As soon as I entered the Adventurerās Guild with my familiars, the Guild Master appeared at the door to greet us. I think he must have been waiting all morningā¦
āYouāre finally here! Well? Did you bring the test potion?ā
āYes but surely thereās no need to hurry? Iād like to pick up the meat and materialsā¦ā
āWe can do that later. Come, letās go to my room.ā
I was quickly herded into the Guild Masterās room before I could say anything [5] and was pushed into the visitorās chair while the Guild Master sat opposite me and stared at me with large hopeful eyes.
[8] āAlright, show me the goods. Let us commence with the testing!ā
[6] This guy probably wonāt let me go unless I give him the āpotionā. Resigned to my fate, I took out the hair-restoring tonic from my [Item Box] [5]. [1] Naturally, I had moved it from its original plastic container into a plain bottle.
āTh- this is itā¦ā [3] the Guild Masterās eyes fixed themselves onto the bottle [5].
Interestingly enough, [Net Super] carried several different brands of hair restoring tonics. [1] Although itās not quite the medical-grade tonic that could be found at pharmacies or drugstores, the fact that several brands of the same item could be found at supermarket level online stores meant that demand for hair restoring medicine was quite high.
Looks like people really cared a lot about their hair.
I chose a tonic that promised to promote hair growth and suppress hair loss. [1] I must say I was equally attracted to the gold and black box it came in as well as the description that says the tonic will āstimulate the protein in hair root cells to promote hair growthā.
āBy the way, if you use the tonic together with this special shampoo, you can expect better results,ā I said, placing the shampoo (bottle already switched) from the same brand on the table.
According to the description: The shampoo would āremove excess sebum on the scalp and promote better tonic absorptionā.
Anyway, it looks convincing enough. At least, itās convincing enough for me to buy itā¦
[9] Last night, while I was looking through [Net Superās] hair growth products, I found that W brandās shampoo and hair tonic set has the most attractive description.
ā[5] The effects wonāt be immediate?ā [5] [6] In fact, most hair growth tonics only dare to conservatively guarantee results after āsix weeks of continuous useā.
[6] Six weeks is a long time in this world where potions that could fix broken bones and heal injuries right away exists.
[9] I guess since itās something from [Net Super] it should work well? At least, it should be better than anything Iād find on earth, right?
Still, it would be nice to have something with an instant effect [5], especially since I plan to gift it to a count of this worldā¦
[9] You know what? I should really give this a little more thought.
āHmm, immediate effect. Medicines with immediate effects⦠should I try mixing the different [Net Super] hair tonics together? No, thatās dangerous, itās not like every tonic is made the same way. Should I mix the tonic with something from this world? After all Suiās Elixirs all have immediate⦠effectā¦ā
āā¦thatās it! Suiās Elixirs!ā [5]
Suiās Elixirs are effective against all diseases and hair loss should be considered a disease, right?
Or is it considered part of ageing?
Suiās Elixirs (low grade) canāt extend lifespan but if I mix it with the hair tonic would it boost the lifespan of hair?
[9] I have so many questions but since I have [Appraisal] and Sui to make more elixirs for me, I guess itās fine to try mixing stuff and see what happens, right?
Thus, I try putting a single drop of Suiās Elixir into the hair tonic (which has been decanted into a ceramic bottle by the way) and waited.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, the bottle suddenly glowed and the transparent liquid that was the hair tonic turned into a clear, pale pink.
āOu! Th- the colour changed,ā
[9] When nothing else happened, I used [Appraisal] on the bottle:
[Divine Medicine, Hair Power!]
Divine medicine, created from the combination of Suiās Special Elixir (low grade) and Hair Tonic from another world. Produces outstanding hair restoration effects and promotes new hair growth. Desperate people struggling with thinning hair and hair loss now have the hope of recapturing their lost youth.
āBufo!Ā [5] J-just what kind of effect is this? Also⦠Divine Medicine? And, whatās with this ādesperate peopleā descriptionā¦?ā
[9] Was what I thought back then. That was, until the moment I sat down in front of one of these ādesperate peopleā.
āWell? Well? How do I use it?ā [9] the Guild Master cradled the two bottles in his hands carefully, as though they contained the secret to eternal life.
[9] Or maybe eternal youth.
[9] Which, I guess, itās not too far off the mark.
āUse the content of the second bottle to wash your hair at night. Remember to lather well and wash all the dirt and oil away. This is so that the contents of the hair tonic could penetrate your scalp more thoroughly.ā
āUmu, wash with this and clean up properly.ā
āMake sure to wipe off the water until your hair is partially dry. Then, apply a bit of the hair tonic on and massage it slowly into your scalp.ā
āMassage this onto the scalp, I see,ā [10] he squinted his eye at the bottle of tonic seriously.
I felt like I had to say something else, ā[10] Ah, you should just use a small amount each day. Using too much in one go doesnāt improve the effect so it would just go to waste.ā
āAlright, I shall use it tonight,ā despite his slightly reluctant look, the Guild Master carefully put both bottles away in his desk drawer.
āā¦then, I shall go downstairs and pick up my meat and money,ā
[6] ā⦠ā¦ā his mind is totally inside the drawer with the hair restoring tonic, I just knew it.
I got up and silently left the room, leaving the distracted Guild Master alone. [5]
āDesperate peopleā indeed.
Anyway, I know my way to the warehouse and called out to Old Man Johan.
āHello, Iām here to pick up the meat.ā
āOu! Brother! Itās all ready for you.ā
I happily received the meats from Wyvern, Wild Bison, Golden Sheep, Giant Horned Boar, Rock Bird, Blue Bull, Giant Turkey and Chimera. [5]
Looks like I wonāt have to worry about not having meat for a while. [2] Next was the money for the materials. After explaining the breakdown of the monster parts to me, everything came down to
[4] āOoh, thatās quite a lot. How unexpected,ā I mused.
āDeals with you are always quite significant but we do have Wyverns and a Chimera on the table this time,ā explained Johan.
āOh yes, Chimeras are pretty rare, right?ā
āYup, fur, fang, poison sac, and various internal organs are all important materials for one thing or another. So they are always in demand.ā Johan-san handed me a small sack. [5] ā76 platinum and 85 gold coins, please check it.ā
Iām pretty quick at counting the local money now, āYup, everything checks out.ā
āBring us something rare again next time, yeah?ā [7] Johan looked particularly cheerful.
āIt all depends on what Fer and the others come across. However, if we do get something interesting, Iāll be happy to do business with you again!ā
[Gumihou: Deleted a lot of stuff. I think Eguchi-san is experimenting a bit with his writing. Thereās some flashback scenes here that Gumi has never seen in Tondemo Skill before]

[9] For some reason, thereās a page break here AND a repeat of whatās written just 2 paragraphs earlier which turned out to be a random flashback. Looks like the author is experimenting? Thereās been quite a few of these lately but the unexpected page break is new.
Gumi decided to just read > understand > rewrite into convincing stream of thoughts + logical sentence arrangements
[10] āthe amount is smallā not sure why Mukouda specifically mentions this? Ok, the next chapter clarified this.
