At that moment, Shi Di who had just raised his glass paused, put a defensive barrier around his whole body, then continued to drink casually. Hei Yanshi turned and looked towards the window.
With a crash, a man dressed in white and covered in injuries burst in and fell straight to the ground at Mo Tianliao’s feet.
Mo Tianliao moved his feet away. Next to him, Shi Di raised his hand and grabbed the man by the back of his collar. When the intruder was lifted up, he revealed a bright and beautiful face, he looked like a boy in his late teens.
“Ng-” The man, who had briefly fainted, opened his eyes and saw Shi Di’s face, then he immediately looked around in a panic. Seeing the human-shaped lion curiously watching from behind Shi Di and the furry little head on Mo Tianliao’s chest, the man grabbed Shi Di’s stout forearm and began to implore, “Great sir, I am a good to be auctioned. I want to escape, please…”
Mo Xiaozhao gripped his clothes and stood up; he quietly scrutinized the man in the blood-splattered white clothes. His Liuli eyes narrowed slightly, he could clearly tell that this was a Demonic Beast who had just taken human shape and was still very weak.
Without saying a word, Hei Yanshi pushed his master behind him, lest he squeezed the boy to death.
“It broke into Xiaoyao Building. Go in and have a look.” There was a commotion downstairs, which Shi Di could clearly hear with his divine sense.
Everyone in Bahuang City must exercise a certain courtesy, if they wanted to catch someone, they had to use the front door. It would take them some time to negotiate with the madame, but it was too late to escape.
The man gritted his teeth, adjusted his posture and knelt on the ground. “Great Sir, I am a shape-shifted Demonic Beast. You found me; I am yours. Please accept me.” He could clearly see that this tall and muscular man in front of him was incredibly imposing and had extraordinary strength, he should be able to protect him. Moreover, this man already had a blood pact with his demonic pet, so nothing would happen to him for at least a while. He would wait for an opportunity to escape once more. Besides, he had been able to feel the presence of a Great Ancient Beast from outside, that was why he broke in so recklessly, since it was not this man demonic pet then it had to be…
“Demonic Beast?” Shi Di immediately became interested; he raised his hand and touched the man’s delicate face. Holding the man’s chin, he looked at him curiously, then turned around and asked his lion, “Is this a Demonic Beast?”
“Mm-hm,” Hei Yanshi answered, his ears twitching. “The people from the auction house will come up here in a minute. Do you want him?”
“According to the rules of the Taixuan continent, finders’ keepers,” Mo Tianliao touched the little head lying in his arms and said slowly. His meaning was very clear, only a knobhead would not take this bargain.
“Milord, excuse me,” the procuress’ voice sounded from outside. She pushed open the door, followed by several burly demonic cultivators carrying Beast Imprisoning Chains. Once they saw Shi Di, they didn’t dare to act tough, they respectfully stood upright and saluted.
“This is Lord Shi Di,” the procuress said with a smile. “Milord, these are men from Xiaoyao Auction House.”
“Greetings, Milord,” the leader saluted, kneeling with one knee on the ground and looking at the man still caught in Shi Di’s hand. “This is one of our auction house’s goods. He has disturbed Milord’s refined pleasure; this servant will take him away,” he said, wanting to quickly take the man.
The Demonic Beast quivered with fear, holding Shi Di’s arm tightly. His faintly slanted eyes filled with tears, gazing imploringly.
Lord Shi Di was very pleased with this small gesture of dependence. He snorted coldly, “This excellency found it; therefore, it belongs to this excellency.”
“Er… Milord, pardon the offence but, our auction house spent a lot of money to buy it, if we can’t take it back…” The people from the auction house looked embarrassed. This shape-shifted Demonic Beast was invaluably rare and it was to be the star of the upcoming auction, they couldn’t afford to lose it.
“A Demonic Beast without an owner belongs to whomever finds it,” Mo Tianliao said coldly. “No matter how powerful the auction house, it cannot break the rules of the entire Taixuan continent.”
When the group heard this, they immediately broke out in a sweat. He made it sound as if they were bullying Lord Shi Di. What a nightmare! This Demonic Lord, was an extremely powerful Half-Immortal, he would not even need to use one finger to crush them all. No matter how powerful their backer, they wouldn’t dare try to take advantage of him!
The demonic path was different from the righteous path, where if you were ever in danger you could mention the name of your teacher or of an Elder and maybe your attackers would spare your life out of respect. In the demonic path, only strength was respected. They had comparatively little power so they’d better be careful, they had no reason to go and get killed.
“Hmph!” Shi Di slapped the wine table, and the carved crystal table instantly shattered into pieces.
Mo Tianliao raised his hand and blocked his cat from the debris with his sleeve.
The pressure radiated by the Demonic Lord filled the whole room instantly, making everybody drop down and kneel on the ground. The shape-shifted Demonic Beast was already seriously injured and couldn’t help coughing up a mouthful of blood. Mo Tianliao, whose divine soul was stronger than Shi Di’s, did not feel anything at all and continued to watch the show.
“It’s not easy to run so far, here’s a reward for your hard work.” Shi Di grinned, grabbed a handful of lingshi and threw it at the group of people. “Fuck off!”
After being hit over the head by the falling lingshi, the group did not dare to say a word, they bowed their heads and picked it up. There was nothing further to say, a Demonic Beast indeed belonged to the one who found it. Besides, the auction house wouldn’t want to offend this Demonic Lord, so they had to take the money and leave despondently.
Once he saw the people go, the seriously injured man couldn’t hold on any longer, his eyes closed and he fainted. After a burst of light, he turned into a snow-white fox.
He seemed to have met this fox before, but where? Mo Tianliao frowned slightly and suddenly remembered that the woman who was auctioned at Liuhe Market was also a snow-white fox. Were they connected somehow?
Shi Di didn’t know where to put the fox in his hand so he threw it to Hei Yanshi behind him. Hei Yanshi caught it but he also didn’t know where to put it, he himself was a Demonic Beast, carrying the fox in his arms seemed inappropriate. He could only turn into a big lion and hide the fox in the thick mane on his neck. The white fox was only one chi long, it would never fall off the lion’s broad back.
A little while later, the procuress came back with a group of beautiful girls, smiling pleasantly as if nothing had happened just now, and politely introduced them to Shi Di.
The female cultivators in Xiaoyao Building mostly had a furnace constitution. This constitution referred to people with dual or multiple spiritual roots which were elemental opposites. For them, it was very difficult to cultivate and the major sects would not accept them. However, engaging in dual cultivation with them was very beneficial for other people.
Some people specialized in raising these types of furnaces which could be used as gifts and Xiaoyao Building obviously also raised them for selling. Of course, there was no shortage of female cultivators with a furnace constitution who came here voluntarily in order to earn some lingshi so that they could continue training. After all, being able to be kept as a private furnace depended on one’s face. If one came to do business directly, at least they could earn some lingshi.
“Achoo~ ” The kitten in his arms smelled the fragrance of cosmetics and immediately sneezed. He gave Mo Tianliao another slap with his paw and began to wriggle, losing his temper.
“Xiaozhao can’t stand it here, I’ll take him back now. Enjoy yourself, uncle.” Mo Tianliao stood up, when he saw Shi Di’s expression of understanding pity, he immediately felt his teeth itch. Holding the cat, he turned and left.
Mo Tianliao naturally knew where Shi Di’s residence in Bahuang City was, just around the corner.
The maidservant took Mo Tianliao to the guest room and retreated. After Mo Tianliao put up a barrier around the room, the kitten in his arms jumped and instantly turned into his coldly beautiful Master. He pushed aside Mo Tianliao who was standing near him. “Go take a bath.”
Those slender white hands blocking his nose and mouth, Qingtong frowned at Mo Tianliao, gaze full of disgust.
Mo Tianliao could only obey. He took two steps before thinking of something; his cat might also want a bath. He turned and asked, “Do you want me to wash you too?” Once he said it, he realized it sounded wrong. He looked at his shocked Master, then Mo Tianliao immediately turned to leave so fast he left skid marks.
“Perverted disciple!” Qingtong reacted, he raised his hand and launched an invisible palm attack.
Mo Tianliao immediately crossed his arms and erected a barrier. Just when the barrier shattered, he jumped into the bathroom.
D-damn him! His thin lips pursed faintly, Qingtong turned into a snow-coloured kitten and jumped into bed, scratching the sheets with all his might. When Mo Tianliao came out fresh and clean, he saw the bed full of holes and Lord Kitty taking as much size as he possibly could on it.
He raised his hand and passed it through his hair using some fire qi, instantly drying it. Mo Tianliao then brazenly jumped into bed and pushed himself close to Lord Kitty. “Shi Di won’t come back tonight, Master, talk to me?” Mo Tianliao drew even closer to the little furball who had his back to him. “I’m all cleaned up, smell it?”
Slap! A snow-white paw rose and the big groping hands were slapped off. A gleam of white light flashed and the kitten turned into a slender beauty.
Qingtong lay on his side on the bed and looked at his stupid disciple who was smiling fawningly. He slowly leaned over and sniffed at his temples. There was no cosmetic smell, only a faint smell of vegetation.
The gentle breath blew on one side of his face, so close that Mo Tianliao could feel Master’s faint warmth. He could not help gulping, and turned to look at him.
Cold beautiful eyes looked back at him, those thin lips opened slightly and a voice like a remnant of ancient times, clear and stirring, sounded, “What did you want to talk about?”
Mo Tianliao, as if bewitched, slowly leaned closer; three inches away from the pale thin lips, he stopped abruptly. He pinched his thigh under the quilt and quickly picked the thread of the conversation back up. “Don’t you think that fox is somewhat similar to the one in Liuhe Marketplace?”
“Mm-hm,” Qingtong replied, noncommittal. He didn’t think there was anything wrong with Mo Tianliao being so close. After all, that’s how they usually were. It was just that, looking at the face in front of him, his hand itched to give it a scratch.
Since he wanted to do it, he just did it. Lord Kitty, the human-shaped cat, extended his hand and put a white jade-like fingertip on Mo Tianliao’s face. His finger curled gently.
The cool fingertip scratched up and down on his face. Mo Tianliao stiffened and did not dare to move. The soft itch tickled all the way to the bottom of his heart. His mouth went dry and an irrepressible scorching heat rushed all over his body.
“Qingtong…” Mo Tianliao said hoarsely. He wanted to warn Master to stay away from him, even if he was now a tree, he was also a man! He shouldn’t tempt him like this! Any more and he wouldn’t be responsible for his actions!
Cold beautiful eyes slowly narrowed and his face was pushed away with a slap. “Disgraceful disciple, how dare you call your Master’s name!”
Crash! For some reason, the suggestive and sensuous atmosphere between the couple completely disintegrated.
“When can I fall in love normally?”
Carpenter: Master, your lips look so sweet
Master: Evil disciple, do you want to bite me? *Offence is the best defence* *Chomp*
