caught were all smaller than that 4-tonne monstrosity from before.
Still, I consider us lucky to catch one more despite the grumblings. We also collected a lot of river fish, thanks to Sui. Sui worked the hardest on this trip, doing the job of being our boat and spearing fish at the same time.
After we caught that crab, I called a halt to the hunting and convinced everyone to go ashore for lunch before heading towards the Adventurer’s Guild.
Lunch was Pork Tenderloin on Rice made with Dungeon Pork, by the way.
Personally, I’d prefer to have some nice fried Eremae Megalodoras, but my familiars all yelled ‘meat!’ and I had to change the menu per their request.
Therefore, I cooked up a huge batch of Pork Tenderloin topped with a sauce made by mixing some standard Chinese-style sauce, soy sauce, saké,  mirin, sugar and plenty of grated garlic and served that instead.
With six burners, I can have five pans on the fire, grilling the pork tenderloin while the sauce slowly reduced on the sixth burner. This way, I could quickly serve up meals for my familiars without having to wait.
Naturally, I could also stick a roast (or two!) into the ovens too~
After lunch, it was time to visit the Adventurer’s Guild. This time, everyone opted to follow me. Compared to yesterday when I zipped along anonymously within the city, today I have a Fenrir on my left, an Ancient Dragon on my right with Sui and Dora-chan perched on their heads.
As we walked down the street, people just rushed to get out of our way.
I guessed it can’t be helped

Actually, now and then, we get an ‘It’s a Mister Wolf!’, ‘A Mister Dragon!’ or, more often than I care to recall ‘I want to touch it!!’ Inevitably, their mothers would hiss them and whisper, ‘Shh, don’t look!’. Moms of this world, I don’t blame you for acting like that, but in reality, these guys are pretty nice to children.
Naturally, I didn’t say anything to avoid making trouble

Eventually, the Adventurer’s Guild came to view.
““Hmm, I’m looking forward to seeing how Master would change the taste of alligator meat. Hohoho,””
As promised, Grandpa Gon used telepathy around other humans but, do you really have to make that kind of face when you talk? Your smile is kind of scary

“”Umu, I look forward to eating alligator tonight.””

The other two were also similarly excited, but at least they were small and cute.

“Today’s subjugation mission reward is 200 gold for the Berserker Mud Crab, 135 gold for the Kelpie, and 170 gold for the Tyrant Black Alligator. Along with the items sold, that’s a total of 650 gold. Please confirm the amount.”
I accepted the bag of coins and started counting the money. A total of 65 large gold coins were inside.
[1] “Once again, thank you very much for letting us have the Berserker Mud Crab shell~! We are right in the middle of processing the other two crabs as well, so do look forward to it~!”

[1] “Another Mud Crab~! Ah, Mukouda-san, hohoho, it is wonderful doing business with you~!! Don’t worry, we shall take care to collect the guts as well~!!”
“Oi! Where’s the alligator meat!” Fer snapped.
[1] “Ah, look at me. Hohoho, how could I forget? Please accept the alligator meat, and a portion of the skin as well! Oh, and these are the crab meat that we have collected from the previous two crabs and the guts. Please accept them. As for the remuneration, would it be alright if we handed them tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow is fine,” I said, and that concluded our business with the Guild.
After tucking everything away in my [Item Box], my party left the Adventurer’s Guild.
“What shall we do next? Do you want to check out the food stalls here?”
“”Yes! Let’s look at meat skewer stalls!!”” Dora-chan immediately perked up.
“”Umumu, yes, agree.””
“”It would be interesting to eat food made by others, although I must say, Master’s food is still the best

I guess this is what we’ll be doing for the rest of the afternoon

Well, I don’t have anything against a food shopping spree, it’s much better than hanging out in the woods or, Gods and Goddess forbid, another nation subjugation mission.
We were making our way towards the food stalls when a voice called out.
“Mokouda-san?”
Hearing my name, I turned to look and, “Woah, what are you guys doing here?”
In front of me was the A Rank party [Ark].
The one who called out to me was a rough-looking man with short blond hair and a huge bastard sword strapped to his back, beside him was the ruggedly handsome Gideon, Siegwald the Dwarf with his special magic hammer and the amazing golden beauty with green eyes, Feodora the Elf.
I met this party a long time ago, back at Avering’s dungeon.

[1] In the original text, Orson was all sad because Mukouda revealed he had 3 more crabs but refused to sell any. However, Gumi maintained her stance on shelling the crabs. If only because in the original story, they boiled the 4-tonne crab for more than an hour and threw away its legs. That was when Gumi elected to take over all crab-related scenes.
In short, deleted all the ‘oh we ate the crab’, ‘oh boiling it made the shell brittle’, ‘you want the crab? Too bad’
